[Q] X10 suddenly stopped working (booting infinitely) - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I have a Xperia X10, I installed the official 2.1 (or maybe 2.2, don't know) update some month ago, after that, I rooted it using the one click tool and installed a new font and an animated boot screen using the app "Root Tools". Everything worked fine until today.
I was listening to a web radio stream on my phone, when it suddenly shut off. I wasn't able to turn it on again, so I pulled the battery for a minute.
After that, it wouldn't boot anymore. I get the "Sony Ericsson" screen, then the animated boot screen, as usual. But then nothing. The boot animation is running and running and nothnig else happens.
I already tried removing SIM and SD card, it doesn't help either.
Do I have to reflash it or something like that? Is there any way to backup the application data before? Normally, I'd use Titanium Backup, but unfortunately I can't access it because the phone doesn't boot^^
Best regards,
Cherry

Connect your phone to your PC and run SEUS or PC Companion to repair the phone.
Just plug it in and follow the instructions

I installation xRecovery, but it does not work, boot while holding back would have been stopped at the Sony Ericsson screen, I think my installation steps are not wrong, because I have two Xperia X10, an old date is 10W28 can enter xrecovery, the new date is 10W48, can not enter xrecovery has been stopped at the Sony Ericsson screen. Hi men! I am with same problem! I can not install xrecovery
Why is it? Nobody could understand it!
Thanks for Attention !
Try installing it using the manual method.
You are not suppose to hold back key. Just press it some times until xrecovery screen appears when you see SE logo on screen.
Ive got the same problem, Ive tried everything! To push the back button once, two times, three times, held it forever, waited more than 5 minutes, maybe 10? Still being stuck at Sony Ericsson screen.
I read somewhere, that a person erased all his files in the SD memory card, and put the files in the root of SD card.
And it worked for him. I will give that a shot when I get home, but I dont think it will solve it actually.
Ive rooted my phone, completely, installed busybox (it also confirmed that my phone was rooted), afterwards I installed xRecovery without problems.
Just the last part, being, crazy.. !!! HELP
Got the same frezze se

Help with Bricked mini pro and JIT

So i have tried Jit enabler v2 and bricked my SE
it freezes at Sony Ericsson logo,
what i can do is boot via xrecovery and since there i dont know how to remove Jit enabler,
Any advice?
Depending on what version of firmware you have, you need to download : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902974
and install as update.zip "*10* 2.0.A.0.*** Disable JIT.zip". That should help. If not, clear dalvik cache and reboot.
thanks, but how to put it to SD card because since its bircked i cant properly connect the phone so PC would read its SD card?

I suppose that You don't have any card reader :/
I don't really remember if ADB works in xRecovery mode, but You can try, to unpack the "disable jit" package, and push manually files to "/system/bin", and "system/lib". The build.prop should not be a problem tho. You can do that with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868423 but, as I said, I'm not sure about working ADB in xRecovery. I figure You don't have enough time to push files on "Sony Ericsson" logo, cuz it reboots ;/
Just try.
thanks for helping out!
unfortunetly i have a reader, and only remembered after i did via xrecovery full reset (wipe data). BUT it still didnt booted, froze uppon sony ericsson logo, so im now moving files you gave a link and praying xrecovery still works
You moved to fast with wipe
I don't really know what to say to You right now.
but seems there is xrecovery backup, so in case...i think maybe i can reinstall via update service, than restore backup i made before wiping data out and installing jit disabler. Well thats by my logic should work. But im not really expierienced with phones and dont have x10 for a long time...
Unfortunately that I think is the last thing it's left to do. Just repair the phone via SEUS. I don't want to be a ****, but it's a bitter lesson for You, that if You have xRecovery, and ADB enabled theres always a way to get passed "Sony Ericsson logo reboot". Wipe was just to fast thinking. Hope You don't get in a trouble like that ever.
Yea, i tried too long time ago JiT v2 and i also bricked my phone, i also installed by accident wrong firmware ver JiT v1 and ended up, again, with a brick.
I that case, only solution to it is to Reflash whole firmware again. Trust me, i tried all possible solutions and it didnt worked. Luckily i had my contacts backed up on my g account.
I also learned my lesion hard way, and, this is 100% true.. "If you have xRec be sure to always have a backup."
P.S. Dont worry, mini/pro dont die that easily.. Its just get hardly wounded, it will always recover, but sometimes with memory loss (since u didnt had a backup)
When i first time bricked my phone it was a day old, i freaked out, but manage to get a grip and searched forum a bit. Since i like experimenting with my software i manager to brick my phone 10+ times per day..
And.. guess what phone im using now? x10 mini
Well, yea often flashes are not a big problem, but i don't wish that to anybody, cuz as you said, and all know it's a pain in the ass to get back settings, and all the data.
"Bricking" is defiantly to strong word. Boot loops, or hanging on SE logo is far from bricking, we always have a chance to "repair" our devices by ourself, so no problem here. The real problem can be in the future, when boot loader get fully cracked, and for example we interrupt his flashing process - situation well known for other android phones users. Phone gets bricked, and theres **** we can do about it, cuz recovery is obviously not working.
I did learned something else back then (5 years ago) when flashing my phone with with a desktop PC and suddenly power failure.. bricked my phone which not even got any bootloader to start with. Since that moment I always use my laptop to flash my phone as it has battery to continue the flashing process in case power failure happen again.

Amen to that.

[Q] Stuck at Dual Core Technology

Hey Everyone,
I just bought the Atrix today. Love the phone. Rooted it in 1.2.6 and side-loaded. Attempted to install GreyBlur through SystemRestore and after I restarted the phone after installation, the phone can't get past the Dual Core Technology screen. It will get stuck on that screen, the indicator will flash red a couple times then it will restart and repeat.
How can I fix this?
Addendum
I tried holding power and vol-down and it showed fastboot at the top but nothing happened after that.
I installed GreyBlur from internal storage rather than SD (dont know if this matters)
If I want to take it back to the AT&T store is there anyway they can check that I rooted it?
Hello
Do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991072

Once it is done try to flash your ROM again.

[Q] problems with theftaware uninstalling - HELP!

I was trying to uninstall the theftaware prog from my rooted X10a. I read in a forum from Avast (the owner of theftaware nowadays) that it would be possible to use titanium backup to do it.
Then, I opened titanium backup, and choosed the theftaware app. After a long click, the menu popped up and I choosed to uninstall it. The prog said the phone would boot up twice before complete removal. But then, after automatically booting, the phone shows the sony ericsson logo and then a picture with an "!" in a yellow triangle over a phone draw. After around 10 seconds, the device turned off.
I´ve tried to turn it off again but no success. The SE logo appears, the mentioned picture appears and after 10 secs, turn off again...
What should I do??
I had that when I tried to do something with rom manager. The phone showed a picture of a yellow triangle with an arrow pointing down to a phones screen.
I think I couldnt access xrecovery cos of this,so I had to reflash and use the backup I had made previously using xrecovery.
And I think I had problems reflashing it,loads of errors, flashtool refused to work.I only managed using easy rooting kit.
Maybe wait to see if an expert here has an easier fix,as it took me about 5 hours to fix the problem.

Yes theunderling, this is exactly the picture I see on the screen, so for sure you had very similar problem... Which file should I reflash? My model is X10a.
All I can say is that I was only interested in getting xrecovery back-since I knew I could then launch the back-up I had made.
Maybe there is an easy fix,or maybe you dont have a backup. But if you are just wanting the phone to work, and are not worried about losing stuff-then try a pc companion repair to start off with.
It could take a while for someone else to chip in with some help.....phone unuseable in the mean-time
Do you have anything backed-up,or not worried?

[Q] Vibrant won't boot completely

Ok, so I wanted Ice Cream Sandwich on my Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant SGH-T959.
I found a Youtube video and eventually installed the passion ICS rom on my phone successfully. Then, I inserted my external sd card and took it back out with out unmounting it. This made my phone want to wipe all my (internal) sdcard data. So stupidly, I did. Luckily I have a recent backup. But then I did a reboot, and it said that the encryption failed and I needed to reset my phone. I complied. Then it would only go into the mod recovery screen, since I had no rom to reinstall (my sdcard wouldn't mount for some odd reason, even after I tried repeatedly). So I decided to start over. I used odin to revert it to what it came like. I unplugged it because it got stuck at cache.rfs and soft-bricked it. Luckily I know how to fix this so I got it back into odin, and I got it to work until it would have a blue reset box in the top left corner, and it said I removed my device. My phone then tried to reboot. It showed the vibrant screen, then crashed and showed the little swirl thing that it does before it shows the green charging battery, it would show that, then show that with the battery in the background, then crash and start again, never getting to the green battery. I tried unplugging it and booting it that way... it went to the vibrant screen and crashed yet again. Also can't get it to display the pink animation. I tried the odin thing again just to get the same result. I tried to boot into recovery mode and it won't even do that. It wont show the terminal thing to save its life. Any ideas? I can get it to the download screen. Any hope? (sorry for the in-depth story, but I thought it might help someone pinpoint what was wrong) I am sporting windows xp. Losing data isn't a problem for either my internal sdcard or external sdcard seeing as I have complete backups on my computer.
Thanks!
Help Please!
UPDATED!
I just tried again and it showed the terminal thing for the first time since I used odin. It will now show the green battery screen, it went into terminal and looked like it was doing stuff and it said that the data wipe failed. Boot Pattern still the same, goes to the vibrant screen and then crashes.
UPDATED YET AGAIN!
It will now go into recovery.
AND AGAIN
Now after I wiped it etc. in recovery mode and rebooted and now it just shows the vibrant screen and crashes over and over on its own.
here's a work around fix

Not-Working Links, noncompaitibility with windows xp it doesn't restore to 2.1
So I tried that a bit ago and the pit file link to download doesn't work. So I used the default one for the vibrant. Didn't successfully run 2.1. Still same problem. Oh, and also, the whole command prompt open in that folder doesn't work on xp, only windows 7 or vista, I found a fix, but still it doesn't recognize adb as a command that is acceptable or whatever.
Thanks, but any other help?
I try Odin and when my phone shows data formatting..... it says data wipe failed afterwards. I think this is the problem.

Looking back... I didn't know what adb was and now that I have the android SDK installed I'm sure I would be able to fix. Too bad I sold it for an insanely low price. Ugh.
Galaxy S3 T999 rooted and flashed more than daily.
