has anyone else noticed there really only one way to send and view other 3D pics
Cant send through MMS
Gmail doesn't recognize the file
HTC Mail app is the only one that works
Do you think they will have an update to fix it?

What is ther point of sending a 3d object to someone unless they have a 3d phone or graphics card in their computer, wich most people don't. The 3D function is mostly there for you enjoyment. You have to remember there is only one other 3d phone out there

The point is that other people might have 3D phones, graphics cards, or TVs.
3D images in MPO format can easily be converted to anaglyph for users without 3D displays as well. There are plenty of reasons, and presumably the OP had one.
My father has the phone and just want it to be a bit easier on sharing 3d content with him. Beside why not get the kinks out now before the market floods with 3d capable phone and were still stuck not be able to share easily

Does any know of a digital photo frame that will display 3D photos in the format taken by the EVO 3D?
google the file format the 3d uses and search for frames....simple...guess peeps neverheard of google

If you spend more than 10 seconds looking (which I did before posting), you'll see that the frames returned by google are either not available in the US, or not really compatible with the file format (without conversion) used by the 3D.
I guess this is a question best asked once people have had a chance to get some experience with the 3D, the picture format and available products.
I'll keep looking. If I find something that is workable with the 3D, I'll certainly share my results.

I think the OP was also looking for someone who MAYBE HAS ONE TOO. We all know how to use Google. I think sometimes guys like you just go thread to thread posting that garbage.
digital photo frame
Don't know what to say, very happy to be here, to meet a lot of good friends, also hope to be able to help others to solve some problems.Thank you. Here, of course you are also interested in the digital photo frame can also pay attention to my words.
Would it be possible for me to rip a copy of a 3D Blu-Ray that I own, then have it playback on the phone in 3D?
Please point me in the right direction if so.
So long as the phone doesn't have cinavia protection built in, I don't see why.
Well, i think u can refer this topic:

Does anyone know if there are any other 3D movies available (through HTC Watch, Blockbuster, or other avenues)?
I looked through HTC Watch, but couldn't find any indications of which movies were 3D and which weren't.
I didn't want to install Blockbuster's whole app if someone else knew how they organized their content.
Thanks.

The common consensus is that there is no other 3D content. You get the Green Hornet and you can buy the 6 gameloft games. That's it.
However many have been converting videos from 2D to 3D with mild success. This thread should help you a bit. But scroll through the comments as the OP is kinda off.
i realize someone posted something close to this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140313) his instructions are somewhat vague and he lists a bunch of software that you'd have to pay for or you don't need. and actually i've found that the free stuff works better in this case (hint: don't buy wondershare video converter ultimate unless you want to waste your money and end up with something not even close to 3d). also he doesn't say how to properly offset the images to get a 3d effect which is absolutely necessary. so this is sort of for people who are new to this phone or just have had trouble figuring out how to convert 2d to 3d.
that being said, let me say that you can't REALLY convert 2d to 3d... it will look somewhat 3d, but in order to get a real 3d image coming out at you, you need to have two separate images taken at two slightly different angles (hence the 2 cameras on the evo 3d) however it will look pretty close because we can offset it. i dunno the proper terminology because i knew nothing about this stuff a week ago so bare with me.
we will do photos first ....
download stereophoto maker here:
http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stphmkr/file/stphmkre434.zip
you do not need to install it because it is a single executable so just extract from the zip and run it.
go to file>open left/right images, then go to the picture you want to convert to 3d and click it. then it will make u pick another picture for the right, just pick the same one again.
now go to the top and click on "adjust" then click "easy adjustment"
now above the picture is the H. Position adjustment bar... in order to imitate the two side by side cameras like our phones have we are just going to adjust this a little... i don't know if it matters much but my right eye is my dominant one so i move the adjustment bar (which should be centered) to the left. move it to the left until you see both blue and red images, don't worry you won't need red and blue glasses it's just showing you the two separate overlaying pictures... don't drag it too far or your eyes wont be able to focus on the 3 dimensional picture after you get it to your phone (you will just see two pictures and won't be able to quite focus on either if you do it too much). i usually do it to around -40.
after you get something you are comfortable with then go to file, save mpo file. move the saved mpo to your sd card, i don't know if it matters but i always put mine in /sdcard/dcim/ then you should be able to unmount ur phone or put ur sdcard back into it and find the 3d picture u made in your gallery.
now for videos
download stereomovie maker here:
http://stereo.jpn.org/eng/stvmkr/files/stvmkre121.zip
its more or less the same process, im just doing some testing now trying to figure out how to save it...
edit: figured out the video... after you get done with everything the same way i explained above (opening left and right, which should be the same since we are converting 2d to 3d, and going to easy adjustment and displacing the image with the bar above the video display) you want to go to file and save stereo movie, then create your file name and hit save, then it will ask about compression, don't leave as full compression, i changed it to microsoft 1 and that seemed to work for me.
after your video is done it will be in .avi so remember to convert it to .mp4 (hamster converter is free) and then you will have to re add the audio track using avidemux (which is also free)
attached is a mpo picture of a mustang from this last years detroit international auto show, i used the exact method i explained above to make it.
Bro. THANK YOU. Your work is hella appreciated. Looking forward to more info. Im one of those people that just never learned and converted my VHS library to DVD and then upgraded from DVD to BluRay so i have an extensive library. I tried the other doods instructions (suggestions) in the other post u refered to and after 16 hours and still no watchable movie it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth ya know? I'm staying at the hospital right now cuz my son was just born. As soon as I get home tomorrow I'm gonna try ur tutorial. Ill let u know how it turns out. Again thanks this looks promising.

this won't look good at all!
you need to learn how to create a depth map in photoshop and use the displace filter

im not trying to do all that. im trying to keep it possible with free software only, besides i doubt a depth field would really make a significant difference without a second angled picture. and my 3d pics look great and appear to have depth compared to their 2d counterparts, the ones i made with my simple method above i mean... i'd be more than happy to post one if you'd like. they are pictures of the detroit international auto show from last year so u know i didn't take them with the 3d camera on the phone.
also i figured out the video stuff. ill add to my original post.
Total Processing Time
Hey how long did the process of fully converting a movie to be watchable on 3VO take you? Total start to finish.
This worked okay with pictures - better than pressing the 3D button on my phone, so I figured would look better for video conversion too.
When I follow the steps you mentioned for video conversion using the Microsoft Video 1 compression, it does convert the file but took a 6 Mb AVI file and converted it into a file over 150 Mb.
This is no good if I want to convert a whole movie to 3D, it would eat up my entire hard drive and the quality seems poor also.
Does anyone have any better settings to convert it with 3D?
Cheers
I really believe I want an HTC Flyer. It is one hot piece of technology. I am having difficulty though justifying to myself that I would use it fully though. The reason why I say this is I have a fully rooted EVO, which already does everything. I hate to take away from my EVO, what it does so well- keeping me connected to everything.
I would like to get the Flyer for professional reasons. I teach HS math, and I write a lot on pdf files on a smart board and all that jazz. I would find use in the HTC Flyer with the pen functionality, but I don't think the Flyer has been designed for live presentations from my understanding. Does Evernote support live presenting? I hope someone could clarify this. I know the Flyer doesn't seem to have a video out connection like the EVO ironically does, and is useless.
I'm almost sold on this, but I just need a push I guess.
Its funny because I began looking at tablets to help a friend decide what to buy, and i think I'm going to buy one before him, if I can determine how to distribute my uses between the tablet and my EVO.
Thanks for your help in advance lol
It does have video out via mhl adapter and it works great, although I've never tried to draw with the pen and display it. I'll try it and post back

I'm not sure also of how well a pdf will display.
If I'm doing larger word problems on pdfs, I would have to probably switch between the word problem on the pdf and evernote or some other writing space to work out the problem. Doing all that on the pdf with the problem would just be cramped, I would think.
What u could do is do the word problem in steps and save them as "scribbles" in the gallery and use like a slide show
