I am rooted and have cwr red. I cannot update from ed01 to ed04. Is this because of cwr? How do I remive cwr?

There is a modem you can flash in the dev section. Its a diff file that will mod your modem to ed04...either that or u can use heimdall or odin to go back to dl09 stock and ota up

I have done that. Baseband ed04, but build still shows ed04.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Do you mean you want the OTA of ED04? Once you're rooted, if you haven't flashed a custom rom you should be able to check for updates and lose root. Unless the new CWM has also prevented this. In which case there are a few tutorial type threads to get you to ED04 even using Odin. If nothing else, look in the stickies in the development section. The thread with "Look at this!" In the title will revert you to unrooted, bloated, Binged DL09 and you can OTA to ED04 from that.

greetings all, my phone setup is in my signature. i am running eugene's latest Franken-TWIZ rom using baseband JI6 and JAC's 1.1 OC/UV kernel . I have set up my phone for use with odin with the proper drivers and plan on flashing back to stock in a month or so before the Froyo OTA.
my question is, can i simply run odin and flash it back to stock using this guide link posted from the bible directory?:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
i wanna make sure if this method is safe considering my kernel and baseband have been modified using Eugene's latest rom.
I am no expert but I flashed back to stock rom from ji5 which had a different kernel and all went well.
Yes it's safe. You are essentially erasing all data on your phone and returning it to stock so it doesn't really matter what base band, kernel, or rom you are currently using. However, unless you want extra steps in the restore, if you are using voodoo, disable it before you do anything!

Has anyone come up with odin files for the modem, rom, etc for EA28 release?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Why? I suppose there could be some value, but if you want to remain at stock VZW you should be able to flash either the full DI01 or DL09 packages and get the OTA update, right?

Correct, however it would save time to go straight to their last official update if need be. Also did they release an EA28 radio, or does the OTA use the DL09 radio?

I have a friend who has a stock fascinate (rooted to use wifi tether), and he is indeed on EA28 Baseband version.
Im also looking for Odin EA28 files
EA28 is NO different except the Emergency Call update they ran. It wouldn't look fishy at all to return a DI01 or DL09, all you'd have to say is you did not accept the update.
Here's some justification as to why it would be helpful:

I'm not anymore. I odined and OTAed to EA28 so I can get the radio, then rooted and flashed Superclean.

I would also like to flash up my modem... I have had a few missed calls and would really like to update just the modem... Would be a nice thing to have.
With all of these posts and articles going around that VZ will start tracking and throttling/disconnecting rooters by tracking if they are using the latest OTA version it would be nice if they could see we are using the last radio they officially support and expect.

How to back to stock 2.2 on vibrant with odin
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
Find stock 2.2 files in dev section, make sure their like a odin, but you can find some that are flashable, you'll, just be rooted and on stock, nothing else if you flash
just do the instructions above..if any problem just come back to this post
Vz wants to replace this fascinate and just wanna know what I need to delete to clear all root info and data from phone? Thanks in advance..

Your best bet is to odin back to stock dl09 and work the otas back up to ed01 (or is it ed03 now?). If you're already on froyo w/ edXX modem you can odin to ed01 stock bloated.
I'm not sure if you're returning your sdcard with it but if so you should backup and then format it.
Sent from my MIUI Fascinate, bro.
Ok completely stock froyo via ota now time to return to vzw

Is there a way for me to install leaked ICS on my non rooted at&t note, then if I don't like it, go back to gingerbread without rooting or problems?? Thanks for any help! I can't take not having ICS anymore!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
The leaks both have odin built in and don't require that you be rooted to use. Just download double click and enjoy.
There's a new more complete leak coming soon.

I understand that I don't need to be rooted. My question is...IF I would like to go back to Gingerbread from a leak without rooting, could I? That way I could get the OTA?

Wait for the new leak above. You can flash it with odin via your pc. If you don't like it (you will) you can flash back to stock also via odin. Its 100% easier just to root though. When the OTA comes out it will posted here in a matter of minutes for everyone to flash and enjoy.

Without root access you can't back up your apps and your phone.
But you can always flash the stock gingerbread with odin and raise your flash counter.
Thanks for all the advice! I have never used Odin before. I'm used to just dropping a ROM on the card and flashing or just plugging into my computer for something I downloaded. This is my first Samsung Galaxy device. Anything I should know before hand? My previous device was a Droid X.

You mean if the OTA released by AT&T.. I need to flash that with ODIN again?
If I go back to stock Gingerbread via ODIN.. then I can update OTA not necessarily using ODIN again.. right?
sorry for my dumb question..

Right. If you odin back to stock gingerbread you can wait for the OTA update. Whenever that may come. OR you can flash the update via odin when it comes out. Whenever it comes out officially you can use the method of your choice.

This is an extremely noob question probably but I need to ask. Could somebody please explain to me how to Odin to ICS and how to get back to Gingerbread using Odin? Sorry for the dumb question but again I need to know before I do this. Never used it before.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639729
if you dont like, odin back to gingerbread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330
I recommened you root, its easy
then you can simply flash ICS. if no likee, use your backup from Nandroid, which will save all your files , texts, programs, call logs, etc(when you odin to stock you'll have a brand new like rom,no data)
