I was reading this article http://bit.ly/o1fK41 and this user was able to play games on his phone with his PS3 controller.
I downloaded the Sixaxis Compatibility Checker to see if the Rezound was compatible or not. I tried a few times, doesn't seem the Rezound is one of them, maybe I did something wrong, but I don't think I did. I'm thinking it has something to do with Sense? Hopefully once we have a working ICS ROM, I can try this particular app again.
Until then I was wondering if anyone knows of an alternative application or way around this? I was going to try and do with my Kindle Fire, but I forgot my KF doesn't have BT. I've downloaded a bunch of PSX games, would love to play them.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys!
I second that, can't wait to use my ps3 controller with modern combat 3....I used to use my ps3 controller with my Evo, I'm guessing it only works with AOSP Roms?

Important - Due to the non-standard protocol that the controllers use to communicate with the host, this application requires root access. Additionally, it is incompatible with most HTC devices and some newer Samsung devices. This is due to the required bluetooth protocol not being implemented on these devices. We are actively looking into a work around, but currently the only solution is to install a custom firmware, such as Cyanogenmod, that supports the required protocols.

I used this all the time on my Bionic for SNES ROMs and it is one of the main reasons I am waiting for an AOSP ROM. As for other solutions, I haven't found any yet.
It looks like ics is the only way to get it to work on the rezzy. Hopefully it isn't to much longer until we see 4.0.3.
Until then maybe I can use my PS3 controller on my PC? I've been trying to figure out how to play my PSX roms on Win7, having a really hard time trying to figure out how to use this emulator, having a lot of problems! hmmm...

Nah, doesn't seem to work with ICS... well the ICS RC with cleanROM at least. I just tried today.
It's probably the same reason why Wii controller stuff doesn't work on Sense ROMs. I'm not even going to pretend like I fully understand it, but the tl;dr version is that Sense doesn't have a bluetooth stack that is compatible with the controllers, but AOSP does. And no, there's not a way to get it to work with Sense at this point in time.
It has to set up when compiling the kernel.

Got it running on my PC, laptop, and netbook. Shoot me a PM if you need a hand, but i've used ePSXe, PCSX2, Dolphin, all using DS3 Tool for the PS3 controller. Initial setup can be a pain, their docs and wikis are great helps.

It has to do with the bluetooth stack that HTC chose to insert in their ROM vs the bluetooth stack that comes with AOSP Android. We had the same problem on the Galaxy S. Samsung used a different bluetooth stack in their touchwiz UI. Until HTC and Samsung use a bluetooth stack that has the right protocol it wont work.
Has nothing to do with the kernel.

Is it really necessary to act like a child when someone clears up a question? His post was right. Yours was wrong. Accept it graciously and grow up. The Rezound forum is feeling like a daycare because of exactly this kind of BS.
Look buddy I don't mind I was wrong. I also don't mind being corrected. But just don't be an ass about it. So whatever I gave him a light tap. Thanks for being the android police the community really needs you.

It is not JUST the bluetooth stack, if it were, you could just replace the bluetooth stack from AOSP into a rom that it doesnt work in (sense, touchwiz), but it does not work. Sense itself disables many of the protocols for non-standard bluetooth types, why ill never know. They fixed it on i believe the sensation or something by making a custom kernel and now they can use the Wii remote in sense. Its nowhere simple in anyway. Of course, if we had AOSP, it would work out of the box and no hassle involved.
Because we can still boot into WebOS. I started thinking about all the folks complaining about what doesn't work on their Touchpad, and thought about someone who comes to the forums and might be afraid to flash because they'll lose the camera, or youtubeHD, or HuluPlus and just thought I'd remind folks that rebooting into WebOS is easier than some of the crazy work arounds people are trying. It's actually pretty amazing to be able to do what we do. Most phones that get an Alpha ROM with lots of bugs, have to deal with all of it......we can just boot back into WebOS and all is well.........so, Play with CM9, enjoy some apps and games, and the fun that it is, then boot into WebOS and watch a movie, or skype with your mom.........it's a GREAT friggen tablet!
So what doesn't work in CM9? I put CM7 on my tablet yesterday and the wifi not working and failing to connect all the time is driving me nuts. Almost to the point where I might just sell this thing.
Don't be foolish. There are threads 'aplenty dealing with and solving the wifi issue. Typically, it is caused by other routers near you using the same channel and changing your routers channel will solve the problem.
But if you are really so ticked off you want to sell, how much are you asking and is it a 32 or 16gb?

Lower the channel on your wifi router. Not sure what the bug is but that fixed it for me. (Iirc I had 11 or something, now 4 - works fine)

hd video is pretty much the only issue i ever have.
for me its skype. It's great to be able to boot to WebOS to video chat, but the WebOS skype program doesn't do landscape for some reason, only portrait - which is exceedingly dumb since the official case stands the touchpad up in LANDSCAPE

That only works if you can access the router. Kinda hard to do that at other businesses.
Will have to give CM9 a shot and see if it is any better.

same here. Hardware acceleration is really the only thing I ever miss in the ics alpha. Despite this it is my daily and my laptop is gathering dust in the corner.
So which Rom do I install for cm9. On cm7 now. Can i backup cm7 with cwm like I do on Epic and restore it later?
What's everyone getting all riled up for? The original thread said nothing specifically about wifi, and just stated about how nice it is to have a dual boot system. And what doesn't work in android does in WebOS. Why all the negative ninnies here ?

I guess I don't understand the title. Cm9 everything works.
Netflix doesn't work. But at least change the title to represent this subject right. Maybe choose: between cm9 AND webOS, everything works (except netflix)
Just a thought. Ur title lures people in thinking that cm9 updated so everything works. And that isn't the case at all.
Just a friendly reminder.

hardware acceleration works since alpha 0. Hardware decoding hasn't worked so far. you can turn off hardware acceleration in browser to see the difference. don't be disappointed, this is the fastest we can get.

I read this on Dalingin's Twitter. I guess I meant video codecs. The performance is great, I just want Netflix and HD Youtube.
Put on the alpha 0.6 after wiping with CWM. Works great. Wifi connects with no issues unlike CM7.
I keep seeing posts about HD video playing for Youtube and Hulu not working. I assume if I copied a bunch of HD movies onto it for travel they will have issues and general video playing would suck up battery life. Is hardware decoding in the works? Does CM7 suffer the same issue?
As far as video playback goes, I've been using arc media tab player. Using the regular. Avi files with very little problems. Its been great while on vacation and on the long flight.
Seems like the Bluetooth that HTC has installed will not work with a Wii remote, at least in the two Emulators I have tried, is there a way around this?
I've tried it on rooted stock and the infallibus deus roms, idf anyone has any thoughts/insight it would be greatly appreciated.

HTC Sense overlay in a rom does NOT enable the proper BT protocols necessary to run wiimote or sixaxis for emulation. Part of the reason i am salivating for ANY fully functional AOSP-ish rom regardless of performance.
Thanks for the info guys, hopefully we get one sooner rather than later.

well i got the gamestop tablet gamepad..WORKS on SENSE!!

it works great! i have my 64gb microxd loaded with every conceivable rom/iso that CAN be emulated on a rezound and it works great on ALL emulators that support key remapping.
one caveat though...had to revert to gingerbread rom for functionality to work properly in the emulators and the gamepad. small price to pay for this performance level in emulation though.
would be great if an admin could move this and sticky it in the accessories area, pretty groundbreaking info for anyone wanting to use a gamepad with a sense device..
Wanted to know if anyone who got this has tried it with any ICS Sense ROM and has it working?
EDIT: Tried BAMF 2.0, 2.1 and Senseless (all based on ICS) but could not get the controller to work with any of these. Switched to CleanROM 1.7.5 and works flawlessly now. Going to try and hunt for the BAMF Cubed files.
Hi there, it's me again!
After being away for quite some time due to a lot of issues with my netbook, and being busy with school, I recently checked the progress on the Flyer. As expected, Dexter did an excellent job already on Jelly Bean.
I tried the ROM, and I gotta say I'm quite satisfied with it. FWIW, I am thinking about getting the 3.0 kernel from the DHD to run on the Flyer. But, I have another project I'm thinking about which sounds more interesting.
So, is anyone interested in Open WebOS on the HTC Flyer? I am considering to give it a try this week, but only if there is some potential interest from the community. It would pretty much be an effort where I try to combine various challenges: getting WebOS to boot, and getting the Raspberry Pi to compile Android kernels, since my netbook does a horrible job at this.
Please report if it sounds interesting for you, and if I get positive answers, I'll do some research on the structure of OWOS.
Although WebOS seems nice I'd rather see you beat the crap out of JB and try to get it fully working until you say "I can't take this any further".

I'm not sure, I actually think JB has 1 major dev working on it. Sometimes it's better to have multiple, good, mostly stable options too chose from than 1 completely perfect one.
That aside, I don't use bluetooth headset so some people who do really want the devs to pool their work into that.
I'm all for web os though. And dual boot (don't push yourself ) would be awesome.

I am using the latest JB ROM atm., and I'm wondering (since I haven't followed the development the last 2 months): what is really broken atm? Aside from bluetooth.
Mine VM with Ubunto is stil there for u if u decide to give Flyer some more of your time. Am I interested? I am interested in Flyer with as much hardware working posible; working BT for voice calls, music and movei playback. As long as those work well i dont care even if it is Win 3.11EE if it runs nice and smooth. However Geting camera and hw movie playback suport on JB would be very nice and would get the ROM to TOP level. U cracked those nuts on ICS; any way u give it a try on JB?
Welcome Back CHAOS I agree with Antis (even though I don't really Know the advantage of WebOs) i was hoping that You could do something like get the front camera working for Skype

I'm starting to get frustrated by the stock ROM not supporting so pretty basic features like a full Bluetooth stack, and HTTP Streamer that allows resuming and moving around in a video. CM10 supports all these things, but seems to be behind in supporting HDMI out, MMS, HD Video capture, etc. Is it more stable yet? When will it be time to make the switch?
Flash it and try it for yourself. No one can be the judge of what ROM is best for you except you.
I use rootbox or PAC and no MMS issues. HD is iffy, I guess. Can/video not quite as good as sense, but not much worse. Just been playing with sense last 20hrs and can isn't as good as I recall, that must mean that the CM cam I've been using for quite some time isn't too shabby. If you try to pull a still while taking a video, it will be blurry, though.

Appears that Bluetooth works well, but still does not have AVRCP 1.3+ which would be nice for sending meta data to my car stereo. I can live without HDMI out for a while until smart folks figure that all out.
