[Q] X10 qualcomm bug compitable with x10 mini? - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi i just came across
xda x10 bug
it says the bug completely unlocks bootloader in Qualcomm chipsets x10 mini is also one of them so is it true for x10 mini too
it will be great news for developers if it is also possible for x10 mini

Well those phones have both Qualcomm chipsets. If this bug is QSD8250 Snapdragon specific then we are out of luck . If not, devices with RSA sig can be broke with this bug.

X8 got qualcomm too.

In other words we should keep our hopes high because this bug is not of semc but of qualcomm chipset
I am not a developer but lets hope some developer tries to use it
Its a great leap in cracking/using bootloader

It seems to be that x10mini/pro and X8 bootloader can be also hacked by this way as laser has replied on his own forum under x10 mini pro thread.

[Q] Why Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i?

hi guys, right now I'm using a HD2 w/Android on it ... And the battery sucks and I get no audio notification while charging, so I decided to change to either the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 or the HTC Google Nexus One... I'm on T-mobile T-Zones/Web2go
Why Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10i?
Can I get Gingerbread on the XPERIA X10i?
I'd get the nexus one actually.. There is no multitouch on the x10 and the only updates past 2.1 are custom roms...
The nexus one will stay current with updates and will have full functionality instead of a locked bootloader that hinders the phone like the x10..
X10 has multitouch/dualtouch...

Dualtouch yes, multitouch no... hence why i wrote no multitouch
And the dual touch is pretty buggy.
dual touch on mine works fine.. no problems at all... X10 looks nice, and UI is better looking than std Android..
In the end it comes down to looks vs raw power
any more info

Doesn't N1 also have Dualtouch only?
N1 if you want to flash your device regularly
X10 for a beautiful device with stable software
Yes I'm aware of the cross axis ' issue' never caused me a problem though

So Nexus One, is the move!
The x10 doesn't cost that much and the xda devs are making it upgradeable
the nexus one will have the latest android software available. whereas the x10 will be stuck on the older version of android

Dualtouch

Well, guys and girls, the Mini Pro "mimmi" has got a fully working dualtouch driver now. Has anyone fiddled with their minis in a similar way to know if real dualtouch is on its way?
I'm afraid it's not on the way nor will it ever be. Unfortunately the hardware just doesn't support it, unlike the mini pro.

i thought the x10 mini SUPPORTS DT but not MT(unlike the pro one)
Yeap, it should support DT, but we cannot get it the way the pro did. We need the hopefuly-to-be-released-soon kernel
Sent from my X10mini using XDA Premium App
Well, it can't take too long now, can it?
*Dreams about DT on Mini*
No real DT on the mini... Because of the hardware, as same as the big X10 !
The mini can just have a fake DT...
so never can we play games with two fingers? like nova
sorry for my bad english
*EDIT* Ignore post, I was led to believe the Mini had a DT capable touchscreen *EDIT*

The hardware AND digitizer both supports it.
The hardware supports DT, but the drivers don't. Mini pro has a MT compatible screen, we can just get DT at most, just like the x8. Anyway, the kernel has to be replaced.

Exactly. Mini has a Clearpad 2000 which supports DT at max, but that's enough for ALL games as three fingers is too much on such a small screen. I trust our extremely good developers, as I know they will have this fixed soon.
Don' t worry guys, our awesome kernel is on the way

I thought the x8 only supported one touch point.
Anyway, if it requires the kernel to be cracked then that's going to take a while.

it never needed the kernel being cracked. It can all be done with unloading the kernel driver and load the new driver as a module. its the exact same thing as if you would change the kernel.
The problem is the digitizer. And it will always be.

The digitizer in Mini supports DT as it is a Synaptics Clearpad 2000. The 2000 is part of Series 2, which is basically the same as Clearpad 2100. Both of which supports Dualtouch, but nothing more. Still, Dualtouch is enough for our small screens.

Ok, well my Mini is from 2010, and I know for a fact it's got a Cynaptics Clearpad 2000.
Nobody sees this, at step 14? It's Synaptics T1021A !
And nobody sees this? T1021A is ClearPad 1000 !
And nobody also sees this? ClearPad 1000 is Single-Touch !
I highly believe X8 also this digitizer. And guys, stop dreaming about DT/MT with custom kernels!

Is the third newest phone of Xperia Family..it isn't?
So the development just getting started? or this device wont get a good support from XDA?
Last time i use an X8 , a great phone supported by so many developer, i hope Xperia ray too
I also hope to more developers to develope roms for ray
Had to wait around a month before somebody at XDA decided to do a forum for the Ray, but they kind of messed up the logic of the tree structure. Just do not get why there is no section about themes and apps... Saw lot of ray owners posting the Arc section. (resolution is the same, would make sense to put them together).
As per MIUI there is a 99% working here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1301406

but still some bugs here
What doesn't work
Taking Screenshots with MIUI application (menu + volume down)
Flashlight when taking photo's (torch app works)
Google maps => to test if it still drains the battery
wifi tethering => it loads, but I can't connect my portable, to be tested by others.. usb tethering works for me

Thanks Blackwatch! ..cool!...Maybe you could request to separate Ray Forum from Mini pro , active? ...Most of the ppl in XDA dunno that there is a Ray forum..
Other: Thanks for the useful information.......
I dunno how to multi-quote =3=, Aha......
I also think the Ray should have it's own forum or at least be paired with the Arc forum, since it's basically a smaller Arc with the same hardware.
The Minis and Active are inferior devices.

Wrong. The arc and ray have completely different hw. I know because I have them both. The screen and colour is like 1000x better on the ray. I have never known an LCD screen with so much detail. The arc has a really weird bright tint to it so black looks gray as where black looks black on the ray. Also if they were the same also the camera would have red eye reduction flash like the arc but it don't as the camera and led is different also the CPU is different model. Arc uses snapdragon and we use qaulcomm. Also where the arc s has also different hardware by the slightest it would cause many to end up bricking devices because people like yourself (no offence) thinking it has the same hardware. I looked into this when I first got my arc s and noticed massive differences. I personally think the ray is in the right section with the mid range small screened devices. And the reason it had a desperate sub forum is because it is different to the mini devices. Not only that we already have the Neo, pro, and arc s in our forum and it would only confuse people with which rom is which for who and where and to much clutter. Also for the hw side if things again. The ray has two capacitive buttons and a front facing camera as to also a different s1boot model. You can check by going into a store with a display model of the arc and going into the service menu. I hope this explains things a bit for you guys and also I will say some of my info may not be all correct but its just what I have read up on some sites and circuit manuals.

the full Xperia 2011 lines uses the same MSM8255/MSM7x30 chipset...
the difference is in the screen sizes, touch screen, camera....
there are 2 boards that the whole Xperia 2011 line is based on:
Zeus - Xperia Play (r800)
Mogami - all the rest 10 devices (Arc, Neo, Ray, etc....)

FXP Wont work on JB but gave some interesting hints in X10 Development forum (FXP CM9.0 thread).
I guess that the most important thing might be preparing new kernel out 3.X branch (which was never done for X10)

The maker of our processor created Adreno 2XX driver for ICS and JB so theres a chance, just someone hast to work on it.

No it is the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon processor that is the problem, with gingerbread we were able to get about 54fps but ics around 30fps which I cannot live with. Because qualcomm cut support for it by way of drivers.
