hey , ive notice that most of my apps are not on the list for when it comes to updating & ect ? is it because i got the market update or my phone don't like me ? Thanks
Are you running a custom ROM?
If so a simple build.prop edit might resolve this.
Also are you using Titanium backup? If so then run market doctor through titanium.
Yes I am using a custom rom and i havent used tituam backup but i have done a backup before with recovery.

Only way I know is use titanium backup and run the market doctor. You have to buy the license to use that function I believe. I use it for backing up apps and app data only. Then I restore after I flash a new rom and everything goes back right where i had it before with the data. Saved games etc.

Hi! my problem is that i have flashed checkrom rev hd v1.0 and many apps is missing in android market e.g facebook. flash player and many many more. i have tried to flash other roms and factory reset but nothing happends. plz help
I know this problem. It seems that the market does not like custom roms. The easiest way to get them anyway, is to Google for the apk.
But be warned!

Download titanium backup > menu > market doctor
Restores the links of your downloaded apps back to the market..
If your on about your apps are missing from flashing a custom rom then get titanium backup pro..batch all user apps+data and then batch restore them after each rom you flash ;-) handy app

I've installed tytung's ICS NexusHD2 CM9 on my phone, and when I try to restore my apps via TB, they don't install. Any ideas?
Thanks

Didn't know that it's really not working but it is definitely not recommended to restore Gingerbread apps to ICS. Just backup app data via TB and install apps manually from market and then restore app data.
Best way, i think.
Hi
I got a cheap LG GT540 a wee while back and now I want to try and install a more recent version of Android (I currently have version 2.1 installed). I think I understand how to do this but the biggest concern I have is that my phone gets bricked and I have to reinstall. The tutorials I have encountered are mostly over a year old and I want to be certain that I can backup the whole image on my phone and recover it. I would be grateful if you could please confirm what the current best ROM Backup/recovery app to do this?
The best way if via Nandroid backups from your recovery.
(On CWM Recovery: Backup&Restore->Backup or Backup&Restore->Restore)
A Nandroid will give you a full image of everything, Titanium Backup will allow you to pick and choose what you do or don't restore. For both you need a rooted device.
Yeah, with Titanium Backup you can backup/restore the apps and settings you want. It´s very useful if you went to another ROM like MIUI or so.
I always use CWM recovery and Titanium Backup. Safe and sound
I just use a nandroid back up.
Titanium back up can extract bits from a nandroid backup as well.
in the play store u can even get apps backing up ur call lists and sms
Thanks everybody for replying.
I had problems trying to backup ROM, got impatient and finally managed to upgrade to CyanogenMod v6. It wasn't the strategy I had in mind but finally got there in the end!!
My Backup Pro is a good application!!
+1 for Titanium Backup
CWM is what I always use.
CWM is the best...
some app can't restored with titanium backup...
I usually just use the Nandroid backup inside CWM.
I am also using titanium backup (paid version), but I am told not to restore the system data of the previous ROM after updated to a new ROM, because the system data of the previous ROM will cause instability to the new ROM.
I am doing automated backups with Titanium (paid version), and I also make nandroid backup every now and then.
Can Anyone give me the .apk link of a backup/restory app? I looked for one in the play store..but they all are paid..I want to root..but dont have a credit card..please help

I'm also using the titanium backup, but you need the pro version to access some features. I'm satisfied with it.
So I must buy it? There is no free rooting and back up/restoring app? Is Titanium the best one?

Are you sure you had it installed when you did your backup? Just download it again from play store
I did and plastered says its installed
The screenshots the pro
I downloaded the basic version and its working
Strange?

The app from your screenshot is just a Key to unlock a pro version of an app. You need an actual app for this to work. After installing the basic version it was unlocked by the key into the pro version.
If you came back from an AOSP rom, look in /0 for a TitaniumBackup folder, which will have anything that you backed up while on the AOSP rom.
