Will we get a 4G toggle widget now? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Now that we have a (stock) way to toggle the 4G with the new update... can we expect to see a toggle widget for it?
thanx
Danny

you know i was wondering that same exact thing...i knew you could do that *#*#4636#*#* thing and get to that hidden settings for cutting 4G on and off but it would be awesome if you could get a 4G toggle widget like all the other widgets on the phone even though I don't get 4G yet (GET IT ON THE 21!!! so excited!!!)..and it would be nice if I had a step by step guide to just root my tbolt too haha so I could get the unlimited wifi tether instead of paying 30 dollars a month for it that sucks..

CM7 has a 4G toggle in the Power widget as well as the notification widget
@csrozier: As far as the step by step root guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1013013

I need one for stock Android, not rooted...
thanx though....

Was looking for the exact same thing for a non-rooted phone. Not sure if there's a widget to do this now that it's in the settings?

Does anyone know if there has been a Toggle widget created for the thunderbolt yet?
thanx

[REQUEST] Port JsChiSurf's Power Control Notification mod to the Photon?

Having owned my EVO since November of last year, one of the mods/apps on my phone that has been with every ROM is JsChiSurf's power control notification bar. It is THE most useful and crucial apps I have on my phone. Although I know there are other 'widgets' on the market that "sort of" replicate it, JsChiSurf's mod is the only one that allows you to have access to any of the power controls you frequently need from any screen quickly and easily, whereas, with most power control widgets, you have to go back to the screen where the widgets are located.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836721&highlight=notification+power
My Photon is arriving today and since it doesn't appear JsChiSurf made the jump to the Photon, it's the one mod that I'm going to truly miss. Because of that, I was wondering if any of you talented developers out there knows how to port this mod to the Photon? I'm willing to pay a bounty ($20, via Paypal) to anyone who can do it.

I agree. This has always been a great feature on past rooted phones. This type of mod is also included in CM7 and is better because you can change them on the fly without flashing and can have more than 6. Either way, would be nice to have.
I'm still waiting myself

+1 on this port

If I get some free time (depends on my stress test results tomorrow) I will work on this. I think this would be handy to have as well.

In the meantime, might try using Notification Toggle from the Market. Haven't tried it myself but looks promising.
*BINGO!!!*

Brother (or sister if you're female), thank you for pointing me in the direction of that app. I just installed it and it looks like the concept was modeled on JsChiSurf's notification bar (and considering the developer was from XDA, I wouldn't doubt it).
I just installed it on my Photon and it seems to work the same way. In fact, it's a bit more user friendly in that it allows you to select which toggles you want on the notification bar from a menu selection, rather than editing a text file. And although I haven't tested ALL the functions yet, so far, most are working on my Photon. I now have room again on my homescreen (temporarily had widgets installed) and can now access those functions from any screen.
Again, thank you very much! I guess I need to pull my head out of my *ss once in a while and take a look at what's new on the Market.
Try Widgetsoid from the market. It has the option to put the widgets in your pulldown. Works great

I tried this for a while. It's nice, but the Photon doesn't support the all-in-one notification, so each control takes a notification slot. It's nice, but I'm still holding out for Power Control Notification.

Didn't even know those apps existed...
Question for you about Widgetsoid. I installed it on my notification bar but can't figure out how to change to icon and background colors. Right now, both are white and it makes it hard to see.
UPDATE: NM - figured it out.

If you want to use flashlight as one of your widgets. Change the flash mode settings to mode 2 in the menu.

Noification bar clock

Anybody figure out how to remove the clock or should i just try this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078209
Really interesting...i like having the small clock there versus having a large clock on the home page..too much room and doesn't look very clean...however, thats pretty sweet that it can be done.

Make sure you are deodexed before doing this. The Atrix runs a different version of Motoblur than the Photon does so make sure you have backed up as there is a not so small chance it will screw up your phone.
Let us know if it works though (if you decide to try it).
If you get rid of the systemui.apk you'll get rid of the clock.....and your whole notification bar
Good luck with the baksmali edits gives me cold chills lol
+100 to no notification bar!!! Hahahaha. I wouldn't do that. And I agree, the big clock on the home screen is ugly, so I do prefer the one in the notification bar.
I would actually like to remove the battery icon next to the clock, as I use a different (better) program and don't need two of them. There was an easy way on the old Evo. Anyone figured that out yet? If so, is rooted enough, or have to be unlocked?

4G switch or widget?

I posted a similar post in the apps section, but I am perm rooted and I need a 4G switch, not a link to the system settings... Any suggestions? I need the on and off functionality, not a lame shortcut to the network settings.

I have not found a widget switch, only the apps you mention that shortcut to the menu to do it manually. I don't mind them that much so I have not searched very hard for a widget.
Well it seems the CM team is making strides in that dept! Let's hope to see it over this way soooon!!

Getting rid of lock screen notification..?

During school I put my phone on airplane mode and use Google Voice for text messages because it doesn't require signal. But on my new sense 3.6 Rom that I flashed there is a persistent Airplane mode notification on the lockscreen. It really bothers me... I'm wondering if there is a specific file that I could edit or delete that would prevent the notification from turning on.
Thanks

You can go into system/app and rename htclockscreen.apk to htclockscreen.apk.bak then reboot and you will get the AOSP lockscreen, but that has no shortcut icons and is much more plain than the Sense lockscreen.
If it bothers you enough and you still want a fancy lockscreen it might be worth spending $3 on WidgetLocker.

I want to keep the Sense lockscreen. I was just wondering if there was a way to suppress that annoying notification... I can look around and try to change the file that enables it.
an ADB Logcat should get me to the source

OK, good luck.
I've never seen a mod that removes the airplane mode indicator from the Sense lock screen but if you find one or make one yourself please share it here.

[Q] New notification bar icon

Mornin' folks,
I just unlocked and rooted my m7. Still on stock ROM. There's a new icon on my notify bar next to the 4G icon. It looks like a stylized 'N'. It won't go away and I can't find any reference to it. Anybody know what this is?
Thanks!!
Never mind, it's for NFC, mods, please close
