Hi all, I have the latest 20110601 aosp cm7 installed on my LG optimus V. I installed autokiller memory optimizer and set it to moderate. I didn't like the app so I hit default. But the default numbers aren't exactly what the numbers were, so what is the numbers that the aosp cm7 put on there? I just need the numbers for the three blanks Hidden app, Content provider, and Empty app.
If another user of this ROM could download this app and tell me the numbers, I would be very thankful.
AutoKiller Memory Optimizer only applies the settings on boot, so as long as you uninstall it, or uncheck apply settings on boot, the default values will not be changed.
Usually it's fine to keep the default task killer settings, especially since O1 has 400MB usable RAM...
why not install every script and app that can be found to get a hell machine?
1.) memory is very optimized through kernel - if you dont know about that, read some posts.
2.) speed is very optimized through the kernel - if you dont know about that, read some posts.
3.) do you know about lowmemorykiller and task priorities? if you dont know abouth that, read some posts.
btw:
where can i download AOSP CM7? do you know something about android versions?
if not, read some posts.

Ok, i have found similar requests on Desire and G2 forums - and have read lots about task killers (on ours and everywhere!!).
So, i see the un/educated opinions on the need to kill apps for performance etc, quite frankly - I don't use a task killer, i have system panel lite just to check on things with from time to time, but kill it when i've finished with it (lol)
What i do find however is that when some apps are pushed to background/sleep by clicking back to exit on 2.1 they can have a fair background usage - today for me it was dolphin and a dictionary app (both responsible for 1-2% use (with bat down to 80% - so they account for 5/10%)
I like to have my core/most used apps easily accessible so for the most part, I appreciate the way android deals with active/inactive apps, But.. For the few apps that i do like/want to use occasionally i would prefer to be able to kill them upon exit
So, on 2.2 roms (definitely Z's, probably others) you can enable this feature/setting. Is it possible to port this ability to 2.1???
Thanks for your time L:
ok, no early takers!! - please pm me if you have any info/suggestions please
Sorry if am spamming
i dont know this is of much use.. anyway its worth a try..
All of us know that our device(x10mini/pro) is having less ram..so we cant do multitasking as in froyo roms.
ive been experimenting with oom values for the past few days and this is what i found out::
with oom values 6,8,12,16,18,24 i got about 65mb free ram previously it was around 26
(i use aquarium wallpaper, ripplelock, dsp, active home and lot of widgets like executive assistnat etc)
every thing is kinda fast ,nolags, better multitasking, reduced hicups while playing music with these settings...
now i can play angry birds with music playing(without closing other apps)..
to change OOM values ::
go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276
install V6 SuperCharger script and choose Cust-OOMizer
change values to 6,8,12,16,18,24
done
thanks to zeppelinrox for creating the script
note
only first 3 no:s are important
These values are taken from my mind. so iam not responsible if anything unusual happens..
I've tried it, and yes the RAM is about 60MB, but in practice I still feel the same way before this applied.. for instance, when I opened website with native browser until it fully loaded to 100%, then I opened another app like NoteEverything, then I switched to browser again.. and I have to wait again the browser to fully loaded the page that has been fully loaded before.. so GB still killed the browser
nothing like that for me
to test i opened uc browser google music and handcentsms simultaneously...
then i switched b\w them.
what i got after changing oom
. things became more fast
. android used to kill ripple lock and wavelauncher quite often(ie when i play music, games etc) nothing like that after this.
. same multitasking like froyo roms
these values reprecent oom for
FOREGROUND_APP, VISIBLE_APP, SECONDARY_SERVER, HIDDEN_APP, CONTENT_PROVIDER, and EMPTY_APP respectively.
and internal taskkiller in android kills them when memory is less than oom value

Hi i rooted my xperia x10i after updating to 2.3.3 for the first time and deleted a few bloatware.
1 >>>Somehow i deleted the power widget too and at that time the widget was on my main screen(desktop) too..
After reboot, the widget was deleted and the screen where the widget was placed is blocked and I cannot place any widgets there, nor can i move any existing widget there.
If anyone could help, would really appreciate it...
2 >>> Also after every reboot, the default settings are not remembered by the phone.. as in the shortcut to sms to be used by chompsms, and default miss call by dialer one, etc... Please help..........
3 >>> The menu in which we can set our own order, the new feature which i really like also gets changed after reboot.. Dont know what is the problem, it just doesnt save the view..
BTW Stock Rom with root, FPS unlock, bloatware removed is Super fast and kool and extra smooth too..
Clear data and cache of your home screen app
Thanx! Gregbradley..
It solved the first problem.. Can you please help me with the other two?????

Which launcher and rom are using?
On cyanogenmod roms there is an option to keep the homelauncher in memory, that should help.
You could also use TB to freeze/delete the stock apps so the launcher cant find them and looks for the ones you use instead.
I actually use stock 2.3.3 and have deleted all un-needed stuff.. but in 2.1, it used to remember if I set a shortcut icon to use chompsms, also whenever there is a missed call, it used to determine by itself and open it via dialer one rather than phone... But now in 2.3.3 after every reboot it asks me what default option would i like to choose.. it does not remember...
Also the nicest feature to set the menu items in the order that i would wish, after reboot it forgets and all the icons are spread far and wide..
i know its complicated.............Can you please help??
Hi Everyone,
I'm working on a project on android tablet, and I need to limit some android and device feature.
We wrote apps and specific launcher which can intercept a lot of intent to limit access, but with newer version of android (since kitkat)
our solution doesn't work anymore, and the user is able to quit the specific launcher or the launched app.
I need some advice, before developping a limited ROM.
Specs :
1 - Disable device action (LongPress on switchOff)
2 - Disable message notification (Low Bat, SignalLost, ...)
3 - Hide the navigation bar
4 - Preload apps / Remove some apps
The limitation, is justified by the fact that human mistake shouldn't fail the device and the running apps
For the points 1 and 4. I read some tutorial that mention how to reaffect actions for a keycode, and which apps can be deleted in system/apps.
I need your help for point 2 and 3.
Thanks

For #3, one easy way is to disable SystemUI. This will get rid of the status bar and navigation bar, and disable recents. It may also solve #2, though I'm not 100% sure.
Just make sure to DISABLE SystemUI (i.e. from Settings->Applications), don't delete it. Disabling will stop the app itself from starting but allow it to be available for other apps which need it to exist. Deleting may cause your device to fail to boot.
Thank you so much kived, thats a good hint you gave me
I will test this in the few days, and try to disable this automatically after boot.
After that I'll just have to limit access to settings app to avoid user to enable it.
Will I have to deodex the ROM and replace the default settings.apk by mine ? or just adding settings.apk in app and android will launch mine.
Thx

i don't know if this is the right section if it's not please move it
i am a perfectionist when it comes to things being Clean i've installed lineage and a couple of mods and gotten my phone the way i want it, what bothers me is two things, the giant GOOGLE section in the settings panel so now theres two google settings one under accounts and one under the main settings panel, i want a rom where this is moved under accounts i hate any kind of branding i've gotten rid of all google like Icons and text i want my phone to visibly be as free from google logos or text as possible, Another issue i have is accessability i don't use it i only use and i wonder who messes with custom roms actually does use any of those help features, the one function where apps require it can be put under system , i'd like to get rid of that entire section and have the accessability for apps feature moved to the system section
these are things i'd like for a rom and i wonder if anyone likes the idea enough to do it, basically modify lineage and make those Changes, will Android break if you mess with the settingspanel? i just want to move things around to keep it cleaner i for example also wanted network settings and blutooth etc to be combined into one section all connectivity data, wifi, bluetooth etc.
actually i just noticed Android pie has the google settings removed
