Received a brand new Ace yesterday, and immediately rooted it with super one click with no problems.
However I then tried to run the 'Galaxy Ace Unlock apk' which I'd found elsewhere.
It generated an unlock pin, but after rebooting it stuck on the Galaxy Ace flash screen. After 5 minutes I pulled the battery out, waited, then rebooted. Now it doesn't even get to the Galaxy Ace screen when switched on.
The screen backlight comes on (with a black screen) for a couple of seconds, then off, then on - but it never gets any further.
So far I've tried
- Flashing Stock Froyo via Odin
- Flashing VillainRom via Odin
In both cases the phone enters download mode, Odin completes all steps without error, but on reboot I am left with the black screen of death again!
Anything else I could try?
I have the same problem.
Have you found a solution?

I forgot to say that I put a sim card (from other country) inside the ACE to check if it was unlocked.
Can it be the problem?

The same thing happens to me, Anybody has any idea?
Just send it to the service center.
No other recovery method is know.
I have been in every forum arond for this kinda brick and there is no solution for YOU to do. Also there is absolutely no way for Samsung to see either say that after the first boot the battery went dead and it never started again. It will be covered by your warranty and brand new ace! Now dont go making stupid mistakes again hope i helped

Apk/sim bricked my phone.
Unlock Apk also bricked my phone in the same manner.
The app generating the code is not the problem on it's own, it's when you put the "other" Sim card in and reboot that does the damage.
I got a buzz when i could still get Download Mode and Odin gave me a PASS when i reflashed, but alas the phone never rebooted and it still flashed black at me.
I'm trying everything to bring it back to life before it goes to the Service Centre and i have to give them some blag as to why it's bricked.
Other than Download Mode i can get "Emergency Dload Mode"(ARM9) & RAMDUMP.

Even Samsung don't have an easy way to repair it, hence they replace the mainboard to fix the issue.
I followed the instructions to unlock the bootloader root the phone and install gingerbread using this method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163342
My phone is not stuck at a black screen all the time I don't see boot screen or anything, it seems to boot up fine though.
I am able to get into RSD and fastboot mode.
Ideally, I would like to go back to factory froyo so I can do the default upgrade to gingerbread.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello, How did you get this fixed
Sir, today i tried to root my DHD running android 2.3.3 with the advance hack kit. after going through the effinn manual i started the process, it completed successfully but once the phone booted.. all i got to see was the white screen with the green htc logo. i tried to root again after some time and now the phone got WORSE. Htc logo with 4 warning signs at the corner. I tried a lot of things.. and finally installed this RUU (official) through my pc...while the screen still showed same htc logo with 4 warning signs in the corner..
RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.72.405.3_R_Radio_12.28e.60.140f_26.04.02.17_M2_release_161342_signed.exe .
Now my phone takes around 20-25 minutes to boot. and runs android 2.2.1 .
what do i do now? try n root the phone again with the advance hack kit or if i take it to the htc service center and ask them to re-install the software for my phone? or is there a way i can myself reset if to the factory settings?
Please. PLease help!.. this is deep mess.(for me atleast)

Thank you for you help sir. I would like to know if there is a way by which i could return to the original, factory settings. If i take my phone to a htc-authorized service center, would they be able to restore the original software?

ThANk you for your help sir. but my phone wont go into fastboot i think. Because i even checked with root check pro and it shows that my phone isn't Rooted . Also.. if my phone shuts down and i have to restart it, i press the power button and my phone starts 20mins after that.
Also, the charging light still remains for 1-2 minutes even after i remove the charger.

Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

Hey guys,
Anyone happen to be kind enough to inform me as to how I can reinstall the red Motorola logo that normally appears upon boot with Sprint's Photon owned by people who aren't a complete ditz and didn't accidently hit the "format internal sd card" during the CM9 flashing process. As soon as I hit it, I restarted the phone and instead of the logo, I had a black screen with white text listing out all of the bootloading options I had, it also told me that the os was going to load in 5 seconds; similar to grub for PC.
I'd love to be able to show my customer loyalty!
Thank you so much in advance!

The logo I was referring to was the one where if you had unlocked your bootloader, where it says "unlocked" above the red logo upon boot. Would the boot animations you advise simply replace my blue CM9 android buddy and still not show the logo instead of "android's version of grub"?
Errm my bad dude. Thought you meant the moto boot animation. No, that logo is a different thing entirely but i dont know why it would just up and disappear. What mods and such have you made recently?

Read this thread to flash another boot logo. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1248221
Or you can SBF after flashing the pdsfix.zip from this link as it will let you "activate" and update your profile and PRL later. This is the link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1575035
Edit: If you have a back up of your pds partition do that instead of flashing the fix.

This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! Thank you so much!
Only problem now is I don't have the Photon's correct logo as the zip in the OP for it was corrupt. lol At least I have the Atrix 4G's one for now!
I have used SP Flash Tool to flash a supposed JB rom (http://www.moulnisky.com/index.php?dir=Iball/Slide 3G7271/) for my slide. It resulted in the screen "Encryption Unsuccessful". So banged my head for sometime and final figured out how to flash the back up I made before (have to select the correct recovery. [email protected] oscarblue48).
Now its working fine! This is where I should have shut up and go about normally. BUT NO, the effin itch . I don't know why, but I went to 'Backup and Reset -> Factory Data Reset'. That's it. I shouldn't have done it (DAMN.) The phone kept looping between logo and recovery where the progress bar is going on. Both these screen repeat one after the another.
So again flashed the Backup but no luck this time. So I flashed the 'JB ROM' and flashed the Backup. This time its a black screen (that is lit) and can't be shutdown. Hence no way to flash anything! I pressed the power off for more then 10 secs - no, pressed all the buttons - no, removed the case - the battery is not exactly removable.
What can be done now?
Edit : I have rooted the phone with MTK droid tools just before all this.

Have you tried this? don't know if it works or not, but if you can turn off your tablet maybe you can flash your backup again.
