yes I tried running as Admin. As for the cable I don't have another one to try it with.

install fryoy bootloader from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117990 then odin to stock...should work...
So I guess the problem was with my desktop. Since I tried on my friend's laptop (windows 7) and it worked like a charm. Flash Asgard and it works perfectly.

Ok, I was restoring my phone to stock with odin following these stpes
Disable Voodoo
Odin to eugenes froyo that wont brick
sticks at vibrant screen
tried odining to JFD
odin completes but still hangs at the vibrant screen
I have tried with and with out repartition checked and I am able to enter and exit download mode freely, I have tried 3 differnt versions of odin and 2 different downloads of the pda and pits. Any help would be great.
EDIT, Odin is finishing at the pass stage when the phone attempts to boot Currently flashing the JI6 seeing if it works.
Still not getting anywhere, I have now tried to odin to eugenes froyo, JFD, JI6, all which end the same with out a boot screen, I can get download but no recovery.
From my understanding when you flash eugenes froyo that wont brick the boot animation should change to the international one, mine has not done that so I am starting to wonder if there is an issue with the flashes themself.
How long did you wait after flashing the stock firmware? The first boot usually takes a while after an Odin. Did Odin finish flashing everything to the point that it said restart in blue?
You can find instructions to revert to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
I've gotten myself out of some pretty bad "bricks" with JFD and ODIN... make sure you also use the stock .pit file and you can check repartition, use JFD and should fix you right up.
I have waited for 10-15 minutes after it says restart and then sometimes after it says pass, and I have done to jfd and stock pit.
left phone at boot fell asleep woke up hr or so later still at vibrant screen, still cannot access recovery but can access download mode.
To OP. What custom rom did you run before flashing back to stock? Have you recovered?

I was on axura the newest one and did not like it that much tbh had tons of processes starting nonstop and was constantly down to 35m of memory while idle. No I have not recoverd, I have flashed every combo I can think of with ODIN but alas have had no luck.
Currently it is being warrantied out for a free replacement.

So tired.... I am in the same boat. But I get to flash Eugenes froyo but i have 0 room in app storage. Then When I try to Odin to stock JFD and stock .pit it all goes well untill I get to recovery and it tells me in red text "data wipe failed"
The phone reboots and goes black after the galaxy s animation.
You think samsung will fix it for me? I go the phone in July 2010.
To OP.
have you tried flashing eugenes froyo that doesn't brick? I can't understand why a lot of these bricks are happening right now. Especially when you do flash your phone back to stock.

How would I know if samsung will fix it.. I called tmobile said it got bricked while doing JI6 boom problem solved. Their support is not that great though he was having me try to access root by calling it a secert master menu, then asked if i tethered my comp to it but his definition of tether was syncing files I was just playing dumb and letting him ask me his questions

Rooting your device and flashing custom roms onto it voids your warranty from t-mobile. You are wasting your time trying to see if they will help, This is NOT in their job description. They might laugh at you.
@OP Try flashing to a TRUE stock firmware, I personally would not flash from a custom rom to another custom rom, does that make sense? You should go back to t-mobiles legit 2.1. There is a link in the Bible here under the Dev forum. But, The link is broken. So Ive uploaded it here http://www.mediafire.com/?8kw71bx06an0vwg
Don't give up on odin yet, try things like changing your usb ports on the computer, this has worked for me. I also have a video tutorial using odin, it might be of some help to you. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10207377&postcount=1

I also was going from axura to stock to a custom rom not from one to the other and I do know how to use odin, I know what I am doing just need help figuring this one out has to be something im missing or its just not gonna work. 50 odins and nothing kinda says it all.
I am in the same boat.. tried ODIN + stock ROM from various sources, nothing seems to work.. am I out of luck ??
I was running Bionix-v 1.1.2 and the DOW kernel and everything was working great. My phone then got stuck on the DOW boot up image so i used Odin to flash back to stock like I have done countless times. I am able to get the phone into download mode and I start Odin and it states All threads completed. (succeed 1/failed 0) >Removed. At witch the phone would normally boot into recovery mode and Odin would finish doing its thing but my phone will now just show the battery charging picture, go black, then the battery charging picture again until I unplug the usb. The phone will power up to the Vibrant splash screen then go black. I can get the phone into download mode but I always get the same results when I try to flash with Odin. Any help would be appreciated... Thanks.
try another .tar... you can grab some in the noob guide/alt method in my signature. Its KA2 froyo leak + root. Others are in the Deb Bible too...
k i flashed another .tar(KA2 froyo leak + root) it boots into recovery and I get the following:
E:Can't mount /dev/blocked/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount SDCARD:
copy default media content failed.

I got the same error when running some test kernels. Try flashing JFD also flash the 512.pit file and check repartition in Odin . If that doesn't work flash Eugenes froyo that doesn't brick .
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I downloaded a new copy of JFD and 512.pit checked repartition. Still was not able to get into recovery after Odin even with the new copy. Eugenes froyo that doesn't brick gave me the same can't mount error message.
Having the same issues.....JFD simply won't boot, Eugene's Froyo that wont brick makes it through the boot animations and then locks with the touch buttons lit up, Eugene's JK2+2E boots fine, but has this problem (internal and external storage show up as unavailable). I'm pretty sure it's related to using ODIN with Voodoo enabled and I've been going crazy all day trying to find a fix, but to no avail so far. ANY help would be incredibly appreciated!!
Try older odin programs. Yes u read that right.

Drewdude, since we're having the same problems, we should confer about it through some IM system in a little bit... two heads are better than one, right?
Well I have also tried Heimdall as well... no success with Heimdall either. So my final solution to the problem is I called T-Mobile and told them my phone would not turn on. My new Vibrant will be here in 3 days at no charge.
OP,
I just experienced the SAME Exact problem. THE VERY SAME.
Something tells me it's the DOW kernel.
W.T.F.
I've tried all the ODIN files that are available.
In each one, I get Vibrant, then it goes blank and turns off. Nothing else.
My phone is fried.
More likely than not, youre not fried, just soft-bricked same as me. Can you get your phone into download mode? Hold vol + and vol - while inserting your micro-sd cable...it should go to a picture of a yellow android with a shovel. If you can get to this mode, your phone is NOT fried.
THat's the only mode I can get into bud.
I've tried to load JI5 Ji6, Eugene's nonbrickin g Froyo.
None of the roms get past the vibrant screen.
THey just shut off.
Well I have been working on it for a day straight and no luck. I have talked to several people and the phone has readonly partition now so it is ****ed! Nand death!
Try these step from oka1 . He say to flash Eugenes froyo without repartition checked then pull the battery when tries to boots . Then flash JFD with repartition checked.
Probably you will need a couple of things in your tool kit.
You will need Odin 1.3 or higher
Pit file (there are 512 and 831) Guessing you will need the 512pit
Original JFD stock file 2.1
Eugenes froyo that does not brick
Remove the sim and the sd card, remove the battery have Odin up on the computer> then hold down the 3 buttons and plug in the phone to the usb connected to computer. If this works and Odin sees the phone (does not matter if it says com5 or 6 etc.) then you can go from there, If not then you will need a jig, people here sell them, i saw connextion2005 sells them but there are others (like 8bucks) or you could make it is 301k resistors tied to one 2 pins of the usb (do a search if you are interested).
Then the sequence for the fix is to flash the Froyo first that does not brick (do not check repartition) once it begins to reboot pull the battery out (does not need to reboot) then flash the JFD on top and this time check the repartition
Let this finish reboot> then use super one click root or other of your choice. Then download CWM and Titanium backup...... flash your new rom and you are back in business.[/QOUTE]

Somebody in the DOW thread said to use ODIN to flash the original Bionix Kernel only.
I don't see how that's helpful now since I've already flashed all the other 2.1 Tmobile roms.
This is F(ked.
unless somebody knows how I can flash a bionix rom using ODIN? I might be able to get that Bionix V stock kernel on there too.
Thanks

Okay, I managed to soft-brick my vibrant flashing EDT's 2.2.1 RC1.
I've never used Odin before, but have spent hours learning what I can, downloaded everything, followed all instructions, Odin failed.
When I tried again, I can't get into download mode. I'm stuck with a screen that looks like: Phone--!--PC (That's the phone icon--Yellow triangle with ! inside--icon of a PC.
What can I do to save the phone, or is it trashed?
Odin to stock jfd.
Had that too it's fine
Sent from my Galaxy S using Tapatalk
It wasn't connecting to Odin, but I tried again and it is now, even without it showing as being in download mode.
Edit: Okay, Thank you. I don't know why it didn't connect after it failed before, but I'm unbricked and back to stock.
Now, to root it and install stuff without The Wife noticing.
That screen that shows the phone and pc does work for download mode. I had this awhile back.

Did you come from a rom with voodoo enabled?
Use Heimdall
Install Heimdall on your PC http://board.teamwhiskey.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=1196
Connect phone to PC after installing Heimdall
use Heimdall command
heimdall close-pc-screen
It may get you out of pc--!--phone
NOTE: I had better luck on Linux then on PC with close-pc-screen
I came from Bionix 1.2, voodoo enabled, and at the time, the op didn't say to disable voodoo. I was so tired from working 60+ hours last week that I didn't think to question voodoo, as I'd been flashing TW roms with voodoo enabled and no issues.
Regardless, it all got solved. Just for a short time odin wouldn't recognize my phone and I thought it was due to this error. It ended up working fine.

OMG, please help!
I was using the upgrade modem guide over in Development section:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097355
I was odining the dl09 modem only file to my ComRom 2.0 with EC01 so I could upgrade through CWM to ED01.
However, Odin hung up for hours and did nothing, so I disconnected. Got the screen with picture of Phone - Exclamation Mark - Computer. And I can't get out of it! I've tried holding volume up and powering on with usb to computer plugged in, same screen. Tried volume down while powering on, same screen. Tried both bottoms, while powering on, same screen.
I understand that theres a link error, but, what the hell? I've been searching online with no luck.
Please help me fix my phone!!!
well
chk this - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026746
OR you can try these i aint no specialist but these are harmless things.
TRY REMOVING the battery and then booting
1.. remove battery > hold vol down and plug usb in
it should be in download mode ( u alreday know that
) and try flashing the dl09 modem again
( i am assuming your odin .exe is not crrupt and you are using PDA option )
2. otherwise odin the stock dl09 ROM
I am not a specialist but thought of helping
Try this...go here--->http://www.multiupload.com/I9HBT8MXN1 its the eb01 tar..use the atlas 2.2 pit with this and repartition checked and you push it with odin...i use odin v1.7 try that and then let it boot up.... you can always just flash the dl09 radio after if you really want that radio...for me the dl09 package wouldn't flash either but eb01 worked fine and will get your phone recovered, completely stock and un rooted, after that you can go about flashing whatever rom you want in the regular fashion...i hope this works and if not find dalev's method to recover any bricked fascinate...the link in the previous users post above mine

Hi!
After flashing my stock Gingerbread rom to CM9 (through CWmod) I decided I wanted to switch to a more stable ICS rom (was running an old version of CM9). This time I tried to use odin and got a fail (NAND), giving me the "Connect to kies" screen. Unable to get into recovery, but can get into download.
So after this I tried flashing a few kernels (after failing to use the softbrick recovery method on this forum), all of which passed and left me at the Samsung splash screen (still unable to get to recovery). I then tried flashing Siyah and lo and behold it allowed me to get into recovery, prompting me to flash FoxHound via zip (one of the only .zip roms I could find). After this I tried to use ODIN again, only to have it fail on me again. This time siyah would not even work, and after trying many other kernels (all of them saying they had passed) a earlier version of siyah worked, and I am now running the FoxHound rom that was on there.
I would quite like to go back to the official Gingerbread rom and then update through KIES, can anybody shed some light on whats happening? Do I have a NAND corruption even though I am able to use the phone at the moment with foxhound? If I wanted to put Gingerbread back on will ODIN play nice?
Thanks!
P.S. Did all the usual of using different cables and making sure kies is not running whatsoever!

Just download an official Gingerbread Firmware from Samfirmware and flash it through Odin. It should work. You will then loose CWM and Root of course but after that you should get updates via Kies.
And do not check Re-Partition in Odin when it`s not a 3 part Firmware.
Maybe try mobile odin pro-that eliminates ALL pc problems.
