It is, I use one. But why would you buy a 32MB card when you can also get a 32GB card?

It's a class 2 just in case that's important to anyone.
Sorry, what a class 2. Is that a generic card?

The class of the card relates to the speed which it can read and write information. The higher the class the faster the card.

Class 2 means absolute garbage. Well for me it is. They are usually crap and it is the speed rating, which is usually under. So that means that even though its rated @ 2MB/s you will probably never see that.
I just ordered a 32gig class 10. Will let you know how it goes. Should be just as good as my last one, got over 14MB/s write speeds and 22MB/s+ read so.
When you put your music and files on it it doesn't take 30 minutes to do. Also when you are recording in hd and stuff you aren't getting glitches and whatnot. For me I wouldn't get anything less than a class 6. Your choice.
The one I got : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211558

$70 super pricey. But I sure could use one

NC Freezes here and there

I have rooted my nc and its running android 2.3.7 on a sd card. There are times that it works great, but there are times when I click on an app it freezes and I have to do a hard reset. What could be the problem.
What brand is your SD card?

That is your problem they only SD card with good performance is a Sandisk class 2 or 4 8GB or above. There isn't really anything you can do other than get a new card.

+1 on his advice. Was getting random force closes on Transcend class 6, have had no problems with 16gb sandisk class 4 I was using for as install or the sandisk 8gb class 4 test card for new builds.

Gotta go with Sandisk as well.
Tried Transcend, PNY and Kingston cards of 4-16G capacities and c6-8 speeds and they're all handily beaten by my Sandisk cards so far as stability.

i get alot with my transcend too. where would be the cheapest place to buy the 16 GB?

what about speed wise?

It is speed. Sandisk has the fastest random write speed which is what seems to cause those lock ups. SD card class is just measures one (relatively unimportant) indicator of SD card "speed" (sustained read).
Sustained read and write are great if you're using your card to backup large media or picture files but more or less worthless for running an operating system. Same principle is in place for SSD. Manufactures advertise sustained transfer rates but the important stat for a OS drive is access time (which determines the speed of random read/writes).
Here's a link to a 32gb sandisk for $30 http://slickdeals.net/da/mem-i/p46847290/k4569/u125110/r4
These work just as well as the 16gb ones.
Got this 32gb class 4 few weeks ago - runs great...

32gb is theoretically the maximum, since 64gb cards will all be part of the new SDXD standard. Then again, several people have found that the 64gb SDXC cards work in their SDHC devices so we'll just have to wait until someone tests one in the nook color to know for sure if it'll support it (I wouldn't hold your breath, our hardware is fairly old).
I can certify that the 32gb works fine, as can numerous others who I've seen post.

Micro SD card help

Hey guys, I ordered my 32GB Prime, super excited about it, and I want add another 32GB memory card but I don't know much about the different classes. Is there a huge difference between them? Thanks for any advice.

From Wiki:
The Speed Class Rating is the official unit of speed measurement for SD cards. The class number guarantees a minimum write speed as a multiple of 8 Mbit/s (1 MB/s).
Classes
Class 2 - 2 MB/s
Class 4 - 4 MB/s
Class 6 - 6 MB/s
Class 10 - 10 MB/s

Basically the Class you "need" will depend on the kind of data you will store and how do you plan to use it... For storing and editing plain docs I wouldn't mind having a low class SD, but it would make it harder for your TF to write other files as HD Videos as fast as it should.

Just make sure it's a Sandisk micro SD in my opinion. Their C4 cards tend to be a lot better and more reliable than most peoples C10 cards.

Would be interesting if it did. But dang, for that much $$ you might as well buy the 64gb Prime...and then some.

Well I'm not saying I would buy one of those, the cost is prohibitive, just wondering if it was even an option.
you can get a class 10 for $40-60, so even if the Prime cannot use a class 10, why not buy it to future proof the purchase and then when something comes along that can use a class 10, you have it.
Iam looking for a well rated, 32gb class 10.
Hopefully it will support microSDXC, so when the prices of them start to come down we can extend the memory massively!
Just format the sdxc with a file system the Prime understands. sdxc is just using exFAT. I'd format it with FAT32 or NTFS (if the Prime supports it).

The SDXC card was tested on the TF101. No problems there. I'm pretty sure it will work on the Prime as well.
This article states that SDXC cards will work on the prime.

What an horrible article full of wrong facts...
Nobody knows if SDXC will really work but it's almost sure it will.
And why the heck do you guys think the Prime won't support class 10 cards?! Even my old Desire HD supports them with no problems
Wow. That article is full of fail. Its said that the TFP had a 5 Mega pixel camera. I wouldn't trust much in it.

From what I understand, SDXC just added the exFAT requirement for the for it to be SDXC. From what I originally read awhile ago, sdhc hardware will support 2TB cards. There are a lot of people using the 64GB MicroSDXC and 128GB SDXC in devices at said that they only support SDHC cards. They just formatted them to a file system the device can understand.

SanDisk 64GB sdxc $79 at Best Buy Class 6

Hope this hasn't already been posted, figured it was a pretty good deal.
64GB Sandisk
Thank you so much for posting this deal! I surfed through my wallet and through all of the left over best buy gift cards I had I ended up with a free 64gb microsdxc! This was an amazing deal to begin with, but you just cant beat that!
Nice, not to bad at all. Glad you got one!
Don't forget to reformat the card in your phone - or else it won't work.
I've had mine for 4 months I think? It's great - I love it. I won't be able to live with less memory ever again - which will be a problem with most of the next gen phones seemingly going away from memory cards.

I'm not sure, but I don't think so yet (64gb).
This link shows benchmark pics of a class 10 16gb vs. SanDisk class 6 64gb, and the SanDisk is actually faster than the class 10 card.

I wish I knew what brand that class 10 card was. It's garbage. I just ran that tool thrice and my average read/write was 10.9/4.9MB/s respectively with a Class 4 SanDisk 32MB. That said, I'm also pretty pissed I paid 65 dollars for this card when I could have gotten better speed and more powahhhh for not much more if I waited. FML.
In case anyone doesn't know, the class rating on these cards is the minimum write speed the card will achieve, provided you're not copying a movie from a USB 1.0 PC or something else that would bottleneck it.

To be fair you can't go with the read/write on a card unless you test empty. My 32GB card surpasses the Class 10 it is if empty but get near full and it' just below a Class 6. So the tests mean absolutely nothing unless you are testing with an almost full card. It's time I moved to a 64GB card my 32GB is too full with the games on it.. LOL
Wrong.

I ran my tests without removing any files and it still exceeded the write speed for it's class. My card has 20GB free of the 30GB available.

get one of the card in the link above. microsdxc cards class 10 are the faster supported I believe. I bought a 64gb one from amazon. Chech out some of these deals:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=microsdxc
im getting around 13.5MB/s write and 45.1 MB/s read speeds with my card
class 10 work i have a class 10 64gb
thanks. I went with a 16gb class 10 since I don't really need anything as big as 64gb. Now onto screen protectors....
thanks
