Quick question for those who have already got the 3D:
Is it possible to view 3D photos taken using the phone in a non-3D enabled desktop/laptop, say with the help of passive (red/blue) glasses? If possible, have you tried it? How is the image quality?
TIA.
No sir....

I read somewhere that it is possible. Using the latest Nvidia driver, 3d glasses, and something else I cant remember. Look into it.
That's a bummer. Can we at least see the photos in 3d enabled laptops/monitors? If we are confined to only the phone, that's a definite negative.
You can upload them to image hosting sites or convert them yourself to view in 2D, but I don't see being able to see them in 3D on a non-3D monitor...kinda why companies sell 3D monitors/tvs
Like dude a few posts up said , look into the NVIDIA 3d conversion thing

Seeing as how we have almost identical specs was wondering if we can get this ported over for the Evo 3D.

The camera's between the two phones are not even in the same ballpark.
Oh how bout that! Forgot they had a single 8MP camera. Damn stupid 3D camera! Not only do they suck at taking 3D stuff they also suck at regular pics! Saw this posted somewhere else I thought it could help our camera.

Camera works fine for me....
It's just bigger, not better.
We might not be able to use that file but our Dev's should at least be able to accomplish the same thing. I would guess the settings would be the same.
I find the camera to take decent pictures but if they get rid of the compression it would probably be a lot better of a camera. The picture quality in that thread looks fantastic with the modded settings.
This must have been asked but i honestly couldn't find the thread and i have been trying for some time. My question is this, would having our phones shoot 2d content with both cameras and lace it together allow for higher quality pictures/video? Like could you shoot in 3d then use an app or maybe even a program on your computer to splice the two images and get a higher res final product?

I've been thinking this for a while.. but the thoughts ive come up with are that we dont know if the cameras have an angle to each other or where we would attach each picture relative to the output by each camera.. and would this change dynamicaly in each photo or something else...
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA Premium App
We would need an app to display raw output individualy from each camera... I doubt that it can be two side by side 5m pics but at least 3/4 of each camera would be good...

The technique that you are referring to is High Dynamic Range photography. Although you can't do it with side-by-side cameras, you can use one of the cameras to take a picture twice and combine them for much better quality pictures. There are a couple of apps available in the market that let you do this. HDR Camera is one (there is a free and paid version) another is Pro HDR camera. I think this will give you what you desire.
Well Im thinking higher resolution. Combine cameras for a higher res pic... Obviosly widescreen...

Yes exactly. If we knew the exact angle specs couldn't you compensate? Cool idea anyway. I think it'd be neat to get to work and it still seems like a software thing to me. But then again this isn't my area of expertise.
boom!! from my shooter
Do you use your Galaxy Player 5.0's camera? What app do you use, or you use stock. Post some pics
Just wondering the quality, cuz my quality on is bad-decent. Just wondering if I could make it any better.
I rarely use it but I use the stock app. Quality wise it's good no complaints here's a back yard photo

I have the 4.0, not the 5.0.. But I always use the camera on it.
I usually use Pro Capture rather than the stock camera though.
I think the quality is pretty decent actually. Better than I expected it to be.
Kinda wish I had a flash like the 5.0, but whatever. lol
The quality is better than a family members 7-8 MP Kodak digicam, for sure. lol
Here's a recent shot from a hike~ (resized for forum)
2 moon shots from my GP 4.0~
and one from the Kodak digicam~
I think The Galaxy Player wins. lol
:good:
Cool moon pics!

Holy cow, how do you get such big pictures of the moon without optical zoom? No optical zoom is the reason my galaxy player (or any other smart device) will ever replace my camera.

I just held my galaxy players cam lens up to one of my telescopes eyepieces. lol
that was a 5 inch- Newtonian scope I think.
This was taken with my 5.0, no edit at all. You just have to know how to use the camera to get good quality pics. I have more pics like this one

I don't ever use the camera. I'm on ICS. Troll

Even when I was on Gingerbread, I never used the camera. It is inadequate and insufficient to get what I want out of a photograph. There is no "real" zoom on the lens and the megapixel count on the device is never going to produce any pictures of print quality.
Thus, for my photography needs, I go to a Nikon D7000 DSLR. In contrast, however, my wife uses Canon's Powershot Series camera, which is a very powerful, much cheaper alternative to a DSLR.

I dont agree,i printed more then 100 pictures and they are very good(off coure not pro but dslr you care only in some situation and phone or player is always with you) ,there is no real zoom on any smartphone and there will not be in near future.

I love the camera on my player but I'm willing to not use it for the small time being because CM10 is coming out with a 3.xx kernel so the Camera will be working in no time.
I'm a bit reluctant to update to one of the ICS roms because I use the camera so often. Sure, it doesn't compare to a dedicated device but it's more than adequate image quality for sharing and/or even printing if you play around enough with the settings. Night shots are obviously pretty bad but can't say I expected much more from a tablet's camera.

Some mushrooms, taken with my 4.0
I forgot to put Macro on, but still came out pretty decent.
Anyone who says this isn't "good enough" for the quick snapping of pics, is :silly: lol
Obviously one wouldn't use these cameras for professional photography, but to say it's "not even good enough to use" is ridiculous.
Would there ever be a camera that could use front and back cameras at the same time? Or app? Do it have to be a powerful phone maybe like note 2 ect? Do you think such feature can be run on a low end phone maybe like HTC evo 4g?
I know gs4 can do this but what about other non Samsung phones?
Could this ever happen?

That doesn’t depend on Android or power.
That depends on the Hardware manufacturer. Most phones have only 1 hardware controller for both cameras.
Like the HTC Evo 4g… It’s not possible with this phone.
I heard this feature will be available on SSGS4 ?
Yes Samsung S4 supports this.
