on my Nexus S 4G, I was able to install voodoo control to fix the colors on the screen and get a better image from the display, is there anything available on the evo 3d thats similar to it? or is anyone working on something similar?

Yeah, I really liked that on the NS4G. Wish there was something like that on the 3D as well just so you can tweak it some for optimal colors. It does look pretty good, but it'd be nice just to mess with a little.

I was wondering if there are any actual 3d apps out yet. Something that actually utilizes 3d technology for our EVO3ds. It is impossible to search for them because so many have 3d graphics.
Thanks guys!

There is lots of 3D games by gameloft. If you meant apps then yeah I haven't seen any.

Ya I got some games, I'm just waiting for some apps.
Thanks.

What sort of app did you have in mind?
Not likely gonna happen unless it is an app that only runs in landscape. I don't think most developers want that kind of limit unless there is a benefit to 3D. The only benefit I can see is in movies and gaming.

Good point, but I'm thinking of maybe a neon drawing app. Love 3d maestro LOL.

do you mind linking to gameloft? I cannot seem to find any 3 d games on their site
There should be a shortcut in your app drawer.

The phone displays 3d in both landscape and portrait modes. Just look in the gallery and change between them

It'd be neat to have a 3d homescreen.

It does, but I don't think it's optimized to use it like that... like the way it splits the image...

I got to experience that last night. I was playing the spider man game and it froze up on me. I was able to get out of the game and the home screen was in 3d. Looked really bad IMO.
I would love to see a 3D launcher, I wounder if 3D works in full screen portrait mode. From what i read i dont think so. would be sweet tho.

Look at the 3d home screen from 22 to 24 seconds....my evo 3d doesn't do that
WTF
It would be neat but not practical imo. Unless it was docked.which I would try out. I really love the dock layout but ummm...need a dock LOL.

I saw this in the commercial yesterday... i am upset they falsly advertise with that CGI. I don't mind, but there are people (average consumer) who are now going to be under the impression the entire OS is 3D, they are in for a surpirse

I can still return it..time will tell

To tell u the truth, the entire OS in 3D would prolly make me go permanently cross eyed or atleast mildly cockeyed
Not to mention bottles after bottles of Excedrin
but I hope devs find a way to tweak the system for more 3D just as a novelty tho, a type of "just cuz we can" feature. I'm sure our batteries would drain in like 3 hours max.

There is an app in the market called Equalizer. It works fine for me

I'm really debating switching to the Amaze from the GS2 due to the horrible screen issue the Qualcomm S2 has due to the video drivers being emulated from the Exynos version. Im guessing the Amaze's drivers are made for it right?
Other than that, the things that concern me about the Amaze are the light bleed from the capacitive buttons and random reboots/shutdowns. I know the button issue can be resolved by turning them off, but wouldn't it be hard to see/use them in the dark? How prominent are the shutdowns/reboots? Anything else I should be concerned about? I'm coming from a G1 so I keep my phones awhile
Edit: Just realized there is no S-OFF either. What limitations does this produce compared to a device with S-OFF?

I've never had a reboot or bootloop. Just make sure you read and follow instructions. Light bleed apparently varies from device to device. Mine is noticeable but only on dark background and I actually think it looks cool. Call me weird :/ I've never had an issue really, other than the backcover and case preventing me to get a great WiFi signal. I haven't tried the foil trick. Also, the back cover makes a plastic creeking noise, but a thin folded piece of paper back there fixes it. Sounds kind of ghetto for a high end phone, but the camera and display are great in my opinion and the radio gets great service. There are some good ROMs and its a fast sexy phone. I like it.

had an s2 as well, had the bad screen and sent it back. jumped ship to the amaze and build wise, i think its a better crafted device. had to return 2 of em, but my 3rd one is on point. havent used it enough to give a better opinion, but so far i like it alot better. go for it
My wife has the gs2 and I can't stand that thing. Crappy screen and touchwiz kill it for me. I love my amaze.

I came from the Gs2 about 2 weeks ago. And I have the light bleed but it's not terrible. Haven't had any random reboots or anything. Build quality is head over heels better than the gs2. Also firs in the pocket better. I love this phone and don't regret the switch one bit. Can't wait to root it andget to flashing.

Google maps issue, not an amaze issue. Today's update supposedly fixed it

I've had the Amaze since a few days after it's release. I have had one or two reboots, but easily could have been something that I did. Today's Google Maps update fixed the orientation problem for me.

False. I have been using it since it released and is incredible. I'm using the stand alone apk now so I can use both camera apps just in case. You may have to use the lower resolution version though, some people experience crashes using one version in 3D mode. As if 1 of the cameras is smaller than advertised.

The amaze camera is an attempt to port the camera from the htc amaze. It utilizes zero shutter lag to use burst mode, smart shot, and a few more features. However, zero shutter lag has to be enabled in the kernel and rom, which hasn't been done yet. It does offer some interface changes but nothing too major.
The reason I use it is for having no compression on the photos. They probably compressed the pics to save storage space, but we really don't need to worry about that as much as we did on dumb phones. Less or no compression means a sharper image and more accurate color. They also increased the bitrate for video, which is less compression. I also noticed that the white balance was more accurate than the stock camera at the time. But htc fixed that since then (remember green pics? Amaze camera didn't do that).

My Epic 4G Touch would do alright of taking a picture in pretty dark conditions because it would fire the flash to auto focus and take a picture.
I know this is not how it works one the HTC One Series or the EVO LTE.
Is this something that maybe could be corrected by a software update? That is my only gripe so far at all about the camera.
well i know on PKMN rom you can turn the flashlight on in quick setting them take a pic, thats all i did
