Using the stock music app my phone keeps rebooting. Not everytime but every once in awhile it will just randomly reboot in the middle of a song using the HTC stock music app. It has been doing this since before root

My phone has been doing the same thing. I have a connect with sprint and waited with my original 3d until perm-root came out and the same reboot issue. After my 30 days I swapped for a refurb, with the 1.30 soft, and reject any update and rooted. Same issue.
So did mine. I delete stock, downloaded music from market and no more problems.

For what ever reason my Photon will stop working or just freezes. At this point it will then restarts by its self or I would have to take the battery out and put it back in. Here is where it gets fun. Now whenthe phone comes on, nothing works. I can press any app and I get no responce. I cant make or recieve any text or calls or anything. Its like the phone is still loading in the back ground. The phone is non responsive for at least30 min. Then when everything finally does start to work, every button I pressed, loads all at once. All of my calls I tried to make just keeps dialing and hanging up over and over with out me even pressing any button, and the phone opens eveeery app I pressed while it was frozen. Please help!!!!!
Are you rooted? Have you unlocked your bootloader? Did you try to flash a ROM? Etc etc. Or are you on a stock phone?
im on a stock phone.
Then it sounds like you have out of the box issues with software. Return and exchange it for a new one. Should solve your issues.

Hi, I don't know if anyone else had experienced these problems, but I'm having strange sense force closes every time I restart the phone. It gives me time to put the sim card and screen passwords, works for about 30 more secs and then f**ks up... Same thing happens over and over even after a factory reset, I've probably sent more than 10 reports to htc already. On top of that, today - two more things happened: the clock on the top right corner next to the battery icon just stopped at 1:57 although the screen one was working fine. It started working again after a restart (and another sense force close), and finally - when I turned on the WiFi, the 4g icon didn't disappear, so now I have both icons in the notification bar...
I haven't tried to root it, neither have I unlocked the bootloader. It's the way I got it + several more apps. Anybody else having the same or similar issues?

Swap it out at tmo. You should still be in your 14 day return period.

First hour I had my phone it reset/reboot 4 times while I was playing with it. It was stock, didn't restore my backup from my Vibrant. After the 4th reset, I packed it up and decided to exchange it at Tmo. I then decided to do a factory reset. After that, the phone worked fine without any weird reboots. 3 days later, I downloaded the HTC software update. As soon as the update was done, I messed around with the phone and it reset twice on me. I exchanged it the next day. My new one works perfectly! Go exchange it!
I think I may have found the reason for the Sense force closes:

I was using Juice Defender Ultimate... Since the clock and the Wifi/4G icons are part of the Sense interface, perhaps this app is the reason for the other problems as well... What bugs me though is that my girl's Amaze is also running the same app with no problems whatsoever...
So earlier today the phone got stuck in the gallery and one image kept flashing. Just now I was playing fruit ninja and tried to use the back button to exit out, but the phone got hung up.
Is anyone else's phone getting hungup like this? Is this a reason to exchange?

Try clearing data on gallery app and reboot.
My One freezes on me and completely locks up from time to time, mostly when using the browser. It seems that it has been happening more and more frequently. When it happens, I have to keep jamming the home button to get out of it. I always reboot right after it happens hoping to clear it up but sometimes it happens again within an hour or so. It happened on my first One too but I thought it might have had something to do with the ROM I flashed. I'm stock rooted on this one and it is still happening. Does this happen to anyone else?

I haven't had the phone completely freeze, but have noticed the stock browser will hang up. I am however, able to just press the home button, then enter recent apps menu to close the browser.
Sorry to not have the same exact problem, but that has been my experience thus far. I'm sure it's just a small bug.

Weird things happen on mine while I have flash player active... I have no problems with enable flash player unchecked in the menu. I only activate it when I really need it which is rare anyway. The browser doesn't need to be restarted after activating it, it just refreshes the page so it not really inconvenient to leave it off until I need it.
Mostly some rogue app.. Just give a list of apps you have and we (users without randoom reboots or hangs) will point out the apps which we have not installed so that you can narrow down to the issue-causing app
I'm having a similar problem
My htc one crashes & reboots a few and even sometimes several times a day. Once in awhile I'll even have to boot from recovery mode as the phone has trouble restarting. It also starts do a bunch of screen captures as a restarting message appears. I've done a factory restart and still experiencing the same problem. I love this phone but am getting so frustrated. Bought my girlfriend the same phone she has never experienced this issue. I think it is either a problem with an app I have installed or possibly an overheating issue (I work outside in the sun, my phone gets pretty warm in my pocket). I'm close to doing a warranty exchange, just hoping its an app problem.
Sounds like an app to me. My last phone did that when an app would crash.

Maybe it's some applications conflicting with one another. Or a bad app.
I am stock. No root. I got my htc one before the official launch and it has not froze up or did random reboots. Knock of wood.

I don't think it's an app. I've deleted a whole bunch and froze others and it still happens to me all the time. I have nothing on my One that isn't on my One X and the One X has never frozen on me, EVER. One thing I've noticed is it only happens when using data- stock browser, Chrome, and Pulse news. It doesn't happen any other time. I drove from Colorado to Kansas yesterday and it must have frozen up on me 10-15 times during the entire 8 hour trip. It's getting really frustrating. When I have time I am going to nandroid and wipe and see if it happens on a bare phone, but my money is on that it will.
Hi there,
I've been having random reboots on my device every few days of use. No specific app causes it and I havn't been able to identify a single cause. After the first reboot the device works but after the second it just stays at the google logo just before boot animation.
I've tried wipe data and cache followed by factory reset 2 times already and as soon as I get comfortable it happens again.
Unfortunately I am away from the US and HTC doesn't sell in my country, so I am stuck with it. I am downloading the factory image 5.0.1 from Google and I hope it will work. I am on stock recovery and locked bootloader.
I am all up for any sugestion that doesn't involve using my tablet as a kitchen cutting board.
I do have the same issue , mine keep rebooting randomly many times in the day after 1 week of use ...
However I did find out it was the music app from google who were causing it.
A factory reset and not using Google play music since two day solves the problem more or less. I did have only one reboot since. (My nexus 9 was rebooting like every 30min)
Is there any way to troubleshoot this ?
I'm completely stock and my device has never been rooted.
Random reboots don't happen often to me but they do indeed occur.
I've even noticed them happen while the device isn't in use and after sitting idle for at least 30 min.
Well, my Nexus 9 was rebooting after I received the Update (got the device with an older Version, had to Update before Using it...) I figured that it only rebootet when I was Using play Services...
As I need the gapps I sent it back for the second time and now I'm waiting for the replacement...
