Delay from sleep to lock screen - HTC EVO 3D

So the wife has had her 3D now for about a week, and I decided to get mine yesterday. Had a few issues already, but the thing that is annoying me the most is that when I press the on/off button to wake-up the phone it takes anywhere from 3-5 seconds for the lock-screen to pop-up. The wife's pops up immediately. Only difference I can see between the phones is that her PRI Version is newer. Mine is 1.15_003 hers is 1.16_???.
I've done the OTA update, and at least 3 factory resets, and still have the issue. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Any fix out there? Or should I look at swapping this thing out? I can't believe how annoying a 3-5 second delay can be.
Thanks in advance.

You should ask in q&a I have not heard this before but maybe someone there will be privy to ur situation

My bad. That's where I meant to post it.
Mods. Feel free to move this thread.

Did you ever get any solutions to your issue? This has been happening to me since the 2.08.651.2 Update. My PRI Verision by the way is 1.24_003. If you press the power button once with no luck, then again and then one more time does it come on quicker? Do you sometimes have issues with incoming calls not waking the phone for 5 to 8 seconds like I do?
I have Factory Restored 3 times, think the problem was with some App I installed and each time it goes away for a while, then comes back.
Very frustrating!

Are you using SetCPU?

I get the delay with Setcpu, if I have my cpu underclocked when the screen is off.
Also I noticed when I was using a slow SD card (class 2 vs a class 5 or 6) I had the delay when putting my screen on.

Wake Screen Delay
I am not rooted, so I don't use any CPU setting program. I tried both the original 8GB Class 4 SD Card, formatted using an SD Card Format program and a 16GB SD card formated the same way. I even tried the EVO's Erase SD Card function and still had the problem. I have a replacment phone on the way for delivery next week. Maybe that will solve it.

[Q] Reboots + freezes in calls!

OK. So when I first got my TB, no resets. Now? About 6-14 a day!
I'm stock with the OEM extended battery. NOW, for some reason....during calls, the phone locks up to the point I cannot turn off speakerphone, bring up the dial pad, or hang up. Seriously!
IDK what to do. I feel like a jackass when I'm on the phone and I can't turn the speakerphone on/off. I use my phone for business....it's KILLING me. This is about my 12th Android device and favorite Android phone I have had, but it's becoming almost unusable.
Any ideas besides waiting for an OTA?
Take your SD card out for 24 hours and see if it still messes up
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA App
I'm willing to try it, but the question is, if it fixes the issue, then what? No SD card?
I just had Verizon warranty mine because of reboots. There are many thoughts on why they reboot. But there doesn't seem to be any correlation between reboots and being stock or being rooted or what radio or Rom you are using. So I think its a hardware issue.
i took my sd card out for 24 hours and put it back in and no reboots since
Call Verizon and get a replacement. Mine reboots from time to time, but 6-14 times a day is BS. Sounds like you have bad hardware.

Random Reboots, I'm baffled

Hey guys, is anyone else getting these random reboots? Its happened several times now and I got the phone on Friday morning. Last time it happened ( 10 min ago), i was in XDA app. When it reboots the red charging LED comes on for a second. I have no idea why its doing this.
Return it.
Are you sure I should return it already? I was wondering if maybe it was common among many people.
Sounds like a faulty phone, simply go get another one. Sprint knows there is going to be issues and will be happy to replace them. I nor my friends have had a problem with it yet.
yeh sounds defective...i haven't had a single non-initiated reboot since wednesday...

Ehh alright i really didn’t want to have to return it or anything. Guess I'll take it to sprint later this week
At least do a clear storage first. Then see. That's probably the first thing they would do... and then they would tell you to come back if the problem continues. This way, you have at least eliminated that as a possibility. Also, what all did you install? This could be an app doing it.
Yuppers...no reboots here. Not since the Hero days I'd say its an app or your phone.

Hmm true, Im guessing an app is eating my ram because I constantly.have over 50% used

I just got a random reboot while using speedtest.net app. I ran like 4 in a row, then suddenly it shut down and booted up. I am pretty sure I'll be returning mine, as I've had a slew of other random bugs/issues going on. I was trying to determine if it's just buggy software, or if there is a problem with the phone.
What other issues do you, have? I noticed one otjer thing that htcs task.manager and the built in running services from the settings app show different amounts of memory and amt used/free. I'm betting this is just software issue. I really dont want to have return and resetup my phone

Get all the updates and then do a factory reset and see how it works after that.
I had the random reboots. I tried hard reset without any apps and without setting up email and I'd still get the reboots randomly. I exchanged it for another one at Bestbuy and I haven't had a single reboot since. Even with all my apps, email, and calendars setup. I'd return it! Also, I did not install the updates on either phone. I just tried the speedtest.net app four times in a row and I did not get any reboots. Let me know if you want me to check out anything else.
I was having the same problem before and after otas. I was also getting a blank screen once in a while too. I got mine wed and probably pulled the battery about 20 times. Finally broke down and did a factory reset by holding the volume key down when powering on and selecting factory reset. Its been fine so far. I also wiped 16gb sd card from evo, formated it in phone and only copied media files over.

I did the same as you too. It seemed better at first but then it started again. I also found that after erasing the sd card with the phone I had folders that where inaccessible after android created the new ones. I ended up formatting the card with windows and deselected the quick format option. That fixed the problem with the sd card. Note all this stuff was with my first phone. The replacement has been flawless.
I'm gonna hold out another week, if I get any reboots in that time, it's back to sprint for a new one.
I got mine on Friday, then all of a sudden out of no where I started getting random reboots last night about every 10 minutes, then when I was able to get it to stay on for a while the screen would just go black and the buttons stay lit up though. Oddly enough it was doing that all last night and all this morning, until about 9 this morning and since then it's been running fine. I was able to track down my problem somewhat at least, for some reason it kept trying to sync my exchange account and it was unable to sync, and every time i tried to open up that email account to delete it, the screen would go blank. Even though everything is working know I'm still going to the sprint store today to see if they will exchange it.

[Q] Atrix goes to sleep and won't respond

I have an Atrix 4G with is unlocked and is running the stock rom, 2.3.4, 4.5.91.
About twice a day, I will try to unlock the phone and it will not respond. I press the power button and the screen just stays black. I'll pull the battery and the phone will be fine for a day or a day and a half, but then it does it again. It isn't anything critical, just kind of a pain, and I have not been to be able to find one definitive solution to this anywhere.
Does anyone else here have this problem, and more importantly, does anyone have a solution?
Mine does sort of the same thing. When I hit the power button to wake it, it won't do anything. Sometimes I'll have to push it 2-3 times before it finally wakes.
Try deleting the user cache (factory reset).
but take a backup of your data and apps first (use Titanium backup)
Ok first of all if ur asking a question then u should ask in Q&A section and 2nd provide more info e.g. rom kernel radio etc.
and about answering the question i am assuming ur on CM7 Atrix Ba2tF build so just flash the latest weekely and most of ur problems including sleep of death will be gone.
and before that when this problem happens look closely at the censor at the top right of screen if its glowing red then its promity sensor issue (latest weekely will fix it)
and if not then again little more info would be required e.g overclocking and undervolting if yes then settings. some times undervolting cause random reboot and some times shutdowns.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll try them when I get a second and get back to you.

Sorry, just got back from a trip. Actually, I swapped out my off brand 32gb microsd card with a 64gb sandisk MicroSDXC card, and the sleep of death seems to have gone away (knock on wood). Thanks again guys.

Screen locks up and freezes then reboots

My phone keeps locking up and freezing and then rebooting. Or sometimes it wont reboot and then I have to pull the battery out. Basically what happens is I'll be surfing facebook or even using google maps and what will happen is the phone will freeze/lock up and you'll see a line of distorted pixels and the phone becomes unresponsive after that. You can't push any buttons it wont respond to anything. It either then stays on that screen and then reboots itself after a moment or it just will stay lit up on the screen you were on or it will just go black and become unresponsive. You can plug it in it wont charge it wont turn on or anything. The only way to get it back on is pull the battery and start it up again.
Weird mentions: If I try to start it up right after it's had the lock/freeze it will do it again almost immediately. It will load and right as it gets to the home screen it locks up again. I usually have to wait a little bit and then I can start it and then I can use my phone. But if I try to do to much on it, like running google maps while using navigation (Like keeping the screen on all the time) the phone is gunna lock up and freeze. But if I push the power button while it's running that app it wont lock up and freeze.
Thoughts: I dunno if it has to do with the processor and if it works too much it locks up and freezes and causes the phone to crash or if it's a heat issue.
I have an HTC Amaze 4g Phone rooted, S-OFF running EnergyROM ICS 4.0.3
I have formatted it several times, re-installed the ROM and still getting the same freezes/lock ups. Any suggestions would be awesome! Also if I can help clarify anything or provide more information for you lemme know! Thanks so much for taking the time to read all this mess and help me out!
Sounds like you did almost everything to eliminate the possibility of a software problem. If you're still under warranty, I'd say get a new one =)
Have you tried to format the SD card? I've had the same issue and that's how I solved it.
Another option is to get a new battery

That's what I was thinking because when it does lock up and freeze like that the battery will lose 20% to 30% of power from that one freeze. I could be at 100% battery power and then that the phone glitches like that then I lose that much battery power? Yeah I'm gunna try and get a new one.
have you tried any other roms? have you upgraded your kernel?
Try to go in steps and stop where it fixes the problem. It happened to my sensation when I really tried to mess up with system files. For me it got fixed on step 2
0.5) Make backup of storages on computer and take out external memory card
1-) Flash the stock ruu (use search in development thread) reboot
2-) format internal storage
3-) it might be hardware issue, depending on your warranty, you might get it fixed by HTC/t-mobile.
Try the methods 0-2 at-least

I think it's the hardware. Because when I'm in recovery it freezes even in there. I even put in the new battery I bought and I'm still getting those random lock ups. I even took out the SD card for safe measure to make sure it wasn't that.
I would back everything up, do a complete wipe, flash a stock RUU and then see if it happens. Or take the easy way out and call your carrier for a replacement. If you have T-Mobile, they're pretty awesome and quick about replacements.
Call T-Mobile for a replacement..
Its a memory parity error on either the GPU or CPU... yes it is heat related, hence an almost instant lock up on warm reboot.

I just had to do a warranty return on a completely stock unit to T-Mobile for this very issue. Identical symptoms to OP. Phone seemed to behave normally if little was done to it, but streaming any sort of data could get it to hard lock pretty quick. I was assuming it was a bad memory chip somewhere.
I had a similar issue. Different battery. No problems now.

Wileyfox Swift 2 Touch Input Freezing/Intermittent

Hi,
I am having this problem with my Swift 2 running 7.1.2. Very frequently the touch input freezes, sometimes every 10 seconds, sometimes less frequently. The content on the screen doesn't freeze, just the touch input.
I have tried everything I can think of, uninstalling apps, taking out SD + SIM cards, clearing caches, safe mode and recently a factory reset but the touch input is still intermittent... It happens so often now that the phone is almost unusable. I feel like it is a software issue because when the touch input does work, it works fine.... confused.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Callum
Was literally about to post this, I get it maybe 10 times a day for no apparent reason. Phone and apps carry on just fine, but touch just stops for a few seconds.
Mine has got progressively worse. It started with the touch input freezing just trying to answer an incoming call... but now it freezes more than not, even just writing a text message can take over 5 mins just waiting for the touch input to respond again.
I'm >>>| |<<< this close to just buying a new phone.
I'd let Wileyfox sort it out. (yeah I know, it's a pain to lose your phone for a while, but hey, that's why we have warranty isn't it?)

True - I logged the issue with their customer support last week.... so we shall see when they get around to responding.
Thought I would ask on here anyway in case it was a software issue that could be corrected without returning the handset.
I've had this issue for months with my Swfit 2. I've tried a factory reset, cache clear. Even reverted to Andoird 6. Still get the intermittent freezing. I contacted Wileyfox who didn't help. Switching the screen off then on again resolves it, but it's very annoying.

Sounds familiar - switching the screen off and on used to help but doesn't do anything now. The touch input is now frozen most of the time, I'll be lucky if I can write a text message... can just about answer calls for now. Think I may have to admit defeat and get a new phone.
