[Q] Sand in my screen. - Optimus One, P500, V General

Yesterday i was lying on the beach and enjoying the sun(Greek sun). I had put my p500 in my towel, so to keep it clean and safe. But someone was calling me(it was private-maybe the devil was) and i got it sharp. It fell into the sand and the screen is full of sand. What can i do? I thought i should go to service, but i realized that they would tell me that the gurantee was lost(lg doesn't give a s**t for us, god bless andy, mik_os, franco and all developers that work hard to make us pleased with a stable phone). Please help me to find the solution, maybe a way to open and clean it. It is f**ig annoying! Thank you in advance!

- dismantle the phone and clean it up
- take it to the LG service center and pay them to fix the result of your clumsy handling of the phone
What kind of advise do you expect here?

Go to service center and get it cleaned up.

-1st of all it was YOUR fault to get dust behind the screen transparent panel.
-2nd, LG service is not **** at all, behave yourself and dont act like a kid.
[many ppl bricked their phones, just like me, and got it back, repaired with a BRAND NEW PCB! Which is equal to a new phone practically!]
-3rd, YES the guarantee does not cover you in case of this damage, you should be careful next time, unless you want to destroy any phone you own and replace it... that's not possible unless some of the companies are plainly stupid to give free cellphones of 160euros to everybody again and again.

How can i dismantle the phone? I don't think that it was totally my fault, because in this phone the gap between the screen and the panel is perfect to become full of dust or sand

Yeah sure, that reminds me of a lamer who dropped a NAS unit on the floor while wiping the dust off it and went to the manufacturer support forum to complain about bad design. After being called a moron, he claimed himself to be a leading design inventor.
You are on a good way to at least level his "achievements"

In case you live in the US, you might still sue LG for not including "Do NOT drop your phone into the sand" warning in the manual. : p

I don't say that i didint make a mistake. You think of yourself as a judge. I opened the topic to ask if someone can tell me who to dismantle and clean the phone. It's not full but on a white screen it seems like dead pixels.

Even better. In Greece, you can go and burn down the Parliament for taking away your 15th sallary for 10 months worth of work. Also, ECB must be at fault, blame 'em!!!
P.S. If you are so worried about losing your warranty, dismantling the phone in a DIY way is a sure way to lose it once and forever.
Now, go back to LG service center, pay them for being lame and move on.

P.S. Being Greek, i feel so bad for some of my country's people attitude ... it's so embarasing representing a flag of your country saying bull**** in a forum that other Greek members too, behave and act like normal people do.

The P500 does not have a problem getting dust into its screen, even if it had, IT WOULD BE NO EXCUSE!
People are clumsy and idiots, not only with cellphones but with any kind of product ... there's no reason for that, a company to replace anything for free. They're not charity !
