i have used smart keyboard recently and did not see a droid x keyboard.. but i will check again right now
But i do not prefer smart keyboard because its auto correct and the touch points are way off. needs to upgrade its hardware and not on there themes and colors.
Is there no way to get a zip flash of somekind pulled from one of the droid phones?

Droid X / 2 Multi touch keyboard on unrooted Froyo Droid?

I had this keyboard on my Eclair Droid and loved it, but the Froyo OTA killed it and I've been looking for a replacement that works with froyo, but every one I find either can't be downloaded or fc's after typing only a few letters, even after reboot. Please please please does anyone have a Droid 2/X multi touch keyboard that can help me out?
(Sorry if there's already a thread, but I've searched and searched and downloaded file after unusable file, but to no avail. If there is a thread, link please?)
Thanks a ton!

Awesome. Using it now to type. Is there a grey/ white version?
Awesome, thanks a ton. Works like a charm.

This version is working great on Droid 1 2.2 stock. But I've seen skinned versions for other phones, are there any skinned versions using this package that works on the droid 1???
Here's the native keyboard. Not sure if it will run on unrooted froyo as I'm on GB. But you can take a crack at it.

Best keyboard?

What do you think is the best keyboard?
Personally I think swype is overrated. Gingerbread seems to be better but still lacking. I'm using smart keyboard now bc it has a free trial. I think I would prefer better keyboard bc of the skin support out there but it has no free trial. What do y'all think?
I personally use swype, even if it does miss some words occasionally.

+1 for smart keyboard... t9 mode for simple one handed typing with swipe right for QWERTY. Plus custom smilies and skins.

Smart keyboard pro, keyboard from Gingerbread 2.3, HTC ime mod, then swiftkey imo. Swype is a great concept but it falls short for far too many reasons.

I have Smart Keyboard Pro, Swype, and the Gingerbread keyboard. I think Gingerbread is the best of the three.

It does feel a bit small, but its so much more responsive than either of the other two. I think you just have to practice it and get used to it first.
I like the fact that SlideIt predicts the words you use the most.
Although, if you want to use another word, you have to pay attention to what you're doing. Otherwise it will use the word most used automatically. But is works wonders most of the time!
I'm really digging Smart Keyboard Pro [:
The T9 mode is sweet-- great for texting with one hand
Smartkeyboard pro. I like the skin support much better, I have about 30 skins, and they aren't clogging up my app tray because the skins are just zip files that you put in a folder called "skins". Its also extremely accurate and fast.
HTC_IME.
The original HTC Sense Keyboard is my favorite.
I don't like Swype or the default Android keyboard.
this is just a question is there a htc ime keyboard that works on cm7? if so can someone send me the file.

Its been so long since I've used the HTC keyboard I cant even remember what it was like. But...
Have you tried the AOSP Gingerbread keyboard? Its actually a huge improvement over the eclair/froyo Android keyboard. Its up there with Smart Keyboard Pro. The only reason I use Smart Keyboard Pro over the Ginger keyboard is that SK has skins

Oh wow thank you so much. Other ime's were just crashing on my aria. This one works great.
I have been using swiftkey pro for a few weeks now. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to display correctly in many apps because of the aria's small screen. Sometimes the keyboard covers up the text box, especially in landscape mode.

I'm glad it works for you.
I have a "Frankenstein" setup on my phone, which combines most of the best of each ROM (Liberated and CM7).
I like the look of Sense, but I also like CM7's flexibility and other features (like built-in SIP).
I also like some of the Sense widgets (e.g., Friendstream).
So I loaded up CM7, then LP Sense UI, which makes the phone look like Sense (with widgets, too).
Adding the original keyboard makes the phone easier to use.
Have fun!

[Q] Where to get this lockscreen?

Hey guys.
As NONE of you know till now, well I'm working on a new custom ROM for the LG P500 which is a good thing, but I need some help with it.
Where can I get those sliding tabs?
http://www.mycolorscreen.com/wp-content/uploads/homescreens/37279/shot_000007.png
I tried to download Motorola Droid Razr ROMS and extract the framework-res.apk and get the sliding tabs, with no succes, those have the stock sliding tabs.
Can please any1 help me?
Ask the dev of widgetlocker if he can.make that for you.

Because this one is a stock lockscreen for Moto Droid Razr, but whenever I downloaded a rom and extracted the framework-res.apk it showed me some stock android lockscreen stuff, bot the on in the pic(google for it,THIS is the stock moto razr stock lockscreen).
Any other help?

I would suggest downloading MiLocker and pick one from there. Your phone doesn't even have to be rooted.

The lock screen is I. The blur apk as it is only for moto devices it is alot more then just images that can be swapped in and out. Unless you only want it to look like it without the functionality

So it is blur.apk? Well for me,it is more than enough to be a lookalike lockscreen for my rom.
Thank you very much
EDIT: Haven't found the required lockscreen image files in blur.apk
Could you give me another clue?
Found the required files in the moto's framework-res.apk with other filenames.
Topic can be closed now.
Thank you
Has anybody made this into any kind of mod? Just picked up a Droid 3, I'd love to have the RAZR lock screen w/ the extra tab for unlock-to-camera.

Thanks. Thought about third-party lock screens, and I've tried several before, but I think in this instance I'd prefer the one from the RAZR, if I can find it.

Unless your running the Razr the only option is a 3rd party lockscreen. You need moto files to make it work otherwise. It is built deep into the framework file

Stock android keyboard?

Is there some where I can get the stock android keyboard? I used it pretty much exclusively when I was on my D2 and I do not like the positioning of the keys on the HTC one.

I just tried that and the keys are tiny. I cant seem to find a regular keyboard that has the keys the same size as the standard HTC keyboard. whats the point of having such a big screen if all you can get is a tiny keyboard for it.

Few devices have the resolution our screen has so that why. Try and pull the one from the cm9 rom

You folks need to try A.I. keyboard. It has a key that allows you to resize the keyboard on the fly. You can make the size of the keyboard as large as you want. I am very happy with it.

How would I do that?
Just a suggestion, try SwiftKey 3 Beta, it's free, it has themes that can match a lot of colors and it's the best predictive typing I've used.

Yeah I don't like swiftkey. I really don't like autocorrect at all honestly I just turn it off. Which leads to another reason I want the stock keyboard, the HTC one will not let me turn auto correct off and keep predictions on.

4.2 keyboard works!

I may be the only one that likes the 4.2 keyboard, but I flashed the one from the G-nexus section and it works great so far! And the vibrate key press is a lot stronger.
I was able to just download one from the market, and yes, the vibration is much stronger, maybe a little too strong, im not sure.

How about emojis? I've seen a keyboard floating around the ReZound forums before I got this device. It actually had all the emojis built into it.

Can someone point me to download a working 4.2 camera?
For the life of me I can't find where to enable the keyboard. I go into the keyboard settings and can only chose the language. I do have the 4.2 keyboard installed.

Yes Nowak4G HAS IT RIGHT...
once you are running ICS or higher all the keyboard switching methods are done in your notification bar. They do need to be enabled Via Language & Keyboard....
I am in love with the 4.2 keyboard. The keys just feel perfect for me.
I'm using the 4.2 keyboard also on my sensation courtesy of XDA Sensation Themes and Apps Section,I was using swiftkey 3 but not anymore, the 4.2 is phenomenal and the swipe feature is so responsive while also very smooth, I'd go as far to say I am very impressed...
P.s. forgot to mention the floating preview of your written word is implemented very well..

This.
I always wondered why people felt the need to flash the files from other devices etc etc, when you can just download it from the market right there, lol. I've been using it for quite some time now.
Is the 4.2 keyboard the same as the Google Swype Beta keyboard? I have been using Google Swype Beta keyboard and it is the best keyboard I have ever used! Plus it has the Dragon dictation built in which is amazingly accurate.
The 4.2 keyboard does have swype. It's working very well also.
