My tab isn't showing the animated green battery charging screen when I plug the charger in.
Instead, I see the battery image outline and what looks like a stuck status ring in the middle of it.
The screen will sit this way for 5-10 seconds, go dark and repeat.
Thanks!

just tried, after i hit the power, the green light bulb lights up a while, and nothing shows up..........
This had happened to me a few times when I let the battery drain completely. Leave it plugged in for awhile before starting it.

did your phone flash on and off when plugged in?
Hi, I had a car accident this week.
The screen cracked in several places and the led was blinking red.
It would not turn on, the 10 sec press of power button + volume down button did not restart the phone.
When I connect the phone to the computer the led turns white!!!
The file system on the computer does not see phone when connected to the usb.
Anybody knows the meaning of white and red colours leds?
Also, what would be my options of reviving the RAZR?
or how to extract my contacts and photos from the device? how to make the PC read it as an external device?
many thanks!
are you able to boot in fastboot?
does your screen show you something or stay black?
could you explain what you did step by step and tell us what your phone do
Blinking red is low battery, white is charging when powered off.

thank you for the answers.
how do I boot in fastboot?
the screen does not show anything.
it does not respond to any buttons now and only when I connect to PC white led is on...
maybe I should try to connect it to the wall plug?
blinking red is interesting as I am pretty sure the phone has enough battery before the accident...why would it suggest low power?
could it be that battery broke inside and leaked?

To get to boot menu, Pwr & vol +/- at the same time then select fastboot by selecting with vol- and enter is vol +. But first try the wall plug to see if you can get a charge on it. With the wall plug you should get the battery symbol with a watery level indicator.

for the god's sake..
it isnt power button + volume, its -volume + power button
ok, I have connected it to the PC - the white led comes on.
I then hold the volume down+power buttons for cca 10 secs - the white led goes off, but nothing appears on the screen.
is this a 100% proof that the screen is dead?
I believe the white led blinking means that there isn't enough power going through the charger to power up your phone. Can't remember where I read that however.

anyone know a good walk in repair centre in Berlin preferably in Tegel or Zoo area?
I'm on cleanROM 3.7 and everything so far is running GREAT. Recently I wiped the battery stats using Scott's tweaks, of course after a full charge and then unplugging for a full drain without charge, as with other battery calibrations on previous devices I've owned or used. After charging without break, I cannot reach a 100% charge, it stops at 99%. I am now not so sure about charging overnight as I suspect the battery/device might overheat since a 100% charge does not seem to be attainable. Anyone know about this issue?
Does the light go green?

You might want to take a gander at the following post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9777867
Your battery gauge is lying to you (and it's not such a bad thing)
That thread might be useful if it said anything about a 99% charge. Usually the little LED light turns from orange to yellow when it becomes fully charged at 100%. The light is staying orange and will not display 100%, only 99%.

Ok, so I turned my phone off last night before charging and I was able to attain the yellow LED light indication for a full charge but when I power on my device it boots up almost immediately. It skips the HTC screen and goes straight to my custom boot animation and then boots up. When the device boots up any other time I get the white HTC screen and everything like normal.

*Edit*
That's because you have fastboot checked in settings. Pull the battery, put it back in, then charge til green. If its any consolation though my battery does the same thing with the phone on it gets to 99 and hangs, but I've found that if I reboot it while on the charger it will turn green within about 10 minutes of being back on. Usually I don't worry about it being at 100% because when it actually is at 100% it goes back to 99% like 10 seconds after I unplug it. But to sum up, pull the battery b4 you charge and put it back in or uncheck fastboot then power off anand charge.

why pull the battery? why not simply uncehck fastboot??
I try not to ever pull my battery..
adb reboot if needed will work 99% of the time if you're by your computer.

Well I usually just hold the power button and push reboot if the phone needs rebooting. You probably know but you cant also hold power + volume up + volume down for about 5 seconds and it will also reboot itself. I was just trying to tell him the different ways to get the phone to completely turn off. That's why I suggested two different ways. But yes as Andy said, unchecking fastboot should be the easiest way.

I have bought a thick battery. When I use the htc roms,it will take 5-6 hours, and then the led turns to green. The battery is full.
But when I use CyanogenMod roms,it takes only 2hours and the led turns to green. And I reboot the phone, the battery displays only 60%.charing can not be full.I tried all kinds of roms of CyanogenMod,including cm9 and cm10,it would always be that.I tried some methods in the form, charing until the led was green, and took it out, turned off the phone, charged again.when the led turned to green, took it out and turned on.then turned it off immediately.charged again untill the led was green again.at last, wipe the battery status. But it had no use.
I guess maybe the charging app is different between CyanogenMod and htc.And CyanogenMod's do not depend on my thick battery?
I love CyanogenMod and I did not like the htc sense.so,please help me.anyone can tell me what to do?I really want to use CyanogenMod with my thick battery.Thank you!

Try calibrating the battery
Ignore the green light, it does that to me when I get to 90%, and yet it'll still charge past there. It's annoying, but not really anything to worry about

The green light is just an indicator. Ignore it, the rest of the phone and the battery have their own settings to prevent the battery from overcharging. It's always gonna go through its normal charging cycle, one of the codes in cyanogenmod causes the light to change to green at the wrong time, but it has NO effect on the charging. It's annoying and unnerving I know, buts its nothing to worry about

Try a different charger/cable
Are you using the original cable? Most HTC phones will do that if the battery is completely dead, you have to let it charge with a charger that is the same or higher amperage than the one it came with. Once the light stops blinking, you should be good to turn it on.
When you say ended up dying, are you meaning it died once, or it died, you turned it back on to try and read a text or get a number till it died again, etc.
I'm asking for a valid reason not just picking on you. But Yeap make sure you're using the OEM stock HTC charger or another charger.
If that doesn't work try the computer. Whatever you do don't keep trying to turn it on until it actually starts charging.
