Hi, i hv a question. If i buy the galaxy s2 from korea, will it work in Canada?
Whatever you do, do not buy a Korean SGSII. The Korean SGSII is highly localized with a different type of SMS that Canada uses right now. It's going to be a real pain in the butt trying to get it to work in Canada which is why I suggest getting an international version or a US version when it comes out.

Korean galaxy model support frequncies are follow.
UMTS single 2100
GSM 900/1800/1900
so, if your carrier frequencies are UMTS 850/1900 , you can't use it.
(i heard that some of carrier support UMTS 850/1900)
and Our korea SKT model using their own SMS(SK-MMS).
(KT model support OMA-MMS)
Finally, i can NOT recommend you are using to our korean galaxy using in canada.
And in Italy? would it be usable in Italy?
Thank you guys

Just to hijack the thread, does anyone have a source on a compiled SHW-250S/SHW-250K firmware so I can mess around with it and reflash it back just in case I need to send it back in for warranty?
If not i'll just have to do it myself from the open source release, hmm

System dump I guess? And repackage them Odin flashable (.tar)
I have not tried yet but probably work.
I would do that if I wasn't a silly and flashed before dumping the original firmware. Carrier specific settings I can get easily enough from talking to a service rep, but they'll probably raise eyebrows at the odd firmware without any of their branding and the giant yellow caution sign, lol
No big deal atm, i'm still fooling around.
Quick question... does anyone know if the ringtones and notifications and other media are available from the Korean SGS2?
I dont want the international version
Just the Korean version.. Thank you
Did I ask in the wrong forum/thread?
Anyone knows where or how to get a Korean S2. I wanna use it when I'm in Singapore
Sorry to bump an old thread but.
- what is the difference between a european/international and Korean SGS II ?
- How can I tell if this is a korean or international version? It's parallel imported from Hong Kong.. http://eking.co.nz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=300

Korean versions support NFC and they have an antenna. The device in the link is a generic SII, surely not a korean version.
dont buy from korea
just buy from canada made in korea device
same as me but different countries
hey guys thanks for that
To be honest - i am buying through a company in New Zealand which drop ships directly from Hong Kong. So I dont really know what version that will be. Will that be the korea or international version?
Any ideas ?
sorry for bumping a old thread. Any idea if I can flash a korea galaxy S2 with a stock international version Android firmware? or any custom ROM I can flash with? And how do I do it? I got mine when I was posted in Korea to work, now I am back to my country, the 80 character limit for sms is wasting a lot of my money. Any advice? thanks
Anyone from Korea can confirm whether they have the FM radio in the LTE version? I'm sure normal S3 have it but how about LTE?
Also support of FM depends on hardware as well??

Thanks, I have to try that. I'm from Singapore. My phone got a QuadCore Exygenos processor with 2GB ram. So it must be same as Korean LTE version right?
Nobody from Korea can confirm this? How come in Singapore International version have FM Radio but LTE don't have? In US LTE version don't have but their processor also different. That's why I have to confirm with anyone from Korea....

Hi I was wondering if the I9035 will be released in America?
If not, where can I buy it?
And also, would I be able to use any carrier like tmobile or verizon?

You actually mean I9305 which I own but I am from australia. There was a user from the US on t-mobile and he stated it worked Only on Edge... Dont ask me what Edge is.. I am thinking it is like 3G... Unfortuanetly the device will not work on your 4G network. One user purchase his from ebay for $800 I beleive it is still showing and here is the link. Location is apparently in Texas, Houston.... Only thing is its only in Black.. I myself have the Grey_Titanium which I love!... But hey if you love black gadgets your in luck!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-Gal...5-Jelly-Bean-4-1-2GB-Ram-4G-LTE-/221134136119
Will they eventually release it in the US? Should I wait and get this model or just buy t-mobile one right now?

I dont beleive they will officially release this I9305 in the US because you have your own S3 variant of the 4G already.
edge is 2g
but there are some regions of tmo that actually supports the 1900mhz band.

yup, the i9300 is indeed compatible with AT&T's 3G (i'm using it right now as we speak). In some regions, T-Mo's 3g also works, but there's a link somewhere that shows you exactly where the 1900mhz band is in use.
@OP
if you're going to get the tmo (USA) version, you should check out the appropriate forum for it (no sure what the exact model number is, but you'll find it). Flashing anything from this forum would most probably brick your new phone (due to differences in some hardware and software).
here it is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1706
and the rooting guide is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1900345 (it's the sticky in the Q&A forum)
Hi, i want to do that, but for a baseband that belongs to the Galaxy SII I9100.
The thing is that i want to use 3G connection but with my current provider only works with 2G for this cellphone...
Don't do that. If you have t mobile it's going to happen

This...and if the OP has an at&t phone unlocked to use on t-mobile's network (guessin, since no info given by the op), he will only get the 2g --- that is, unless t mobile converts their 1900 mhz frequency in his area to be a 3g/4g freq instead of edge...as they have done this in other areas.
More info provided by google, if interested.

I would wait for the LTE AT&T version honestly:
http://www.engadget.com/2013/10/22/htc-one-max-att-lte/
However some users are using the Unlocked Verizon Version they just don't get LTE. but do get HSPA+ from what I have read.
I use the international version on ATT, I dont use there data plans, so I could not give you the answer to that. I have mine set to GSM/WCDMA auto which under about says im running HSDPA. Hope that helps.
