[Q] GT-P7500 XWKGC firmware? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thinking of updating through Odin flash tool and eventually flashing custom Roms and coming from mobile devices I was wondering how can I check my firmware version (not just in settings menu), like the *#1234# combo, because Kies shows PDA:KGC PHONE:KG7 CSC:KG5 (THP), and I can't find this f/w on samfirmware. I have the 3G P7500 unlocked model.Thks
"About tablet" menu

have the same firmware, but i'm not sure if it's the 3G version. On the Box it says:
HSPA+ HSDPA 21 Mbps, isn't that 4G? This is very confusing. Can someone List all different models?

[Q] Vibrant simular:AT&T Captivate&Canadian?Which firmware can be used?Recovery Menu
Hi all,
the name "ViBrant" is only used in US (T-Mo). AT&T in US called the phone "Captivate".
The different to an normal I9000 is 1 touch-key more and 8Gb more memory as the German Version (it has only 8G internal).
My question is:
a) Does has the AT&T version also the Defensive Mode?
a.1) If not, if the Firmware compatible?
a.2) Is somewhere the SW available to flash the phone with this version?
b) the Canadian Phone-version, is it the same as the I9000 (3 button) or like the T959 ?
b.1) If this one also a T959, is the SW compatible?
b.2) Is somewhere the SW available to flash the phone with this version?
c) In which market is the T959 also available, because I believe that the I9000 SW does not run very well on the T959 - a little modified HW ?
d) The Modem version of Canadian -where the fix for the Recover Menu is available - is he so different from the Vibrant? Or is only in this moment the module unknown of the T-Mo branded Phones to port a fix?
e) last question: If someone has the Vibrant, and the Recovery Menu is not blocked : It is possible to dump the specific Memory and flash it in the defensive Phones via Odin?
Edit:
Up from which - I think modem Version, the Recovery Mode does not work anymore ? Maybe this will be help, if it is clarified

[Q] "Insert SIM card to access network services"

Hi,
I have Samsung GT-P7300 (tab 8.9) which has been bought in USA. It supposed to be unlocked (at least that is written on the Amazon product page).
I live in the middle east, when I put local SIM card (it's well secured-in, I can hear the 'click') and navigate to
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks
I receive the following error message:
"Insert SIM card to access network services".
The device supports the following network:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
But my mobile company supports
850/900/1800/1900 GSM 850/900/1900/2100 UMTS
I'll be glad to hear some ideas.
Thanks.
Have you tried to put your sim in another device to check if it's going online? The supported networks from your provider matches with the tab, so that shouldn't be the problem. I think if your tab is locked you should get a different message, then the one you are getting now. Are you sure the sim is o.k. and put in the right way? Do you have stock firmware or custom?
I had the same problem (here in peru), my issue was because there was not MODEM flashed in the tab.
What i did, was to go to samfirmware.com, download the apropiate MODEM.bin file and flash it via ODIN. After that, everybhing works ok.
You can check if there is a MODEM flashed by looking at the ABOUT section on the configuration panel on the tab.
If you dont have a clue about what is flashing, what is modem or what the hell i am talking about, write me a pm or post it here, so i can give you a brief explanation (i am no expert, but i can help a lilttle)
Thanks for your help, I already rooted my cell phone and flashed new ROM so I have some experience with advanced android stuff.
On which configuration file were u talking about: On the android settings or on Odin? Is you SIM cover not closing smoothly as well ? On my machine, tab 8.9, I need to force my SIM cover to be closed. Do I need to root my tablet first?
10x.
I had a similar problem with my p7500. A simple factory reset with the sim inserted while booting the first time after that helped.
Just tried, didn't help... Also tried Samsung firmware update - no success.
Thanks anyway.
Hopes to hear some more ideas.

[Q] Loaded phone to stock 2.3.5, now it's kind of broken

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830 and I flashed a Stock 2.3.5 Rom to my phone because I screwed up flashing a previous Rom. The Rom I flashed appears to be defaulted to Poland, I managed to change the language, but for some reason I can't get any Cell reception, I am unable to send texts or make phone calls. I checked the CSC and it is: XEO - Poland (Plus, Era, Heyah, Orange, Play). I don't know much about phones but this appears to be an issue since I don't live anywhere near Poland.
I have a Telus Sim card but it appears as if my phone can't connect to their network. Additionally, before flashing this Rom I was pretty sure that my only option in Network Operators was Telus, but now I have Telus and CAN Rogers Mobile INC. When I attempt to select Telus from this list it says "Registering on TELUS..." for around 2-3 minutes then says "Unable to connect to network, try again"
I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
When I go to About Phone>Status it says..
Network: Unknown
Mobile Network Type: UMTS
Service State: Out of Service
Roaming: Not roaming(although this appears to switch on and off, despite me being well within Telus coverage.)
Mobile Network State: Disconnected
Android Version: 2.3.5
Baseband version: S5830XWKS2
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-perf-CL654989
[email protected] #1
Build number: Gingerbread.XWKS9
Do I have to install a Telus Canadian version of the stock firmware for 2.3.5 or could I possibly install stock firmware for 2.3.4 and update it through kies to get the appropriate CSC?(My phone is able to connect to Samsung kies)
I don't care if my phone has 2.3.4 or 2.3.5, either one would be fine with me.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated, ask me any and all questions.
MAJOR EDIT
I put *#7465625# into my phone to check the Network Lock and Sim Lock's and it turns out
Network Lock [ON]
Network Subset Lock [OFF]
SP Lock [ON]
CP Lock [ON]
Does this mean that I can't connect to to the network because there is a lock on it? If this is right I assume I need to go to Telus and have them unlock it, right?
Edit: I phoned *#2263# to get into a frequency selection screen and I selected: WCDMA Band Preference>WCDMA 850
Telus runs on 850/1900, I have the option to choose 1900, and the option to choose all(850/900/1800/1900/2100), there's also an option to choose "Automatic", should I stick with running 850, or risk running automatic and have it randomly jump around for unknown reasons? I know 850 will work in most areas I go, so it wouldn't be a serious drawback.
I think it's best to use the Telus firmware.....
Herpderp Defy.
I'm not entirely certain, but I don't think Telus has any official Firmware that the public has access to. If you have found any that would be appreciated, but as far as I'm aware, companies don't put that kind of thing out into the general public.
On Telusmobilitys site if you go to the section to update software I can see Samsung Galaxy Ace on the list but it says 2.3.4 and there are no available updates, which means I can't update it through that method.
Is the CSC being different an issue or just a small annoyance?

I'm a Singaporean but my Ace is set to XSR (or XER I forgot)
Herpderp Defy.
I don't think I clarified this in the op, there is only one option in the CSC list, which is XEO, Poland, I presume I need a Telus CSC, however, using the list found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787163
I can't find one that would work for a Telus phone.
Edit: My phones Network is now connected to "TELUS" and Service State is "In Service" but I still have to send messages 3-4 times before they finally say sent, sometimes taking up to 3 minutes to send a simple message.
If anyone knows any way to fix this I'd greatly appreciate it.

[Q] Radio doesn't get replaced

Hi all
I have P768 and i'm having an issue with radio. I flashed JB from South Africa, everything works great.. at least in begining. Randomly my phone stops receiving calls, text messages, data connection.. It's like my phone became an ipod
So, i assume the problem is my radio, i tried flashing back to ICS to see if baseband in phone's seetings became different, but unfortunatelly for me, it is not changing. I offline flashed euro 20b, ics, but my baseband is not changing (System settings > About phone > Software information > Baseband version > L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1230.00)
I want found a radio.zip in carlos thread, but it is for P769. I dont want to flash that because i can lost radio permanently, since my phone is not changing that in offline flash.
I'm wondering where can i get those files, i have JB P768 kdz, can i extract the radio file from that and flash it via CWM into my phone?
I already tried switching radio file (LGP768.fls or something i don't remember now), but it dont change either.
I think the only way is with CWM i don't know, but if someone could help me, it'll be much apreciated
Hi shucrut,
To this date, the only method to change radio (baseband) of L9 is through KDZ flashing (online or offline, whatever).
If you flashed KDZ and think the baseband has not changed, what is happening is simple: the info in System settings > About phone > Software information > Baseband version doesn't change, well, at least in several versions of KDZ (ICS or JB) I flashed, the Baseband info was the same.
But, there is a best place to check baseband version: in Hidden Menu > Version Info > Factory Version.
If you flashed a KDZ changing the baseband (*.fls) you will see, Factory Version reflects the baseband.
For example, if you used a KDZ of V20B Australia changing the baseband by LGP768.fls of V10B Claro Brazil, you will see: LGP768fAT-00-V10b-724-05-AUG-26-2013 regardless of the version of KDZ.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for repplying. The thing is that for Brazil they not updated P768 to JellyBean, so i'm on the way to flash JB on this, because ICS is too much slow in many situations..
I will try to explain what is hapening and if you could, please, help me figure this out.
My network provider is Oi, it operates in frequency 1900MHz for 2G and 2100MHz for 3G. Another networks here uses different frequencies, one is not compatible with another, so the phones here need to be quad band (850, 900, 1800, 1900), 3G (850, 1900, 2100)
So i flashed already many roms and can tell some experiences i had:
- MEXICO JB: Everything working normal, except for 3G: I think LG disabled the 3g working in 2100MHz on mexico roms, so i have not 3g
- SOUTH AFRICA JB: Everything works, including 3G . The strange thing is that after a day using it without rebooting the phone, i simple lost carier signal, so i cannot receive/send messages or calls. In this state, my phone shows me i do have signal, but nothing works.
--- I tried switching the radio.fls from many roms to see if this problem disappear, like Brazil's ICS radio, mexico radio, europe, p769 v21 radio.. The problem persists after every test
--- Strange thing is that sometimes took me a day to lost signal, but sometimes took me less than 2 hours
- VIETNAM JB: same as SOUTH AFRICA
- EMIRATED ARAB JB: same as SOUTH AFRICA
So this is my situation, i'm stucked with a locked bootloader and ICS due to this carrier's signal problem..
I dont know if LG disabled something in these roms that dont use some frequencies.. After some search, i found this:
http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html
looks like some countries do use 2100MHZ for 3g, but still gives me that problem. I don't know what else i can do
Sorry for late reply, I've been busy the last days.
So, did you flash a KDZ (Mexico, South Africa, Vietnam, etc.) switching the baseband in the middle of the flashing, right?
And the version of the baseband is showing in Hidden Menu > Version Info > Factory Version?
Did you make another modifications (like changing rild or lge-ril.so)?
I also tested several JB versions (Mexico, Australia, Open Europe, etc.) with the ICS Claro Brazil baseband and didn't notice any abnormal behavior (radio related, of course; the roms have their own bugs:silly.
But maybe the difference is in the methodology. When "nothing works", if you switch (off-on) Airplane mode, makes any difference? Signal strength is showing in status bar? After reboot, the phone returns to normal?
I will try the same versions (Vietnam and Emirated Arab I have not yet experienced!), but now my bootloader is unlocked, and my provider is Claro BR.

Can I flash other country stock rom over my SM-N900P (Sprint Note 3)

I have a Sprint Galaxy Note 3, Model : SM-N900P. But I am living in Malaysia, I am suspecting the different CSC will not allow me to connect to my 4G network (I am sure I am within the 4G coverage area, and my SIM card is 4G enabled) My current CSC is XAS, My region CSC should be XME.
I downloaded the Malaysia Stock ROM "N9005XXUGNI4_N9005OLBGNL1_N9005XXUGNL1_HOME.tar.md5" and tried flashing it via Odin but failed. Odin tells Security check failed.
Can anyone advise how can I flashing the Malaysia Stock ROM into my Sprint Note 3, or if this is possible technically?
If flashing other country stock ROM is not possible technically, how about changing the CSC from XAS to XME? probably without Root.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

I also using SM900P in Penang, seems stock ROM works well with Celcom SIM card, so I don't think using different ROM is necessity

Great to know some one in Malaysia using the same model! So are you using the latest stock Sprint N900PVPUDNK4 ROM? What is the network mode at your setting?
As for my case, my network (including cellular network) disconnected at all when I switch to LTE/CDMA mode which the only mode that has LTE. So I have to switch back to automatic to have phone and mobile data connected, however only H+ connection, but no LTE.
Please let me know your network mode setting… and also any setting you have made over APN?
Network is automatic, also only H+ only(suspected it's also 4G?), using latest stock of 4.4.4 NK4 with root.

HI Eric,
As far as what I know, H+ is definitely not LTE connection. LTE connection shows a "4G" sign at the task bar.
You have the same ROM as mine, stock NK4 (4.4.4). So the only LTE option you can choose in the network mode is LTE/CDMA. But referring to another note 3 of a friend of mine which bought locally via Maxis. The network mode should look like "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)"
I then found a way to get my network mode set identical to this. Using root explorer, in system/csc/sales_code.dat. open this file using text editor, change the XAS to XME then save it, restart phone and you should get the network mode LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)
However, I still unable to achieve 4G connection, even when I'm in 4G area. Unless someone can confirm that SM-N900P is not 4G capable in different region (my region, Malaysia) due to hardware limitation, probably different 4G band frequency (I don't know)… or I should keep trying…
Still hoping someone who can help!
