anyone else experiencing this? Is this only for our galaxy S phones or are other phones experiencing this as well?
I don't want to do the lag fix cause I really don't know the long term affects of using it. reading posts about data corruption, programs not working, no clue if i have to revert when froyo comes out, copying back data if you run out of space manually? yeah, just a little too complicated for me in case something goes wrong.
oh btw, latest google voice update is on the market now, it has widgets now.
I do not have the lag fix, when I click Voice I can go...

I cant even start saying it no lag fix either.
Are mississippi's the standard for measuring lag on Android?
I only use my google voice for voice mail but it opens almost instantly and I'm not using a lag fix.
yes I have the same problem its takes really long to open the gvoice app...it didn't used to do that before the last update...it's kinda annoying

A friend of mine at work has a Droid X and it does the same on his phone. He would get some lag opening up the app and major lag on receiving the notifications as well. The notifications are fairly quick on my Vibrant. But sometimes opening up and even trying to enter a text in GV is painful.
Have any of you tried clearing the cache? It takes hella long on my mytouch but I assumed that's because the mytouch is hella slow. Perhaps not...
After awhile, GV is really ****ing up for me. It's the new update with the widgets and whatnot, I would stand by for a new update that fixes the lag.
it did it before the latest update. it's issue with the vibrant, not gv, especially after installing the lagfix and things were near instant.
Is anyone still getting lag in Google Voice? I'm running Bionix 1.7 with the Voodoo kernel, and everything is buttery smooth with the exception of Google Voice. It occurs even while composing text messages within GV ("hey how ar" -- 6 second lag -- then the rest of my keystrokes appear in rapid succession).
Running Bionix 1.9 NOT overclocked and NO lag fix, everything runs as fast as on my Nexus
I dont have any lag on the phone 90% of the time, BUT some apps I suppose are not made with Galaxy in mind and do lag. I am sure this has something with apps.
I've got absolutely no problems using GV. You can see what I'm running below

Yup, same here. I usually open up the task manager and it helps out a little bit. I've also noticed that the occasional reboot helps to prevent this.
I'm running 1.9 though.

I think it has something to do with Google Voice. Do you notice lag with GV on your Nexus?

I've had lag with GV going back to stock JFD, JFD with ext2 lag fix, and finally Bionix with ext4 (voodoo) lag fix. I'm wondering if it's just GV at this point

How heavily do you use GV? I have quite a few texts (a few threads at the 100 maximum per thread) in my inbox. I'm wondering if that's the cause.
Voice used to lag horrendously for me but now I have no lag fix running Bionix 1.9.1 and it's running perfectly now

Same for me. I use to dread using Google Voice because it was so slow to respond to everything. I did have a lot of text as well but with Bionix with OC/UV/VOODOO Kernel that issue is gone and I can actually use it again and not get mad with it's unresponsive behavior. Thank XDA!
Edit -- I honestly don't know what it could be. I don't remember it ever lagging when I had my Nexus One. It's still slow to open but everything is just more responsive that it doesn't bother me anymore.

After I updated it yesterday, it's the fastest I've seen it. Weird. Anything is better than it was though lol

no lag on Nexus and Vibrant. But i only use GV for voicemail.
I tested Nexus browser vs Vibrant and they also seemed to be the same. however 3rd party Xscope V5 browser worked fine on Nexus, but lagged alot on Vibrant.
Also noticed small lag with 3rd party keyboard that i am using.......
All lag was fixed with ext2 lagfix (voodoo lagfix helped too but not at much) but i dont want to use any fixes now. i just use stock browser now and everything else seems to work good

You mean since you flashed to Bionix 1.9.1? Or since you updated the GV app?

Well I get absolutely no lag anywhere except in GV. This has been the case with ext2 lag fix and ext4 (Voodoo). I think GV lag is dependent on GV text message usage then. I'm going to try synching GV to a new Google account

Hm this is interesting. Did you notice the issue went away with Bionix 1.9.1 specifically, or did some other event eliminate the lag?
I have noticed that whenever I scroll, my music player starts to sutter. I'm running Community Rom v3, but I noticed that it happenes with other roms too. I don't know if it's some type of bug or what? It's really anoying, it never happened on my OG Droid, Dinc, or any other device.
It gets really anoying, I can't scroll or the music will be stutter like bad signal on FM Radio. Clicking the screen doesn't really affect it, so it's gotta be some type of bug. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you guys have any ideas?
Thanks for any help.
I had this issue on the comm rom. Haven't had it on CM7.

So, could it be TouchWiz related?
It's an issue with the Froyo kernel. It will happen on all Roms that use a Froyo kernel. Some have said that repartitioning their phone using Odin alleviated the problem.
I have a thread on this in the general section here.
Ive had this issue after having voodoo control load the latest kernel module. Yhe way I fix it is to odin the full DL09 that adrynalyne provides in the how to get to edo1 thread. Using the atlas pit with repartition checked. I never have the problem again unless I load the kernel module again.

The famous SMS bug where your text messages go to a different recipient bit me last night, using the stock HTC mms app on an old rom. Using handcent or a different 3rd party app usually makes that problem go away. The new roms (i'm flashing BAMF 2.0.5 right now) all feature sense 3.0 mms apps, do these solve that sms bug or no?
I have had many bugs with 2.0.5. The camera is on like at least a 5 second delay, if it doesn't FC first. I get MMS out of order and I am currently in the process of going back to 1.6.3 until these minor flaws get worked out. I would love to keep 2.0.5 on my phone but I need it to be reliable and stable and have all of the phones features working properly.
In by no way am I knockin the work of team BAMF or their work. As a matter of fact I love it. Just like a little more options and customizations available for my phone. I am going to continue to flash every new update for BAMF GB but just want something to fall back on until the final is released.
This is only prevalent in a previous version of gingerbread. Should be patched in 2.3.4.
Sent from my ADR6400L using XDA Premium App
Meaning what exactly? All versions of GB are 2.3.4?
First, let me say I did search for this issue and couldn't find an answer. I saw that one user had asked the same question in the original CM7 nightly thread (not the twice weekly), but never received an answer. Sorry if it's been answered elsewhere.
I'm running the latest CM7 nightly from Sam3000, although this isn't a new issue. While on a call, SMS notifications play through the rear speaker, causing the person on the other end of the call to hear it as well, interrupting them. I've dug around all the settings on the phone itself and can't find a fix.
Is there something I'm missing? Is there any sort of flashable mod to change this? I'm using the stock messaging app, as I actually prefer it to GoSMS and the like, but if using a 3rd party app is my only hope then so be it.
Thoughts?
I was just wondering what different glitch kernels people were using and what things it is supposedly supposed to fix.
My build 6 was working great and i didn't even need a glitch kernel, i had no problems whatsoever, but i decided to update to 6.5. Now my calendar doesn't work and some other things just don't run as smoothly. I'm not sure why i decided to update...
Anyway will any glitch kernels fix this and if so what are people running. What things are the new kernels supposed to fix
Any links would be appreciated
Thanks
EDIT: Now in my settings under accounts and sync it has an exclamation point by "sync com.android.calendar" and at the bottom it says "syn is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly"

Flash this gapps fixer for your calendar problem. Glitch kernel could be helpful as far as "smoothness" is concerned, you can read about the kernel features on the thread. One nice thing is not having to deal with the call volume issue either.

Aww sweet that is exactly what I was looking for and it worked. I'm not sure why I searched everywhere and I never even heard anyone mention that gapps fixer
