[Q] Dead bug behind LCD glass - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I have this tiny bug that seems to have died behind the glass on my tab... It looks like 3-4 dead pixels, really annoying :/
Anyone know if its possible to separate the glass from the screen on these tabs so I can clean it? Or should I call Samsung about a repair?

I'd contact Samsung and get them to sort it out, it's not worth you risking your warranty having a go yourself.
You should post a 'bug report' pic!

Please take a photo! I have to see this!

hmm ok I guess Ill try samsung before trying to dissect it myself

i think this has happened to me as well! have you managed to send it to samsung successfully? will they just accept a return if you just say a bug died behind your screen?

There was dust in my screen(like 3 tiny vibers) plus a dead pixel so I refunded my tab at the mediamarkt(the retailer) and got a new one. Should always try the retailer before sending it to samsung. Reason beging is when you bring it to samsung your self the retailer doesn't need to provide you with the 2 year warranty at the retailer(this are EU laws as far as I know).

My Galaxy S II took a faceplant :(

I'm officially a Go Phone carrier now. My phone off the bed this morning and face planted right on my tiled floor. LCD is demolished, glass perfectly in tact. Man it sucks so bad. iPhone 4 is off at the shop having it's battery terminal soldered back on and I really wanted to use my GS 2 but the LCD is like 150 bucks.
Anyone had any luck with AT&T giving a one time warranty replacement for issues like this?

With the deductible being $150, I really saw no point. I can't afford to shell out that much every time something goes wrong with my phone.

Suck man. Same thing happened to my Captivate. The SGS2 came out 2 days later thankfully.
Maybe you have an upgrade lying around somewhere and can get a skyrocket for 199?
If I were you, id be hunting around for someone who broke just the touch layer and is wanting to part with their paperweight. Also, I was under the impression that AMOLED's are on a metal plate or some such, not a glass screen like an LCD? maybe I'm wrong?
Save up and just buy a replacement screen.

You could check out MobileTechVideos for help. The owner, Josh, has a profile on XDA I believe. He can replace a lot of stuff. Maybe he can help! I can't post links yet but just google it.
Samsung screens are super easy to replace. Just really expensive.

What kind of credit card did you purchase it with? Some cards (american express comes to mind) offer like... 60 or 90 days of accidental damage/theft protection for purchases made on it. So check with your credit card company.

Liquipel I777

Has anyone sent their Galaxy S ii(I777) to Liquipel? I know it's not an option on their list of phones but they still let you send your device. I sent my device on Friday and will receive it back this week, you guys interested in knowing that if it actually works? Ill post up a video of my Galaxy S ii I777 getting ''Wet'' on.

Update! I just posted a video on my Liquipiel-ed Device.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-MQEXOVMok&feature=youtu.be
Looks interesting but since I got my very first dumbphone I never had problems with getting water on it.
It opens up possibilities, but nothing I need at the moment.
Passing it on to my foolish friends though, so thanks for that!
No problem!
So it makes it water resistant but not proof right?

I saw a product similar to this years ago when it was still in testing, and I thought it looked awesome. (Showed a guy playing with an iPhone 3G underwater).

I want see more reviews as its really new. But This is real. And does work. Here is how.
Hydrophobic nanocules are applied via vacuum. Thus coating the outside AND INSIDE from water molecules (which are bigger than the nanocules) thus can't get in and create a conduction.
It is rated itx-7 meaning it is waterproof to up to 30min at 1 meter (3feet) depth... Jeez. So i wanna go swimming with it

Its not meant for warranty purposes.. This is just for anyone that wants to protect their device from water damage.
Im sure it voids the warranty..
*edit* .. I think they are also trying to get in with (somebody.. I forget, but they mentioned it at CES).. so that phones come with the Liquipel protection - which is a great idea but than the suppliers end up losing money because of not having to replace asany phones.. Not sure how it all works but somebody loses potential mula

i played with this stuff at CES this year. It was Fascinating! They used the stuff on a Napkin and had it sitting in a pool of water. When you pushed the napkin around in the water it never got wet and just rolled off (unless you were extremely harsh with it).
Quite impressive to see. You could also see the water interacting with the screen as it splashed against it (showing that its not just a "fake" cover)

I dropped my Note

So to make a long story short my note fell out of my pocket today while I was helping out at a fundraiser car wash. No major damage done but just a small nick and scratch on the top right corner on the screen and outside. The actual functionality of the phone is fine and I can probably live with it but this small damage is going to eat away at me. So I want to know if I call att and complain about something wrong with my phone will they replace it? I have ensquared insurance and I don't want to use my $75 deductible yet.
And I've had the phone for over 30 days too

That's what sucks, I had the portfolio case on it because it was a gift, but I've been holding out for an otterbox case because I have a $50 coupon.
I think I might take the plunge because with my Atrix I had a legit issue that couldn't always duplicate but the speaker part was dented plus was unlocked and I was able to swap phones

First of all I was heading up the car wash to raise money for kids to go to a summer camp. I actually brought my atrix with me to swap sim cards but I left it in my car parked across the street. While running across the street it feel out of my pocket. Big picture I am grateful that no major damage was done but also that we all should be mindful how big this phone is and how easy it is to forget. Either way I've decided to just ride it out because any case that wraps around the phone will cover it up.

I cracked my screen I believe by sittiing on on it while in my back pocket. I called Samsung and they would replace the screen fro $197.00. Since I have a Square Trade warranty, I caledl and they could not fix the display so they gave me the full cost to replace it minus $49 decuctible.

I contacted HTC by email first. Then they gave me a number for their repair center in the states. At first they were like we cant send you a replacement because im in Canada and they told me to contact my carrier(ROGERS), but then I told them my carrier told me to call you guys. They then authorized sending me a sprint back cover for the American version but they warned me it might not fit. Then they asked me if i wanted white or black.

Its coming form the states and im in Canada so it might take a while I will still post up pictures when its here. And its not really a waste we only have one warranty for the backcover and all the other parts are still warranted if i have any problems. so as long as i don't have any other battery cover issues it will be fine. Plus the white ones are more expensive i could get a black on ebay for like $5 but a white is around 30-40.

Don't tell them your serial number, just the first number they ask for.
Then just tell them the glue on the ring around the camera failed and that you need a new battery cover. After some info gathering they ask you what color the phone is and just tell them white.... or possibly even tell them purple if you really want that. I made sure to keep saying the ring around the camera was silver, not red, but that probably wont matter as the guy I was talking to seemed clueless about this phone.
edit: not sure if its the serial number I didn't tell them. I just know they asked me for 2 numbers and I told him the first and that my phone didnt have the second one they asked for
Got mine in the mail today, pics up soon!
Just a bump mine came in the mail today and I uploaded some pic's. imo it looks great. It looks terrible with a case so I am not sure what I want to do now. I hate to leave my phone without protection.
Just ordered mine. Guy was very friendly on the phone. Should ship in 2-3 business days and arrive in 5-6. My phone only had a month left on warranty so I'm glad I called and used it.

I had that same thought earlier, that's why I'm glad I called when I did. Told him my fiancee dropped her phone and the battery door cracked at the bottom so it won't stay latched. Worked like a charm.

I didn't want to take another chance and I'm going to wait until they work out the kinks. Just gonna stick with my trusty S3 for now.
hot damn.... that'll definitely be an eye sore -- try asking for a replacement or open it up yourself and blow it out.
though from the picture, it looks like bad pixel though.

It's not even a week yet. Who would actually accept that they just laid out hundreds of dollars for a new device that has dust under the screen?

My lens cover came off too. Just got it repaired, apparently I'm not the only one, sprint store was aware. They fixed it very quickly. I would have griped for a exchange, but they were out of stock.

Is it easy to fix? Glue?
There's 4 metal tabs the penetrate the board and are bent back. They just opened it, and bent them back in place.
