I was having problems with my Vibrant t959, so I formatted my main SD card in my phone, and now I Get The black Vibrant screen, or a black screen with the rotating clock thing but it freezes. My Vibrant won't connect to my pc (Win7 64 bit) for Kies or ODIN. I am new to SGS phones. If anyone can halp me to get my phone working again please help! Thanks! I think I deleted EVERYTHING on my phone. It sucks! Anyone know how to get stuff on my phone without it being recognized by my PC?
You shouldn't have any problem getting your computer to detect it in download mode through Odin. Try installing the drivers again. If it's bricked after you try to Odin back to stock then you should try using Eugene's unbrickable froyo rom

But I have never been able to get my phone to be recognized on my pc, always did my stuff w/o my PC. I just have it stuck on the black screen and nothing will happen. I'm lost... any more suggestions?
OK so it says Downloading... Do not turn off target!!! Is this good? And how long should this take to do what it's doing?

Odin wont recognize it even in download mode? Once you put it in download mode have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in while Odin is on? It should say com6 in yellow in the box on the top left
Also, what were you doing when it bricked? What mods have you done?

Install Kies Mini on your PC that should install the correct drivers, then use the latest version of ODIN.

Try this first: Google: "Froyo that does not brick"
I have CWM 3.0.8, and want to get back to the red recovery, so that I can flash a new rom on my fascinate. The problem is, that I can not for the life of me get my phone to show up on Odin. I have tried on two different computers. I have used Odin on both computers for this phone, so the drivers are all installed. Any ideas? The rom I have now is a force close nightmare. I would like to get back to something that is stable.
Thanks for any help,
Brad

Ive used odin before, I just cant get the fascinate to be detected by the computer. It wont even mount the sd card via the usb cable to transfer files. I got the phone in download mode, connected to the computer through the usb cable, but can not get the yellow "added" dialog in odin so that I can flash the .tar file...
Thanks for the help so far,
Brad
Maybe a stupid question but do you have Odin open before you plug the phone in.

You can also try to reinstall drivers or even odin check to see that you have odin 3 1.3 and maybe reinstall odin it can be found here in one of the forums.
I have tried it both ways, going into download mode, then opening odin, and first opening odin, then going into download mode.
Now, I have another problem. I was able to do a data wipe, which stopped the force close loop. I was then able to get my phone workable at least. Then, while resetting everything, I dropped it on my coffee table and the touch screen will not respond. The phone's soft keys work fine and i can turn it on, but have to do a battery pull to turn it off. I have tried turning off/rebooting, and again doing a data wipe. I don't know what else to do other than take it in, but I don't think that is possible since it is rooted
Hello friends,am in serious need of help,i plug in my ace to my computer using the cable and kies detected a new firmware which i tried to update to,after downloading finish to 100%,my phone restarted and shows downloading on the screen, for like 1hr it didnt change to any other thing and kies couldnt detect the phone,so i disconnected it from the cable,i removed the battery and inserted it again, now the phone can start up but all i can see on the screen is a computer icon with a phone icon,i dont know what to do,pls help...anybody with useful information or solution should post it here thanks.l
Remove then insert battery. Then try holding volume down and home button while holding power button. Will it go to download mode? If yes, read hubix's tutorial in the development subforum it's a sticky thread.

Next time , use ODIN for flashing firmware . Kies was NEVER EVER reliable .
go to recovery mode perform a factory reset/data wipe that should fix it
Please use ODIN and flash with the one-package file from samfirmware. I did the same when Kies bricked my phone too while upgrading to Gingerbread. It works!

Nope, there is no recovery mode accessible either when Kies bricks your phone. Happened to me so. Just a stupid screen with a computer and phone icon with <!> in between them. But anyway my suggestion above of using ODIN should help him out. =)
I am just sharing my experience and hope it helps.

I had bricked my phone once where I could just see black screen and after some tries white screen and nothing. I removed SD Card and SIM Card and kept it aside. I then removed battery and tried putting phone in download mode. It still did not work then I waited 4-5 min and then inserted battery again. Then I tried putting phone in download mode and it successfully gone in download mode. Then my phone was not getting recognized thru USB cable for ODIN. I changed USB port still same issue then restarted my PC and then I connected phone to USB port and finally got Froyo installed again on my Galaxy Ace thru ODIN.
My phone is bricked

Well, sounds like you're atleast able to get into download mode; so you're still golden, no reason to really be worried.
By "right firmware" do you mean the version of Android you got your phone with? I'd recommend going completely back to stock via Odin. Just keep trying.
Ya mate just go on wat u do, i havent play with odin yet but im pretty sure doesnt bricked yet, have u try boot into bootloader?

Had this same problem recently. What I did was try to put it in download mode again by holding the up and down volume keys and plugging in the cable, it would show up as the icon as you mentioned but the computer would recognize it to be in download mode. I would then use odin like normal. Are you sure you are using the correct .pit and .pda file just in case?
