I've recently "Silent Boot" on my GS2 and it works perfectly. Whenever I start the phone there is no sound during the boot animation. But when the phone actually starts there is this horrible SD card mounting sound that wasn't there before. I've checked with Root Explorer system/media/ui and could not find this sound there to delete it. Does anyone know where it is? Or an alternative to mute the sound during the boot animation?
thanks in advance

hello,
please help..
my ringtones and notifications change. Not even to the same ones every time its just completely random what they change to....
please help.
When does it happen? Does it happen right after you had it hooked up to your computer? If so are you "safely removing the USB" device from windows? And letting the phone mount all the internal memory and storage??
it's a known issue and will happen at random for custom ringtones placed on either the internal SD or external SD. quite annoying and it seems like it's an general Android thing. The only surefire way to fix it is to root and place your custom ringtones/notifications in /system/media/audio/ringtones and /system/media/audio/notifications . Use adb to move the files or get Root Explorer to move the files from your phone.
TKS A LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I use stock eclair rom (2.1.1.A.0.6) x10 mini... When it boots and says "preparing sd card" it makes a sound that can not be muted or anything else.... How can I remove this freaking sound??? Any ideas???
in sound and display settings, sd card sonds can be disabled
For those who have been losing ringtones/notifications (or having them not play sound), I have worked out the possible cause and a fix. In my case I tried CyanogenMod 10.1 which caused me to lose the contents of my Micro SD card. Using ES File Explorer, I found there was not only a file system for the SD-Card and External SD-Card, but a whole lot of other directories labelled USB A, B, C and so on. Using ES File Explorer with root privileges, I deleted the new directories and voila, my ringtones and notifications are no longer reverting to stock or muting when the phone rings. This was extremely frustrating for me, so I hope it helps someone else.

The problem is fixed when the phone is operating off battery, but the ringtones revert to stock or 'unknown' every morning when I take the phone off the charger. Not sure if anyone else is experiencing this problem too? Next step is to copy tones to system/media/audio folder.
Hello I have Omega v45 XXUFME3. I've installed Asphalt 7 and I have very big lags in the game. That is joke... Also graphics problem - some graphical elements arrive with half-second delay... anyone know, how to fix it? I noticed that delay also in another games...
BTW I have some questions:
Is it possible to change dialer tone sound? I don't want to disable it, just change.
And is it possible to set home button in default launcher in shortcuts? Below screen.
Also Screencast doesen't work - service is ready, but when I press button to record, then error appears... :/
Can anyone help?
EDIT: how to get access to internal sdcard clockwordmod directory? I can't see it in root explorer. Its above main directory on internal sd but not in main "/" directory in root explorer, i cant get it.

Should be on the root of the sd card or ext sd card depending upon your settings

I'm running CM12 and cannot get my ringtones to work. They are mp3s that while in the sound settings I have a ringtone set, but it doesn't play. A generic "Ding" plays instead. I've moved the files (in a Ringtones folder) from my sd card, to the "internal" sd, and into System/media... I have also converted the mp3s to ogg and did the same. Nothing works.
Is this just a CM12 bug?
I have the same problem!
From everything I have read about CM12 and Lollipop in general, this is a bug. What I find funny is that my "Droid" notification for texts works fine (I pointed it to my notifications folder on my SD card and it's an mp3).
