I upgraded my ace to Android 2.3.3 and since have been facing problem of APN not being saved. I try making new APNs and save it. And it gets saved. but if i change the MNC value it vanishes from the list.
The default MNC value is set to 03. I need it to be 039. but if it change it from 03 to 039 it just wont save.
Pleas help!

Hi,
I don't know if this has already been written on another place in this board but i think this could be an interesting information for all "Nike-Android" people...
After trying a lot of Vogue-Eclair builds on the Nike, i often had a good working system, but couldn't get DATA to work. While playing with Myn's new Eclair, i found out that the reason for a non working DATA Connection are often wrong values for MCC and MNC in the APN Settings. This is especially the case, when you are not from the USA.
I've attached an Android APN List (XML Format) which can be used to find out, which values are correct for your country. (Maybe your provider is already in this list anyway..)
So if you're in germany (like me) set MCC to 262 and MNC to 03 and of course the other entries for your provider.
But there seems to be another problem with this. As soon as you have changed that values, the APN disappears from the APN list. Obviously the APN is still there but it is not shown. So i did the following...
- Enter name, apn, username and password. Then SAVE the APN and activate it.
- Select the APN again and set your values for MCC and MNC and save again.
After that, the APN can't be seen anymore, but it's still there. After a Minute or so, you should see the DATA Icon in your notification bar.
Using this, i also got 'Incubus Super Eclair Lite' running here on my Nike.
In spite of all that, it's curious that everything changes to the language of your coutry after you've got the first connection to your provider, but not the Settings Tab. I'd guess that this has something to do with the DATA Problem.
Anyone who has an idea, why the Settings Tab always stays English ?
Greetz, lagloose
Anyone here know how to make the sgsIII save the APN ? I had to enter the proper APN info, but it forgets it every time it boots.
I am on Koodo with is a subcompany of Telus with same MNC as Telus. So this telus phone works fine on it. But every time I reboot the Koodo APN info I enter is gone leaving only the Telus ones which wont work.
Any help is always appreciated guys.
Thanks.
No one has any ideas eh. I flashed a rooted version of my ROM and added the APN but I still lose it every reboot. Is there a file I could enter it into so as to not lose it ?
Tried editing files directly, no go.
system\framework\framework-res.apk the APN file in there
and the actual /system/etc/apns-conf.xml
No luck! Someone must know something
Ok grepped the whole framework apk for it, it isn't there. Doh

It says you cannot restore APNs in ICS on play store apps. Doh!
There is a system back up item in Titanium called "Dialer Storage 4.0.4 - SMS/MMS/APN" that should do the trick.

Wish I could just edit the default telus APN into the koodo apn then I'd never have this trouble again
Ill try titanium
Dear All,
Can someone help me with the locations where the settings for 1x/3g data are stored on the samsung fascinate. On a custom rom, I have tried copying files from system /etc/ppp folder, copied apns config file, changed the build.prop etc but nothing helps. I can access the apn settings via elixir app but does not allow me to change the mcc and mnc codes. How do I change the mcc and mnc codes. The codes in my nam settings are correct, ie 405 & 00 resp.
Alternatively, when a rom is built, it is built for a specific service provider eg verizon, telus, sprint, uscc etc. What different settings are done to the roms while doing this. Can these settings be incorporated so that the rom will work on Reliance networks (India).
Any help in this matter would be appreciated.
To access apns open voice dialer and say "open apns" from there you can create/edit the APN.
If all else fails *228 might work, not sure if that matters by country.
If you have the info or can get it check on rootzwiki site under development in fascinate/mesmerize/ showcase forums for ReidandKat ROM Konverter he may can set it to make the changes for you

"Open APNs" does seem to work with JB using Google Now. Unless there is some trick to it. =(
Hey, I got a Galaxy s4 att unlocked run Android 4.4.2. I use straight talk and I need to change the MNC which is set to 260 as a default for some reason. When I change it from 260 to 410 and save the apn, the apn disappears. I've don't it over and over and it keeps on disappearing as soon as i change MNC and save it. Previous owner told me its unlocked. Does anyone know about this issue?
Hi,
I have a problem to set apn to mmc: 294 and mnc: 02, for One network in Macedonia
After entering these values, with save or exit, this "apn name" disappear from apn list?
With stadard mmc and mnc values, I can save apn, but I do not have internet, with my current provader, who choice not to use standards mmc: 310 and mnc: 260
Any idea how I can fix it
Fixed, this could happen because market unlocker. Deactivate it, and set new apn. Later you can activate market unlocker again.
