Hi all,
Just curious if any Bell users are experiencing the same battery performance as I am.
My phone is complete stock. The only change I've made is using launcher pro.
I leave for work on a full charge at 7am and by 5pm, I'm down to 30% after light to moderate use. By this I mean, sending 20-30 txt msgs, checking my email and twitter half a dozen times.
It seems like poor performance to me.
Thanks in advance for any comments.
your battery is bad because you have emails, calendar, weather, and news constantly syncing throughout the day. theres so many battery threads, do a search and and check out the developer forums and you will find out what you can do.
Try changing your browser settings on the phone to load plug-ins "on demand". This made a significant improvement for me. I went from 20-30% by 5pm to having 70+% by 5pm. I'm on day 2 of light useage and still at 50% (24+ hours so far)
If that doesn't fix it, charge that beast to full, unplug it, and do a factory reset. Then let it drain till she powers off.
Do a full charge (8-10 hrs) up and full drain (use phone till it shuts off by itself) a couple of times and you should get amazing battery life. When doing the charging turn your phone off and just plug in the wall charger.
When the battery has finished charging do a factory reset once (don't need to do it every time you cycle battery).
I didn't do this initially and my phone had like maybe 8-9 hrs of battery life on the very first charge. After I did a couple of full cycles my phone would last me almost 2 days with moderate use. I have the Bell version of the phone as well.
I have a Captivate running Dark Knight's 4.0.4 and the battery life I get is very poor. Usually it says that Android OS or Google Services is taking about 30, 40+ percent in battery life. I get about only 10 hours of use with the device, and i still get battery drain even when it is in sleep. I've checked better battery stats and gtalk_async_conn has been waking up the device. I disabled all syncing, and in the Play Store disabled automatic checking for updates. I've tried calibrating my battery also but nothing, mainly since the phone cant turn on for some reason while it is charging. But no matter what I do, that process is still killing my battery. Does anyone know how to fix this? I had the phone off and charging for 12 hours, and 1 hour has past since i turned it on, using the phone for about 3 minutes, and the rest of the time it was in sleep, and the battery is down to 91%. Please Help!
Hi everybody!
I've had my AT&T HTC One (M7? not the new one) for several months now and it's great. All of a sudden it's running really hot and chewing up battery. On the 1A wall charge it's fine but when charging from my computer it actually loses battery not stays charged or charging. This morning (about 9:30AM) it was at 100%. Now, just over two hours later, it's at 86%.
I uninstalled/disabled some extra apps. But it's still happening.
Usage according to the battery manager is:
Android System 56%
Google Play services 13%
Nova Launcher 7%
Mediaserver 7%
Android OS 6%
Any suggestions appreciated. My phone is not rooted or anything I am simply posting here because some of you are the smartest and most competent smartphone experts I know of, and have come up with some fantastic software and workarounds.

Turn off the auto light sense and set it for manual or use a third party app. The sensor polling and adjusting all the time eats the battery.
Hi, if you are referring to auto brightness, I disabled that, and it's not really helping. It's not getting quite as hot but battery is draining awfully fast and it is still warmer than usual.

Have you disabled everything you don't use?
Hi
I have had my phone for a month, it has worked perfectly for the time.I am on holiday and was at the beach today, battery was at 52%, returned form the beach and my battery life percentage was jumping very randomly (e.g. 40%, 64%, 2% to 100%), until it randomized to 0% and auto-shutdown. Then i couldn't turn it back on due to no battery life. Put it in the charger and i watched for 5 minutes as it rapidly charged from 0-100%. It then at the same pace discharged to 0% and shutdown.
Due to the randomizing of the battery life in the beginning while i was browsing the internet i assume it was a bug or virus.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Is the preapps I'm having the same issue
Hey everyone,
I haven't posted here in a while but I've got a problem that suddenly surfaced on my Nexus 4.
I am running Android 5.0.1 and my ROM is Mako (beta.v0.8-20141206-OFFICIAL-mako).
Starting yesterday afternoon, my battery is suddenly draining extremely fast. Even with the screen off it drains about 30% every hour, which is ridiculous because just the day before it was only about 1-2% every hour... It also takes a very long time to charge. I charged it all night last night (about 7 hours) and it only gained 45% battery.
According to my power usage it says that "miscellaneous" is taking up 52% of the battery so that must be the cause, but that's not really helpful because it doesn't explain what miscellaneous task is the specific problem...
I haven't installed anything new, or updated any apps, or uninstalled anything. I haven't really changed anything at all for a while now.
Does anyone know how to solve this? Thanks a lot in advance!
