hi guyz..
im in deep trouble. i've a htc hd2 with android installed on it. i tried to restore its original windows OS. i followed a thread and downloaded leoimg.nbh and tried to installed. now im getting this error and phone get stuck after that "Upgrade Rom code error please try again.".
i tried every solution avaliable on the forums but couldn't find any luck.
another problem is when i try to download ROM from htc.com it asks for serial number and when i enter serial number mentioned at the back of the phone "S/N:SH076NW02591" it gives error "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device". then i tried different roms avaliable over internet:
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_FRA_3.14.406.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_NOR_3.14.409.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
Energy.Leo.29022.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.XTREME.Jul.05
but every time i get the same error.
this is the info from the red, green and blue screen
PB81100 SS-BC
SPL-1.42.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
plz help me on this. im getting very frustrated its been two days and still stuck on this error.
If you cannot download ROM file from htc.com by entering your serial number you have a branded HD2, as simple as that.
Therefore you have two options:
1. gold card method (to create one you need a running Windows Mobile on your HD2), no option for you.
2. using HSPL: see this tutorial for information.
thnx for reply uli71
plz forgive me if im missing something coz i don't know much about htc phone as this is my first time im using htc phone.
when i start my phone it get stuck at red, green blue screen and does not load the windows.
can i still use HSPL?
i've tried connecting my phone with PC using WMDC but it's showing "Not Connected" and on my mobile screen it still stuck on the red green blue screen and showing this
SPL-1.42.0000 XE
MicroP(LED) 0x05
MicroP(TOUCH) 0x50
i've tried the HSPL method.
restarted my phone with holding the volume down button and then connected the phone with USB cable and started the HSPL4.exe file.
it fixed the red green blue screen error but after rebooting the phone it shows HTC on white background screen and get stuck forever.
any suggestions?
anyone????????
After installing HSPL3.03 by using HSPL4.exe you should do a Task29 and then flash your prefered ROM.
For both you can use LeoAdvancedRUU.exe. Task29 is option 4, flashing ROM with HSPL is option 1.
...and both can be started from bootloader screen. (volume down and power buttons at the same time as you already know),
Task29 completed successfully. but for Tast 28 option 1 "select NBH file" dropdown is empty. how can i load NBH file in that dropdown?
Extract/decompress your downloaded RUU_Leo_S_HTC_XXX_3.14.XXX.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2. 15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship.exe file with 7-zip or something similar.
Then you will have the RUU_signed.nbh file.
Copy that file to the same folder LeoAdvancedRUU.exe is located and run LeoAdvancedRUU.exe as administrator (I forgot to mention that).
Now you can choose the *.nbh file.
FINALLY ........ after two days of frustrating attempts of fixing my htc .. can't beleive i actually fixed it..
thnx to uli71. you really are life savor buddy..
thnx again i did exactly what you said and it really done it for me.
You are welcome.
Now, you know the basics of flashing ROMs, you might test a custom ROM which gives you more features, more speed and the possibility to see the potential of your HD2.
My phone is doing the same thing but I accidently flashed a tp2 rom and now it gets stuck on the tri colored screen my screen reads
Hx-b3
Spl-2.08.0000 8g xe
MicroP(led) 0x05
microP(TOUCH) 0x50
When I try to hspl it says
Critcal error
Flow:00000003
Error code:00000004
Description: bad model id
Can anyone help me please
I had the exact same problem. Installed HSPL 3.03.HSPL via HSPL4.exe and then did the task 29 as advised, but then when flashing the stock ROM it went all the way upto 38% and then gave a connection error. I did the Task 29 again and tried flashing a custom ROM, flash progress did not go beyond 0% this time. Did a task 29 and tried another rom without any success. The third time I was doing Task 29 my phone disconnected during that and since then it shows no signs of life at all. Is that it, bricked?

Was your battery fully charged, before you started to flash?
Have you already tried to flash with SD card method?
I apologize for a delayed response, yeah, the battery was fully charged, I did try the SD card method: put in the LEOIMG.nbh file on a freshly FAT32 formatted SD card (512 MB) and put the card in my phone, but at bootloader it didn't ask for flashing, just remained the usual, showing Serial at the bottom. That was all when it was turning on, now it's totally gone, not powering up at all.. I just need someone to say to me that it's bricked sir, please get a jtager revive your phone. somebody who knows the phone and flashing etc.
---------- Post added at 01:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:46 PM ----------
I mean now that I am through with the shock of having bricked it, I just need to be absolutely sure that there is no other way that I could have tried at home to revive it myself..
Okay, so now when I turn on the phone and press the volume up button simultaneously, the phone vibrates thrice and the green LED lights up.. thats it, the screen's still totally blank..
Any ideas please?
Is my phone bricked

Man ,
I was following your instructions on post 7 . but instead of LeoAdvancedRUU 1.0.4 i flashed it from sd card . it was stuck on 25% , it vibrated 5times continously and dead after that ..I think i bricked it , anything anything at all you can do other than me changing the system board will be very very helpful .
- Have you already tried to remove your battery?
- Can you enter bootloader?
- Have you possibly tried to flash a ROM, which was not dedicated to your HD2 version?
- Was your battery fully charged before you started flashing?
- Is your SD <=2GB and FAT32 formatted?
thanks !!!

I just want to say THANKS to uli71 !!!

My dopod is on ipl/spl 2.20
while trying to update to the latest PV 4.0.0.0.6 Touch, i encountered an error..
Fine, reset the device, went to bootloader, started the PV_Temp upgrade file for my G3 dopod.
halfway, the update fails and says the NBF file cannot be used.
i've tried every other NVID rom and it is the same..
so now i'm stuck in the bootloader screeen and i can't do anything
Please try the search button in this forum!!! And don't worry it's not bricked;-)

check your .NET Framework and see if you have the 2.0 version installed. Reboot your pc and start again. We always experience these hiccoughs.
i've tried the search..
seriously saying, its quite hard to find what i want..
i seem to be able to flash the PV_TEMP ROM, it says on my computer its successful but my PDA just goes back to bootloader.
anyway, i'm installing .Net framework 2.0... will see how that goes..
still doesn't work..
RUU says its congratulations...
PDA goes back to bootloader
i cna flash jester's rom, i can flash PV_temps rom..
but all i get is the bootloader screen after that..
can't flash the NVID thats from the upgrade guide... it just says wrong NBF file..
wonder how much will it cost for me to send it to service center to replace the whole flash chip
new problem, now i can't do anything at all cause i think my batt is dead..
how can i recharge it ?

so you know now what is the problem!
recharge it by connecting to a PC with USB and wait wait wait and hope for the best. Try recharging it by what ever means you can do. If you said, you are successful in getting PVtemp, then, try installing battery_status.cab (find it search it by google or whatever) and watch the battery_status line on the front page and wait for a + sign before the 100mA at the right bottom line to appear.
Wait till it is full, then redo step 2 again. I'm sure you can get over without getting the machine to the manufacturer for repair.
no no
the first problem still stands
i'm still stuck at bootloader..
but now i can't flash anything cause my batt is dead..
so i've got 2 problems now
hello all,
sayjeng, I got the same problem last week.
I couldn't use any RUU rom because of the corrupted nbf file.
The PV_TEMP rom worked but I was stuck on boot loader screen too...
I tried many times and with some random hard resets... Eventually, the fourth time , WM5 started...
My advice are :
- charge your battery by any means like SeaPea said
- reboot your desktop computer
- remove your (fully charged) battery from your phone for some seconds and put it back...
Really, I may have been lucky that time...
I just wanted to post here to say that I sympathize...
Good luck!
will give it a try tomorrow..
its past 1am now and i need to be up early tomorrow..
if it doesn't, really have to make a trip to service center..
wonder what should i tell them then..
oh, forgot to mention
i can't hard reset..
i can get to the part where it says 'Press Send to restore factory default, Other keys to quit'
when i press Send, it says Format FAT Partition and followed by Format is Failed
then i get a flash for 1 sec of the vendor boot screen which is all green, and its back to bootloader

Jow ... flash your rom from dopod!
If your Radio Rom is crashed ... it stuck at Bootscreen too! After that it must run! it fix partition errors too.
ROm from dopod is 2.15..
my prophet is now on 2.20...
i can't flash it... i haven't been able to find a vendor rom wiht 2.20..
does anyone have any ? Qtek maybe ?
something to get my prophet running...
cause i did try in my attempt to get my prophet back by flashing the Radio ROM.. and it fails.. maybe thats why i can't boot my prophet
tried almost every rom..
used almost every RUU
anyone got any RUU that might help ?
or any suggestions ? thinking of throwing the towel and just pass it to dopod for them to handle....
worst case, change ROM chip
finally
I got this to work using the guide - BUT:
Windows XP SP2 English was the key for me.
I used VMWare to do step 1 of flashing (NVID)
then step 2 of flashing I did on a separate PC.
Worked after so many different attempts
i am running on XP sp2 english.. not using vista..
problem is, i can't even hard reset my phone.. it just says Format is Failed.
but my phone seems fine and still responds to my plugging the USB in and reseting....
Hi sayjeng
The same problem with my imate jamin too..
Whatever you said in you posts is an exact recall of my case.
Now it makes two of us
Waiting to see if someone can come up with a solution.
IPL/SPL at 2.20
Frequent automatic disconnection from activesync.
No means to charge the battery which i think is almost dead.
Tried the Dopod rom,for no avail.
The list goes on and on just like yours.
help..Anyone..?
Hello guys i have a problem with my HTC HD2.
I have searched a lot on this site before posting my problem.
This is what happens and what i did:
The phone doesn't pass the white HTC screen with the RGD letters below.
What i have tried:
HSPL 2.08.HSPL, 1.66, 1.42, 2.08.000
Radio: Leo_RADIO_2.08.50.05, Leo_RADIO_2.15.50.14
Roms: Stock Vodafone (Dutch) rom, Energy rom
Hard reset (vol up +down on startup).
Tried task 29 and started everything all over again
I went to the a phone store, they couldnt help me. Afterwards i went to the official store but i don't have my receipt anymore so i don't have a warranty..
So i think i have tried everything i could find on this forum. Tried most of the HSPL versions with diferent roms. But all of them stay on the startup screen (white htc start screen)
If someone can help me please, this is really my last chance
Thanks,
Issam
ps. i hope this is the good section to post this problem.
Well the phone starts up now (it actually works for a few minutes!). I haven't changed anything, the only thing i did is leave the battery out for like 1 hour. But everytime i start up the phone it freezes and / or turns of after 1 min or something. Sometimes it doesn't even boot up like the usual problem, but then i remove the battery for 10 minutes and it boots normal again.
So i really don't have a clue
i was experimenting all day again with my htc.
What i found out was, the longer i keep my battery out of the phone the longer i can use it.
For example: I had the battery out of the phone for about 2 hours, when I put it back in i could use it for like 10 minutes.
But when i keep the battery out for 10 minutes it freezes within 1 minute.
Maybe this will help me get the solution to this problem.
I would format the sd card just in case, also make sure you have the correct versions of what you need, rom raido ect, because theres two types of HD2s, hope this helps!!
Thanks for the reply, i tried formatting the SD card and i succeeded doing it 5 times i think. I think i have the correct version of rom and radio, how do i know?

You should remove hspl , and after that install the latest rom available on htc site for your device (download the rom from htc site, with your serial number ) . Official roms have included radio inside of them. If HSPL is removed and you have again problems with your device with an official rom installed, then you have a hardware problem. You could try to boot up without sd card installed, to see if the card is the problem.
Thank you,
I will try removing HSPL and install the original ROM from the HTC site. I'll let you guys know.

I see that you are on t-mobile network , so you should download your rom from here: http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/ . Just enter your imei and download the update. Remove HSPL and then install the official rom. Perform a hard reset after that , and see if is all ok . Keep us informed pls.
Hi, yes i have a T-mobile contract, but my phone is Vodafone branden so i'll have to download the Vodafone version I think.
But what i just did is this:
I had HSPL 2.08.HSPL and a Custom ROM on it. So I was planning on maybe sending it back. Thats why I performed a task 29 to delete all the previous (parts of the) Roms. After that i changed my HSPL to 1.66.000, the original spl I had on it.
But now the phone does vibrate when i hold the power butten (with vol down), but there is no picture, so i cant get into the phone or the Red green blue screen. So i think the phone will not boot because I deleted the Rom on the phone and also returned the spl to original.
Is there a solution for this problem? omg this phone just doesn't seem to be working for me (maybe it's me that is not working for the phone).
It is normal since you did a task29. Verify if you did it correctly here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644781
Yes i have read that thread thank you, but the question is:
How can i get the phone to connect with my PC, so I can install original ROM. Because the Boatloader screen won't start up, to make connection with my Computer. I press the power button and vol down butten at the same time. Tried it at least 20 times
Thanks you all. But i sent this phone back to HTC. The board was replaced and they sent it back, so it works again! finally my phone back
Hello, I have a problem with my HTC HD2, it doesn't want to start. When I press the power button I feel only a tiny vibration, but only when the device is connected to a power source. Without power source it won't do anything.
Things that I've done : The phone was stuck in bootloader with the error "Upgrade ROM Code Error , Please try again", it had SPL 2.08.0000 so I've flashed HSPL 2.08. After that my device wouldn't start.
Things that I've tried : Take the battery away from the device , connect the device to a power supply, wait 5 minutes then put the battery back on.
Hard-Reset.
Tried to enter bootloader.
Also tried to flash the stock rom, before flashing HSPL 2.08. My device was stuck at 0% with no progress what so ever.
Please help !

battery out, connect to wall charger and turn charger on, insert battery, dont touch it for a good half hour. dont worry if charging light doesnt come on straight away.
It sounds like the battery is possibly over discharged. doing as i listed 'should' let the phone start charging without trying to turn itself on.

yes send it back, silly to try and fix an error with a brand new phone. (Also, hijacking threads is considered bad manners. )
Thank you very much samsamuel,by the way I have one more question to ask : Is it possible to brick the device by simply flashing HSPL 2.08 ? (SPL 2.08.0000 was installed)

Hi!Unfortunately i have a big problem with my hd2.I have hacked it with hspl3.I have it 4 months now and i have flash to it about 10 roms. After i flashed the last rom suddenly my hd2 closed and when i opened it showed a white screen.I tried

bad news for you i'm afraid. i'm not aware of any successful fixing of radio update error.
Ok,thanks, I hope that the battery is the source of this problem, not the device .
I went today at a local service, they've told me that the battery is 100% charged. Unfortunately the problem is with my HD2. I left it in service and I will pick it up tomorrow repaired I hope. Thank you for helping me.

Hi, I tried to instal Android 2.3 Gingerbread on my htc hd2 but when I installed MAGLDR it stopped working. I realized I had installed the wrong HSPL, but now it won't start or respond to a USB connection. I can't turn it on or off and it only shows a white image with HTC on it....Does someone know how to help?

pull battery, restart into bootloader, apply 2.08.hspl,restart.
My HD2, won't start up.
My plan was to remove an ICS rom, but during my reinstallation of an other rom everything got deleted..
Now my problem, it won't load into MAGLDR, I do have HSPL 2.08 etc.
Does someone have an idea?

Ok beings as you've told us nothing in your post .
1. Are you using a 100% genuine Topaz (Diamond 2)?
2. Which ROM are you trying to flash ?
3. is the progress bar on the white flash screen or on the first boot windows screen?
4. Have you used Hard_spl?
5. Are you using a guide to flash your phone or just going hit & miss styls?
6. Are you flashing from the memory card or from the computer?
Add those to your next post and maybe we'll be able to help you

Ok that should be the correct version for Hard_spl but for the sake of it go into tri-colour mode (details in the Hard spl thread) and check it says olinex in that mode. If it does some people have reported that doing this works.
1. Reflash to stock ROM ( i know you have already done this and can skip this step but it's there for future use)
2. Run the Hard_spl relocker file found in the hard spl thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312
3. Start the phone make sure the stock ROM still works ok.
4. Reflash Hard_spl newest version again found in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312 follow instructions in that thread.
5. Once you have the Hard_spl installed on your device (again it's in that first post how to check)
6. Pick your new ROM from the ROM's section on this forum.
7. Download and flash using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=585201 (Please note it's easier and technically safer to flash using a memory card if you have one as this minimizes - if not removes - the chance of getting a connection error)
If it doesn't say Olinex then you haven't flashed hard_spl successfully follow the thread listed above to flash it on then your ROM

TURBO HW/TURBO SW

193,205 829,206

2)Yes I eventually get the 262 error.
I went to the HTC site and ran their stock HTC pure image and it worked just fine.

nooo, do not put it in bootloader manually by pressing buttons!
run Automatic mode in Hard-SPL, and tell me what the phone screen shows before flashing.
I have exactly the same problem with one of my Topaz, have two, the other one did not have any problem? Stays at 0% and then error.

are you using automatic mode?
I've tried both modes, in automatic it say that I can't use it profesionally, I guess it complains because I already flashed the other one? But then again I can't even run the TopazSPLRelocker_SPL133, it to stays at 0% and then error, feels like the phone would have a dip switch that sayn, no flashing, but then again, stock rom just works fine everytime.
BTW my phone have these data:
Topa100 32M
SPL-2.51.0000
MicroP-Topaz (LED) v10
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
Cool, everything is turbo, hw and sw, hahahahahahaha

Hey, i tried to install android on my HD2 several times and failed, but then i noticed i had wrong version of hspl so i couldn't start MAGLRD (i had 3.03 i think i should've had 2.08 right?) Anyway i then tried to remove the HSPL by formatting my sd card and putting the file from original rom (i don't remember the name) and renaming it to LEOIMG, it started installing the rom i went to another room, when i came back it had finished and was on the red/blue/green screen and it said update failed and i had to retry, but now none of the exes work like rom updates or task29 nothing. when i turn on the phone it says "Not allow" and then goes to the red/blue/green screen. Please help me, I'm freaking out is there any way to fix it? Is there even a way to access SD card when the phone does this?
TomaToz, use the computer to flash via USB cable.
I can't, none of the rom updates or ANYTHING works since this, they all give errors
go to the magLDR page and look for how to remove it.
then start from scratch
There's no info how to remove it but even if there was how would i? None of the exes work and i can't turn the phone on, also i dont think MAGLRD got installed cause i had HSPL 3.03 instead of 2.08
Come on isn't htere anyone who ca help me? :|
are you sure you haven't bricked your phone?
because it just seems you did :/
I don't think you read the bold "You need HardSPL 2.08 before installation!" just above the history?
anyway, can you not flash a radio via USB as well?
also, if you post the error messages you get maybe we can help you more.
you can also check here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10275463
What does bricked mean? :9
and no i can not flash radio or anything else, i'll edit this message with a picture of what the error message looks like
EDIT: WOW, i tried to run the hspl installation and installed hspl 2.08 successfully, not i turned my phone on and its the screen where you choose to start the update for rom. This is the update after which my hd2 said "Update failed" so I'm scared to take any steps, please respond and tell me what to do

Help please!!! Hd2 stuck !
HI to all!my phone was working great until i decided to try a new rom so I installed task29 (i had elegancia rom but i wanted to try another rom)and now im stuck on the htc logo screen that says 'stick together' in a red square.....i tried vol down+power button to go into bootloader but nothing happens, then i tried to hard reset but still nothing happens...i pushed the reset button and i did it all over again at least 3 times but still nothing... is there anything else i can try? (even on the hardware?)
my HD2 is a T-MOBILE usa with :
radio 2.08.50.08_2
2.08.HSPL
3.14.531.1 elegancia rom(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=651729)
i love my hd2 and i want it back...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
THANK YOU in advance!!!
sofialoca, task29 is not a thing to be "installed". It's a flash formatting. So you did everything correctly and deleted all from your phone except.. hmmm... stick together.
To flash other rom - just press Volume Down and push reset (under the battery cover) KEEPING VOLUME DOWN PRESSED. Keep it pressed until you are again in bootloader mode. Then connect USB and flash whatever you want.
thank you Andrew!I found the problem...
