Apparently its a known issue with the update. Here's a thread with people facing the problem...probably you can find a solution from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23045268

When I got that update back in February, my issue was that it would "cycle" both WiFi and cellular data connections every 5-10 minutes whenever WiFi was enabled - whether connected to an AP or not.
I tried to get help from AT&T and Motorola but they were both useless.
My solution was to unlock the bootloader and install CM7. I haven't looked back since!

As pre4speed already said, yes and yes. I'll just add that those were 2 of my concerns before making the move. But I've been tickled with the new rom.
Now I'm just pondering when I should start trying out CM9.

I've been playing with the different variants of cm9 and the biggest thing holding me back has been the video camera recording and finger unlock. Well I tried this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1580449 last night and it has a video recorder you can choose in aroma! All without the use of official moto drivers. Our developers are so awesome, we may just have the finer unlock before official release. Its worth trying to see which flavor ics you like.

I'm afraid I can't move until the fingerprint scanner works. It's the only sure fire way to keep the kids off my phone!

i searched in google.but it is available only for xperia mini only.
No sorry you can't calibrate sk17i touchscreen.
Maybe flash back stock rom like gingerbread and look if it works. For example you can see it here how to root Android 4 and there's how to flash it.
If it shouldn't work on stock rom, just unroot and maybe give phone to service.
Is your bootloader unlocked? Cause if it is unlocked by sony official don't give it to support, otherwise you must pay for their work, because you lost warranty!

The proximity sensor is not the problem that caused this problem...it's just the wrong or error touch calibration...maybe you can ask your nearest Sony service shop to recalibrate your phone touch screen, but they would demand you some money la...

Lollipop touchscreen problems

Does anybody know of a ROM where you don't have to do the five finger touch for an unresponsive screen?

What is the five finger touch thing you are talking about? i have run most of the lollipop roms and have not had an issue with the touchscreen being unresponsive. right now I am running the official cm12 nightlies with the aosp 777 kernel.
I have tried several and they all will become unresponsive. I read somewhere to touch the screen with 5 fingers and it unlocks the screen.

Its not just you. Ive had the same thing on AOSP based ROMs on two different G3s. You basically have to overload the touch sensor to make it begin responding. It hangs most frequently with calls.
I haven't seen it on CM12.
Hey you're not the only one. This happens with everybody. I don't know if anyone fixed it or not. I had to bump this topic because it happens on every single rom besides stock.

Anyone ever figure out how to fix this problem?
Nope was about to post about it
Hello,
I had this problem for months on each and every ROM I tried. 2 times out of 3, I had to remove the battery to restore the touchscreen.
However, I've read this five fingers touch trick about a week ago, and it changes everything : that WORKS !
Though it is not a true definitive solution, this workaround stopped me to ditch my phone for an iPhone... (naaahhhh )
I am glad it works. I am still on rooted stock KitKat, with the last Skydragon 4 kernel, so I have never had this problem.
