So here is my issue, I have recieved my repair vibrant back from samsung, due to bricking the phone, they replaced the motherboard, sent it back with 2.2 on it.
I have downgraded, rooted , and gingerbreaded it. But here is the question now none of my old roms work at all. I consistently get all type of force close;TWlauncher has stopped, LogsProvider, android.process media all says stopped unexpectedly, I have tried multiple roms still no success. Any suggestions.
Download a new rom, go into recovery, factory data reset, go to mounts and storage, wipe system, flash the new rom, reboot and don't touch your phone for fifteen minutes, reboot. Also try going into recovery, advanced, and fix permissions.
You noted "none of my old ROMs"
How about you just ODIN back to JFD, take my update.zip (B in the noob guide), and download a new ROM.
Check the MD5....
Flash, reboot, wait 10 minutes, reboot, enjoy.
You may be restoring system apps also, which would be a no-no if you are.

I used the 1 click toot method and thought I may return my fascinate. I decided against it and tried to root again with no luck. The root always has a bunch of FC's and eventually gets stuck. The generic ringer also starts with no way to stop it. Only a battery pull will restart the phone afterward. I have also already really installed the Samsung drivers for the phone. Anybody have any thoughts?
Did you go back to stock via odin...if not do so...and push root manually...instead of an app.
I did through Odin. Tried to push root manually last night. The phone froze right after the push and never recovered. Had to battery pull. I had all of the files pushed and got to the chmod and wait stage when it froze.
Hmm, maybe re push to stock in odin...make sure you are doing the correct files...though it sounds like you did...a second time around sometimes seems to hit the spot...droid used to give me the same issues with sbf.
Do a factory data reset after you redo the odin recovery. Make sure you are using the verizon file when pushing each flash and doing it in the proper order. Then manually root, dont use one click or an app.
Also remember to push the files one at a time and let the phone restart between each one booting back into download mode.

I've been working all weekend so I havent had too much time to deal with it. I wiped data and cache in the recovery menu initially and then the phone wouldn't allow me to sign back into my Google account. It kept telling me that I didn't have a data connection on 3g OR wifi. I finally did a factory reset through the privacy menu (not in recovery) and all seems to finally be working and completely stock. Now off to root and flash voodoo...
hey i had the same problem i made a post on how to fix it though.. go to the 0.00 internal storage issue mine was doing what u said plus more but i fixed it just follow the steps i set

Got it. Just for the record: Rooted, Flashed all three files with Odin to get "back to stock". Re-OTA'd. Somehow Busybox and Su were still there so I manually removed. Then changed my mind about returning the phone and attempted to root again with no luck. Re-flashed through Odin ok, then attempted root but errors prevented finish. Cleared data and wiped cache through recovery. Then my google account wouldn't resync b/c of network connection error, even though I had a working data connection the entire time. Tried booting into recovery and clear and wipe data again. No luck. Finally decided to use factory data reset from within settings. Now all clear, rooted again, re-synced my google account and all good. You guys rock. Thanks for the help.
For the past 6 hours i've been trying to load a custom flash on the vibrant, i tried simple honey and vibrace and always have same problem. The installation seems to go fine but after reboot I cannot get passed the lock screen as i get spammed with errors that need forced closing, the thing is i can see things working good in the back ground, from what i read online about the errors, it has something to do with fonts and templates.
I need help as im going crazy, this is stressful . Btw I flash through the recovery method and i downgrade to 2.1 every time i try to do it over. If needed ill redo another one just to take pics of the error messages. Thanks
edit:
heres a screen
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
reboot into recovery and wipe data/fact reset
wipe cache
i have tried that and nothing happens, still get the errors at the lock screen, can't drag the puzzle piece or the screen to unlock because of constant force close pop ups
factory reset go into Mounts and format system, then reflash the rom over itself, most of those roms require you be on a Gingerbread OS prior to installation.
Ok, thank you i got it to finally work with your help, was about to start pulling my hair out.
i had the same issues..
my remedy
Odin to stock JFD...
flash GB boot loaders
Flash SH via Odin
wait 15 mins
Flash SH 5.0 and you should be good to go...
Hey guys,
Not exactly what to make of this which is why I'm posting. Here's the run down. Started off running Scamble_v01.3[CM6.1.3] for quite some time with everything just fine. About 2 weeks back, decided it was finally time to step it up to a Gingerbread ROM, and went with Wolfbreak's. For the first week, everything ran perfectly fine. This past week, I started to have issues with it rebooting every time I would run an app. Finally, this morning, it rebooted, and then just as it would get to the lock screen, it would say formatting SD card and then reboot. It would continue to do this repeatedly. I tried reinstalling in xRecovery (mind you I did Factory Reset (Full wipe), Wipe Cache Partition, & Wipe Dalvik Cache as well).
With high hopes, I restarted it. Unfortunately, this didn't change anything. I took my microSD card out and put Wolfbreak's updated ROM on it which just came out in hopes that maybe the file was corrupted somehow, just to find that when I tried to install it through xRecovery it, gave me an error that it couldn't because the SD card was busy. Stated in his ROM even, it says that you need to backup the ROM just for this very reason, however the only backup I had was of Scamble_v01.3[CM6.1.3] since I found it pointless to try and back up a messed up ROM.
Not knowing what else to try, and knowing that that was the last stable state my x10 was in, I restored that. Once again, it did nothing as far as the boot loop. I've gotten to the point where I have used FlashTool to flash the Generic Gingerbread ROM which just as all the others, gets to the first screen (which asks me to choose a language) and then reboots.
I'm completely stuck here and can't think of what I may be missing here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe give flashtool a go, just flash one of the stock firmwares.
Already tried that. As stated before, it gets to the first screen which prompts me to chose a language, and then immediately reboots
Hey, everyone, I didn't see any specific posts on this topic, combined. My new GS4 had two problems.
1) I didn't switch the su binary to SuperSU before swapping back to the stock kernel, and I got the unlocked padlock at boot with "System Status Custom" in the Download screen
2) GPS never worked
I tried going back to the stock kernel, properly rooting, etc., but could not get my phone, no matter how many reboots, to go back to "normal" and not recognizing a custom binary. This was finally resolved by a factory reset through the Accounts menu in settings. The first reboot after the full wipe the phone does from recovery still showed the unlocked padlock, but upon one more reboot, the phone boots normally again. I have not yet attempted re-rooting.
The complete factory wipe also fixed, for whatever reason, my GPS problem.
So, if you are having either/both of these issues, I can tell you that, for me, a Factory Reset seems to have resolved them both.
I'm posting this hoping any others having these issues might fast-track themselves to a solution.
Hi,
I have some problems with my i9300 running newest nightly of CM11.
A few days ago my phone started to reboot without any reason. This kept on going 15-20 times. It had me insert my PIN, then during start-up the phone just rebooted.
After rebooting 15-20 times, it now runs for some hours when I only do standby and phoning.
I thought, maybe it's a problem with the Rom and I should just do a clean install. I have used the CM updater for quite a while updating the nightlies, so maybe it's not the worst idea installing a CM11 on a "fresh" system.
Okay, I fired up Titanium backup to backup my apps.. but Titanium could not find my license. Okay, I thought maybe it was a problem with Titanium, so I tried Helium. Helium also didn't find my license key. So, I think there is something wrong with the license handling. Nevertheless, I backuped up all my apps except two apps. Whenever Helium tried to back them up, the phone rebooted.
After backing up I booted into CWM recovery to do a factory reset / full wipe. But when I select factory reset, it says "Formatting /DATA", stays for 1-2 seconds and then the phone reboots. Have tried it some times, but nothing helps. I can't do a factory reset.
I used eMMC brickbug check, this went fine and reported no errors.
When I go to Settings/Storage, the phone reboots. When I go to Settings/Apps, the phone reboots. When I try to uninstall one of the two faulty apps (I think there is some more going wrong than just these two apps) using another uninstaller, the phone reboots.
I don't know what else I can do or where the error is. Any help would be greatly appreciated. tia!

Unplanned shut down (instant reboot) can corrupt partitions. This can also be a symptom of nand damage.
Try flashing a full stock firmware with Odin, if that fails then use the rescue firmware and pit -search in general forum.
Factory reset after flash and before first boot.
Yeah, it worked. Thanks a lot.
Flashed stock rom with Odin, then it was possible to do a factory reset. Afterwards just flashed CWM recover and CM11 and restored my backup..
Have lost some data because not all apps could be backed up, but nevertheless, it seems to work like out of the box
