[Q] Factory Reset Before Flashing With ODIN?? - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

There are alot of threads that encurage doing this before flashing, but i have a few questions about this..
Q1) What is the reason this is done??
Q2) Do i let the phone turn back on after??
When i flashed my SGA to gingerbread i did the factory reset and the phone restarted.. I then turned off the phone and flashed it.. After flashing i had a small issue with sending texts while connected to 3G or HSDPA (no problems receiving texts)..
Q3) Could this above be due to letting the phone restart??
Would really appreciate the help..

Sorry, not an answer any of your questions but your SMS issues sounds like this:

If you continually post these questions over and over and are still not sure, even given all the information people have given you, then I advise you not to get this phone; you seem more suited to get an iPhone.
Seriously, I'm not trying to be insulting. You've posted this EXACT same question three times now on three different threads. If you still are unsure about getting this phone after all the answers given to you by this point, then get a different phone.
No....you should not buy a gs2

I understand you want to be sure about your investment on a new device. Unfortunately I will not allow you spamming the boards with the same questions, specially when all the questions can be easily found in XDA or using Google. If your having a hard time with English then use a browser that can translate for you. Google chrome has a extension that allows this for an example. Thread locked

You can software update your S3 as long as you have stock recovery. But you will lose root. You could update then reroot.

Help
Hello, I'm new to XDA and saw this topic and have a question. I have a rooted GS3 and am runing 4.1.2 and I'm now being asked to update to kitkat. If I agree will I brick my phone or will I just lose my root?

I wanna know the same thing.. woke up to it this morning. Great question.
No one is asking you to update to kitkat, that version is not released by Samsung for the S3.
Only way to update if you are rooted is flashing or kies.
It's all in the general forum, sticky threads, go read and learn.

so instead of giving the answer or assisting, you waste just as much time explaining to us the search feature.. obviously he wouldn't ask if he knew what to do. get off your high horse.. jesus. I woke up with this morning with my phone asking me if i wanted to update to 4.3... so technically it is asking you to do something.. and if you read the question correctly he asked what would happen to his phone not how to go about updating..
You both need to read and learn instead of asking for an easy answer, which won't help you if you brick it through ignorance. You need to follow xda rules, search before posting.

Lookalike stock phone

Hi everybody,
I already searched but don‘t find anything.
What I wanna know is :
It is possible to make the phone lookalike(for normal user) a stock one?
For the day I wana sell it or trade
I already know I can do restore a nandroid backup, and may be “unroot“ the phone.
But I wanna know the other step to do to make it lookalike, like putting back the stock recovery.
Sorry for my not perfect english and if its already answered or anything else.
Feel free to change the title and sentence for a more clearly one
Thanks in advance and have a good day (or night)

Sorry but I not found stock recovery lol
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda app-developers app
Just use kdz and flash the lg.kdz into the phone. This way everything resets to stock(yes including recovery)
Sent from my LG-P690 using xda premium
And read everything about kdz before using it.. incomplete knowledge may lead to phone bricking.
Its what I always do before doing anything, because I wanna know what to do if a step going wrong without the need of internet.
Thanks you very much

U cant post in dwv forum till u reach a set amount of posts (to prevent just this kind of thing). Had u posted this in a dev forum u would've got flamed for it most likely as it isnt dev related at all. As for ur problem it looks like something is being downloaded through media possibly (dumno what though).

I too help on a forum where some might say simplistic questions are asked. I just grin and bare it. I've spent 3 days (not 24 hrs per day of course), and then thought this site might provide the answer. Thanks for your answer, I'm sure I'll work it out soon. Just a wonder, if you so dislike answering simple questions why do you bother?
Try reading my signature, it's aimed directly at you. You can't be bothered to help yourself, gave no information but expect someone to hand you the exact answer.
To be exact, your question is not simple so you got the most basic answer which will actually solve your problem -if you don't like it then you can probably work out what to do.
