well I know the guides are there for root, cwm, and boot unlocker i just had a question on the order these things need to be done.
So i need to do this in order correct?:
1) Root
2) Bootstrap Recovery
3) Unlock Bootloader
4) Install CWM
-Now can i re-lock the bootloader after i get CWM installed or do i need to keep it unlocked for that.
-Do i need to uninstall Bootstrap Recovery for CWM?
The help would be appreciated.
Post this **** in general.

i tried in the general but got no response :/
You can actually go straight to Unlocking it... no need to root. Unlock, root, and then install ClockworkMod Recovery. I just unlocked mine and now I need to root it and flash the CWM.
What CWM are you talking about is it the bootstrap?

Bootstrapping ClockworkMod Recovery is what you do if you DON'T unlock. The easiest (and safest) is to unlock and then flash ClockworkMod Recovery as a recovery image. You need to unlock to use ClockworkMod Recovery because unlocking lets you use custom kernels.
Thanks man!

As far as I know, you do not have the recovery installed. Go to the right thread and post this. Tenfar's thread.
Sent from rooted Atrix on 2.3.4 with unlocked bootloader using xda premium app.
Same here. I installed CMW mod for Atrix already
"fastboot .... recovery... recovery.img"
But finally after Reboot, click "-" Volume and select Android Recovery, it navigated to triangle only.
Please help!

I have no idea where is this -- install_recovery.sh in /system/etc/. Sorry for being such a noob.
I would try flashing again. I flashed it via moto-fastboot and have had no problems.
[edit] not that it needs to be said, but those of you having problems ARE unlocked right? according to tenfars thread title this mod is only compatible with unlocked at&t bootloader.
Yes, unlocked displays in boot screen. But i lost sideload (install apk from unknown source) after unlocked. Is it the reason?

This shouldnt affect it. To my knowledge that only affects loading of 3rd party apks once booted into android, whereas the cwm recovery is flashed and executed before any operating system ever boots. I unlocked my phone, and immediately flashed the new cwm afterwards without issue, so again, i doubt this is the problem.

I'm fairly certain, but not 100%, that you must remain unlocked to make use of CWM. If you relock, you're back to having to use Bootstrap Recovery.

Bump* I'm currently on unlocked hboot 1.5 I don't care which recovery to flash. I've been trying to flash team win VIA rebooting the phone and install manually but it keeps saying that "main version is older" I've tried quite a few files from searching over Google
If you unlocked your phone then the folder you needed to root has the recovery in it. CWM*.Img

Which folder
You could download rom manager and flash it with that.
We're comin from a pure power source.
I just flashed it via fastboot. It worked.
I use the HTC offical method to update hboot to 1.02 and unlocked.
And now my device only get temp root. I want to flash cwm to install rom.
But when I flash zip with original recovery,it says "failed to verify whole-file signature"(I use the cwm original file)
Also, how to S-OFF my Legend? Please help me! Thanks
There is no need to S-OFF as an unlocked boot loader is pretty much the same thing. In regards to CWM, look for the thread in the Dev section with the recoveries and follow the S-OFF method to apply CWM.

If you are rooted already with a stock recovery, skip to the second half of the next paragraph.
What you want to do is boot twrp instead of flashing it at first. You do this by using the command "fastboot boot recovery.img" where as "recovery.img" is the name you have assigned to your twrp recovery image. Once you have booted into twrp, reboot system. You will be prompted to root the device (assuming you are not already rooted), select yes. Now that you are rooted, download this app. In the app settings change the backup format to .img, and then backup your recovery. Now you will have a copy of your stock recovery. Now that you have that, go back and flash twrp using the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", whereas "recovery.img" refers to whatever you have named your twrp recovery image.
all of this is assuming that you have adb setup on your computer, and a good working knowledge of how to use it.
What if I'm already rooted with twrp recovery, is it still possible?

You still have stock recovery? If so, it sounded like you did fastboot boot TWRP (instead of fastboot flash TWRP).
In which case, you can just then use TWRP to backup the recovery partition. You don't need a seperate app or root to do this.
I flashed twrp using fastboot flash recovery twrp but I'm still using the stock rom, but since I flashed twrp that means my stock recovery img is gone right?

Yes, you can only have one recovery at a time. TWRP custom recovery overwrote the stock recovery. You can't back up what isn't there anymore.
But you can always return to stock by RUU, if needed.
