Hello everyone,
[Description]
What is Bravia Engine? Learn here!
I am providing the *.zip file which installs the BRAVIA ENGINE base on zdzihu's topic here.
To tell the truth, there are no big changes... but it works ...

Based on RealJTG's image:
This is the proof that this works. I have edited a little the 2 screenshots (to see the difference in PC) to show you that it does work, there are changes in the images. Do not see if the images are clear, just that there are differences between them. If you see them from your phone, the Bravia Engine shows the image better.
(screenshot taken with ShootMe.apk inside the image Gallery.apk)
[Roms]
This is only for GingerDX v14. When you install the *.zip, the feature will automatically be enabled. If you want to install this in an other rom, take a look at this post...
This is available for 2.3.3 ROMs only! (not tested but zdzihu says so)
[Updates]
I will also try to make a setting for it too.
[Installation]
1. Download the z_bravia_MOD-GreatApo-X8_v01-ENABLE.zip
Before going to the next step, mind that the built.prop will change to default (GingerDX v14) after the installation.
2. Install it with xRecovery
3. Reboot to GingerDX
If you want to thank somebody, then thank zdzihu for his excellent work.
I am not responsible for anything you may do to you phone.
I will try and see wat has been improve.
On x10 thread it was confirmed as joke.
Should we put something in build.prop as well?
Sent with love!
I see this improvement But not much improvement
Code:
Enhanced contrast. Richer colours. Less image noise
running good in GX..thanks bro..
im still using racht's Floyo .30, if any one is also using Floyo .30 and installs this let me know if it works. I might try it out myself though
works in GC 7.4 too but with no menu button
I can see a really big improvement on the color !
ty
Nice, its works only with viewers or no?
This only works for photos as of now right?
I install this .zip but i don't have This setting in display settings. What can i do wrong? how to repair them?

Personally, i do not believe it's a joke. The build.prop is already included in the *.zip (what's why it's for GingerDX v14)

Ok, there is a build.prop file in /system/bin but there's no build.prop file in /system as well. I thought you need to have build.prop in BOTH locations? Otherwise the system will revert to the old build.prop...

I do not know about other ROMs but GingerDX change the system/bin/build.prop with system/build.prop when booting (you can find the script in the bin folder). That's why my *.zip changes directly the system/bin/build.prop and when you reboot to your ROM, the changed system/bin/build.prop replace the system/bin/build.prop... easy
Try to find any details on this picture. I can do this on my LED monitor, but on phone screen there are only barely visible differences.
isnt this hardware specific too? i mean, to see the difference u probably need higher resolution or better quality screen??? i dont think we can compare x8's screen with xperia play!

are you sure i can just use Root Explorer to replace the old framework?
won't the screen go black then you won't be able to set permissions properly?
i've done the ADB route before, but using Root explorer is so much easier.
tho i haven't tried it when replacing system files...
can you confirm just using Root Explorer for this?

well what i did was: went to system/framework and edited the framework-res permissions .. just checked all of them
then i copied the file from here into my sdcard, moved it using root explorer to system/framework, and it tells u "do u want to replace" click yes/ok and it will replace and u should click on/off button and it will reboot! if u get "u do not have permisions" just check "remount R/o or Remount r/w" then move it, it should work.
i went the ADB route again...
safer for me...and here are my screenshots!
sad that you wont be developing it anymore tho...
but thanks for this!

I've spend hours attempting this but... the XML is compiled if I extract stuff with NinjaMorph. So I thought of making the background on the content part white like in the Gingerbread theme... but then I the APKManager gave me a lot of errors during the compilation. Then I tried the APKTools method... and it was too complicated for me to continue. So unfortunately I'm too incompetent to make this theme work for my phone
The black text on dark background is a huge usability block. I don't really mind that the theme isn't completely finished, but if only that notification part could be fixed I will be able to use this theme (which matches the rest of the theme of my phone).
I think the corresponding files are status_bar_item_app_background_normal.9.png and/or status_bar_item_background_normal.9.png.
If anyone is able to recompile this apk with the stock version of those pngs (or the Gingerbread one), it would be so awesome.
Hi! This theme is amazing but have a x10 mini. Can you make some changes in the framework to work on my phone? Thanks
stupid question, maybe. but i wanne know, wich widget do u use for the weather and wich launcher u have ;>

He sold his phone and not gonna update this theme.
is this theme for 2.0.2.A.0.24 or 2.1.1.A.0.6?
I hope somone will fix the thing with the statusbar.. I will check a guide on how to edit 9.png and check..

Install this theme via xRecovery:

1. Download the update.zip file: UPDATE.ZIP
2. Do not extract it, copy the update.zip file to the sdcard
3. Reboot your device into Recovery Mode
4. Go to install custom zip option
5. Click, Yes - Install /sdcard/update.zip, wait a little
6. Reboot your device and Enjoy
If you have any problems with any of the apks then re-install them manually.
The Root Explorer method: HERE

Great theme as always Manny.
Just one thing. I dont have the same font as in the screenshots.
Maybe I done something wrong when I installed it.
Used xrecovery with update.zip and then manually replaced the other
files for 2.0.2.A.0.24.
Maybe you can post the fonts too.
I'm really looking forward to the Ultimate theme too
Thank you
well, as much as I want to share them, i cant unfortunately, its paid for font you see.. but ill try to find something similar and attach it to the post
I see. The theme looks great even without the fonts in the screenshots.
And if you post some similar font it would be great and I thank you in advance.
Any progress on the "Ultimate" theme?
Cheers

Great Job Manny! You should take a look at the "mobile data disabled" icon. Other than that it is perfect. You have change the "blink" sounds, too, right?
EDIT: Scratch that. First of all, I don't think any sounds are included in framework apk (how did I think that?) and secondly, I flashed a new rom yesterday and didn't change the default notification. Nah, a lof of hours over the phone cause these side effects

- the font u used. does it have the same problems like the one used in the xtreme theme? i mean theses blocks if certain "letters" are not know . if no, where can i buy it
- and is it possible to colour the notification bar in blue? would look so great
Can somebody sand me a link becaouse i cant download it in my country

If i don't work any chance you will updat it for this FW?
I have .24 And i have replaced the three files but it is buggy .. Tell me if im doing wrong
Hi Manny, I' ve been using the Elegant theme since it's launch, it rocks!
It is there any chance your could mess up quickly with the blue items in the theme to make them red, so that they match with this wallpaper?
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12469927/wallpaper-755064 more red.png
A red version of Elegant theme, if you mind. Can it be done?
Thanks!

Rom Features:
Fixed some bugs
+ bug fix color fix
Bootanimation Changed
Added Overclocking already in the system [For select you favorite frequenze download NOFrillis CPU on the market (is free ) ]
Improved multi-touch
Added Theme CyanBread.apk on theme chooser
And more..
Requirements:
+ latest baseband version xxx15
+ xrecovery
+ CWM recovery (since v2.6.xxx and above)
Instruction
+ it is important to backup your latest Rom
+ be carefull to select the recovery for the update.zip
+ in recovery select "install custom zip", or you can rename it first to "update.zip" then select "install update.zip from SD Card"
+ if you came from CM7, the update zip would not remove your data partition, its only removed cache and dalvik-cache.

I tried the flash player and it installed but wouldn't work with iPlayer and a couple of other sites. I'm using FroyoBread v021b so I'm guessing the framework is very similar and if it works with this it should work with that?
Well to me it seems that the entire ROM is just froyobread with some more themes
froyobread repackaged, dx kick off mate lol
Everyone's right mate.. this is froyobread v21 with the color patch and different theme/bootanimation.. things we can all add by ourselves.
I'm sorry if it sounds mean but it's pretty much pointless..
The only thing i can ask is WHY?
I'll just go through what I've done regarding this 'ROM'
1. Downloaded the 'ROM' & '100% working flash player'
2. Installed both of the above
3. Realized there is in fact NO real differences between this and Froyobread v021b other than a couple of themes installed, the fact that you had the brain power to install the over-clocking module (which requires no more effort than pushing it to "system/lib/modules" ) installed the color fix update, changed the boot animation and called it your own.
4. uninstalled the 'ROM' deleted it from my sd card and removed all references of it from my pc out of shame (yes i know i have nothing to show in the line of ROM development, but this is simply because i am still working on building my own from scratch)
5. re-installed Froyobread v021b

Changes:
1. Changed the default language to English.(This rom has one of the best English language conversions..I didnt find any chinese characters anywhere till now..)
2. Added a few build.prop tweaks:
a. increased max heap size to 256
b. 3g tweaks(faster 3g..mine works fine..almost 200kBps download speed)
c. Visual performance is better
d. Lagging has reduced considerably.
e. .......and many more... All the tweaks that I found useful found on androidforums.com and xda itself..

Issues:
The fonts in the Themes is not working, although Themes are getting applied completely now, I mean, if the mods exist in the theme, they're getting applied everywhere..
I will take a look into the fonts problem now..
Everything else is the same..
My Changes:
Go to Led settings.. I'v added new colors and also some new frequencies for LED flashing..
Also increased the LED brightness.. so the colors look really good!!
Attention!! There was an issue of fonts not working in this rom while applying themes..
If you face the same problem, replace ThemeManager, apk in system/app with this..

It looks so:crying:
However
yes it does work on HDPI as long as the bootanimation resolution is smaller than the screen resolution
Tried it on Xperia Arc S, Sola, P, U, Neo V, Neo L, Mini Pro
In the new bootanimations it doesn't require you to make pictures that perfectly fit the screen
instead it takes the picture and align it in the middle (Vertically & Horizontally) and fills every thing else in black
so the bootanimation looks big on MDPI screen, Small on HDPI Screens, Tiny on XHDPI and so on :highfive:
:silly:

Thanks a lot
Will add it to OP:good:
I haven't yet flashed the bootanimation, I was wondering if there is a way for me to backup the old one in case I decide I want to revert back to the CM one?
EDIT: I figured out how to backup the original one. I couldn't flash the zip, it gave me a status 6 error (tried redownloading the zip but it didn't help). After extracting bootanimation.zip I manually copied it to system/media and it's working like a charm.
