The stats for cyanogenmod located at http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/ currently show 1020 people using the Kang Mod. It is listed in the stats as cooper.
Just imagine what the total would be if everyone using BehradGH version switched to the Kang version or if everyone switched from the Kang to BehradGH version but in essence we were using just ONE VERSION.
I would guess that we would have approximately 1500 or so people using the mod and this would put us very high in the list of users - either official or unofficial - the upshot of this is that Cyanogenmod developers will become aware of what we already know - that the Galaxy Ace has a large user base.
Maybe more developers will then allocate more of their precious time to official develop the mod.
By having 2 versions which are so closely similar to each is damaging our cause of an official CM7 mod, because it does not show a true representation of the people that want CM7.
Just an observation!
I think both version show up as the same scince the kernal change.

if someone using BehradGH would check under settings>cyanogenmod settings>system>anonymus system data and check the device there we could be sure

So I think everyone using cm7 should do this so that we may know the total no. of users.
By default it is enabled in the BehradGH cyanoAce version..

Obviously
(i prefer Froyo, but when official GB is out, will update my rom because no one will still use froyo)
Performance obviously I prefer 2.3. Now I have void.forever and is awesome performance
But, because of is not an official Gingerbread, still having a little issues and bugs.
And in apperance, I prefer froyo. Menus and things were clearer, more intuitive.
Ciaox created this thread to check whether members are using his rom lol
Btw ; I tested ur rom, and within few hours I am back to Gingerbread !! I love gb with great performance and stable battery. What else do we need ? Bugs are born to happen
Sent from my LG-P500 using Tapatalk
I am waiting GB only for an improved text editing.
Gingerbread has better performance than froyo and the awesome animation and looks of gingerbread is a plus.
I didn't I only wanted to know other people's choice

Hey guys is there any gaming improvement frm froyo to gb?
Depands On the requrements like if i need battery backup then i will chose 2.2.2 and if performance or speed then sure cm7
I like performance, dont mind a little less battery life.
So its cm7 2.3.4 for me
My fav is GB 2.3 - great speed, faster 3D.

I'm laughin' at that
opinion
I've seen GB has more goodies for the developer end like better OpenGL support and the like. For end users Froyo is no less awesome
Is it CM7?
CM7 is a work in progress!
It is not 100% yet
I would say most people have Com Rom 2.1 installed as their "daily driver"

I would have to agree.
In terms of ranking I would say
1. Ultimate Kangbang (comm rom 2.x)
2. Evil Fascination
3. Cyanogen Mod 7 (test build 1 - 7)
There is a lot of popularity to CM7 with many of the folks waiting for a stable fully functioning build so it could fairly quickly shift the tides.
I don't get why MIUI isn't that popular here. It looks so amazing and a stable version is comin really soon. Seems like everyone prefers cm7 over miui here

Not according to the CM7 vs MIUI thread.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
For 100% everything working comRom is the way to go at the moment. Cm7 is amazing though if you can live without mms. I would say cm7 and miui are neck and neck at the time being. Cm7 gets updated and miui quickly follows suit, usually on a friday. Personal preference really, try them all .
THREAD RULES: We DO NOT ask for ETA or release dates in this thread!
So it seems like everybody goes crazy when it comes to the porting of CM7. But why?
I got my hands on a SGS2 with CM7 installed. Tried it, experienced it a little. From what I experienced the CM7 wasnt something that special. I asked the owner of the phone what he though of the ROM. To my surprise he said "it's just a ROM". He also mentioned that the stock ROM was smoother.
So now I'm wondering, why all the fuzz? What are you expecting from CM7? What makes it so special and so popular?
I'm pretty sure that a lot of people who craves for the porting of CM7 has no clue of this.
(off topic: tbh, i'd rather prefer MIUI.)
edit: for the interface
My sister's Backflip has CyanogenMod 7 installed with 2.3.3 (Not even Froyo is released in Asia-Pacific regions) , it allows her to have OC/UV kernels from 600Mhz to 748Mhz . Her phone is wayyyyy less laggier than stock .(the difference is obviously obvious)
I'm not really good on those areas but arent you able to do that using SetCPU?

he said using oc/uv.. his sister device only support 600mhz by default, but because she uses custom oc/uv kernel, she can achieve 748mhz with help of setcpu. it depends on clock stepping that were supported by kernel, not by setcpu. setcpu only help to configure those clock stepping
Oh, never knew about that. From my use of SGA 800mhz is doing alright.
And as I mentioned, not really good at those areas so I didnt even know that "oc/uv" was overclock and undervolt xD
Some bugs fixed are gonna be fixed in CM. Camera quality should be bit better. Theme engine is built into ROM, so there will be much more themes for SGA. Im also excited about haptic feedback (not sure about this one).
And much more...
What i wish most for, is fix for SoD...

I'm not really excited for cyanogenmod, but for MIUI. I want it so bad!
MiUi is cyanogen based, if I'm not wrong.
First off I'm sure in cm there will be accurate battery reporting. No ****ty jumps in percentage.
Second, if CM is under way I believe developers will include uv, through kernels or modules. Overclocking though, may not be necessary.
Other than that the rom has so many tweaks. Over time and development CM will make our original firmware outmoded because it WILL get smoother.

Speed, stability, power, eyecandy, etc, etc.
But most of all; bugfixes and much more stability compared to stock firmware, as it is said that CM7 is build from the ground up so in my eyes it won't or even can't have the flaws that stock has.
Hey, it's only my opinion.
i think it`s only way to forget about SODs
Cyanogen is popular for a few reasons. It incoporates most worthwhile mods and runs normaly as well if not better than stock. Plus for me on a personal view it will help to get miui for sga.

hahaha..if you want to know..CM is a special ROM I guess, more unlock option on kernel than stock ROM, so I can say CM is a very customizing ROM.
for a prove, u can use an app called Tasker, on that app u can get more customized settings if u using CM.
CMIIW. sorry bad english
Hi,
[Off-topic] I'm newbie into Android stuff and XDA (installed my first custom ROM a week ago), but I have been intensely following General and Development sessions recently.
Following the {X10}[DEVELOPMENT] - CM7.1.0 - FXP028 IN PROGRESS - FreeXperia Project topic, I see ppl still reporting issues and bugs. Seems to me there are still several adjustments to be done until a actually ready ROM comes out (Am I wrong, or been unfair with dev team?)
On the other hand, official CM7 (which I guess requires excellency on quality/performance/stability/functionality) was already announced.
So my doubt is: what to expect with this? Shall we expect a fully functional and stable Official CM ROM? If affirmative, how this affect release date?
Being less specific: How this whole development proccess starts from now?
Sorry for bad english.
i'm also interested on this. looking forward for a real cm7 rom

Bear in mind that the goal of the FXP project is to write sources for the X10 so that we can have our own CM roms.
Also, number one rule of CM: Do not ask for ETAs.

Look for other ROMs which are more stable... if you find FXP is unstable and not your cup of tea then download Xperia X10s ROM or feralab ROM or something else which is stable... BTW you talking about CM7.2 or CM9..?
CM ROMs take time to become stable because drivers and other things have to be written from scratch as those are sony's properties (IP) and Sony don't provide them to developers.... read up on things before you shoot questions

Hey forum,
I would like to know what is the best build for my galaxy ace of CyanogenMod.
I downloaded this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360889, but the Market has a huge fault when downloading. So I can't download anything.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a Fully working CM7 build?
Officail is the only build by lots of bugs rather try cm7.2 by frozen ace team awesome

Have a read up on all the ones available as they all have bugs. Most noticably on the unofficial ones is the battery drain. Its difficult to answer whats the best as it depends on what kind of a features are important to you.
Read each thread paying particular attention to the bugs/things not working.
When you feel you informed enough make a choice, flash one and see how it goes.
(alternatively, flash each one and decide that way.
