Read in the "Samsung galaxy ace s5830" thread in this section that moving down will cause the phone to not boot even though Odin flashes is successfully.

And all working fine to me.
Just follow the instructions in here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12874680&postcount=1
I think its good enough proof to you(now I must flash back to 2.3.4 )!
If I helped dont forget to push the T...!

Basically their are two types of roms, one is single package and other is multi package. if your downgrading from one version to another ie: froyo to GB then u need to have a Multi Package rom to flash back as this rom wil have the seperate phone boot and modem files.
if your just upgrading to the next upgrade of the samefirmware then u just use the single package rom and flash it wit odin
How do I know if my rom and the rom I want to flash is single or a multipackage rom?
Sorry to be so ignorant about this, when I got my old phone the x10 mini pro a custom recovery was done so everything was simpler.

Just download it and you see, dose there is several files inside .rar(boot, csc, modem and so on) or you have one .tar file inside!
CHEERS!
Okay, so if I flash a multi-package rom to a single .tar-containing package what should I do/what will happen?
Damn I guess this requires a separate tutorial thread for users who're unfamiliar with Samsung firmwares.

Jep you right, it may need a new thread. I dont flashed it by my self(I mean multi package to single one or in revers order). I flashed ONLY deodex to multi and revers. SORRY!

That theme is for 2.3.3, you are no 2.3.4 and hence the error.
You need to boot to download mode and flash an appropriate firmware.
ok could you please show me how like step1,step2 etc because i really need my phone but now its useless to me unless i can get it to work.

Right here man don't panic. Unless you try unlocking your phone no brick is has no solutions
thank you so f***ing much man i was s***ing bricks at that moment(i value and care about my things a lot) but what i did is use ODIN to put Gingerbread 2.3.4 back into my phone and now its ok........so where can i find themes that will work on my gingerbread 2.3.4???

Be sure to check the theme for descriptions as to what firmware it is for. For example KPH will be 2.3.4 and you'll be safe to flash the theme for it. CODEROM too is 2.3.4, so themes compatible/made for it will be compatible with yours.
DO REMEMBER TO DEODEX. I don't know if odexed firmware can be themed, but I have a feeling it will. But just in case the opposite is true, deodex just in case.
so if i see [KPH][THEME] it should work on my gingerbread 2.3.4??? but i must deodex just to be sure it properly works??
Is it possible to download back the old stock rom through ODIN and reinstall it on my ace? Or can I install it with CMW too from the SD card? Or is there some deleting and complexity involved in this backwards process?
Sure, you can instal any stock rom on your phone. Just have to have the firmware files. I just flashed back stock 2.3.4 after 7.1 CM BehradGH. And istaled BehradGH again I don't think u could instal any stock rom via CWM. Specialy the lower version u have.

Lmao nah bro it failed. I tried flashing it through ODIN and installing the stock 2.3.5 again and the phone was stuck in an endless boot. I got scared as hell and reflashed back to CM 7.1. I have no idea what happened though but everything is working fine. I guess I'll be sticking to CM7.
The reason I wanted to go back was because Heywire (txting app) was the only thing that stopped working after I flashed. I depend a lot on texting and I was thinking it'd go back if I went back to stock. I guess I'll have to try and find another alternative :/
Phone feels like a super phone though. LONG LIVE CM7!
Well, I'm not a developer or advenced user so I can't tell u the reason why you phone stuck in on boot. Today i was broke my CM7.1 Behrad and i could only go to download mode so i flash official 2.3.4 KPH and it's worked. Next i instaled CWM and BehradGH' rom again. Before useing BehradGH's rom i had Grif's KANG rom and after that i flash stock 2.3.4 to instal another CM7.1. It wasn't first time so I'm sure of that what i write here
Haha. I'm guessing we were both pretty lucky then. The first thing I did was to make sure I could boot into recovery. Then I reflashed CM7 from there. I'm still curious about the boot loop thing... I hope someone answers.
You need to flash a full package to not have a bootloop.

If u wer on cm7, then u should flash a full package bcoz cm7 converts ur system from rfs to ext. So wen u flash a full package, ur system is converted back to rfs.

You need to download something called a 5 file package, extract and then in Odin you deselect 'one package'. Generally for stock ROMs you select
OPS - cooper.ops
BOOT - APBOOT.......tar.md5
PHONE - MODEM......tar.md5
PDA - CODE......tar.md5
CSC - CSC.......tar.md5

Oooohh that. I remember doing that once before when I was flashing stock roms on my ace. Can you provide a link to these 5 file downloads? Thanks *clicks*
It's not 5 downloads.
Sammobile.com, find the KPH file. I know it's confirmed to be a full package.
It seems samfirmware.com is not updated with latest firmwares. So u can try sammobile.com which is updated.

dunno about now, but a long time back when i was flashing stock KPN, samfirmware.com had a one file KPN, so i flashed a 5 file KPE and then the KPN...
I think KPN is supposed to be better than KPH which was a leaked ROM.

Hey!
I think you was flashed the ONE package file, but jeah, you need MULTI package file for ODIN, flash from CM to STOCK ROM.
Just read the FLASHING TUT. before flashing!
CHEERS!
To back to stock rom i always use Odin Didn't said i do this by recovery. And always use multi-file pack. Never "one package" - some1 said it is unstable... So go to Download Mode and flash ur Ace by useing Odin and multi-file rom (OPS, PDA, BOOT, PHONE, CSC)

Unstable how? I've always used one packages for flashing stock roms and they've worked perfectly. Unless you're talking about the performance of the rom?

It's not unstable. You will only get boot problems flashing across android versions using one package files.
Hi there!
Yes yes I am a newbie.. my phone is running on CM7 Gingerbread. My problem is that I can not get a phone reception, I can't make calls or send sms, so obviously I can't receive them either. Also whenever I open apps like player pro for example a notification pops up saying force close or wait and it just hangs there. Please could you kind tech savvy people help a girl out.. what do I need to do to try and fix this??
Try wiping data/cache and partition on recovery..

Yes this was the first thing I tried. Unfortunately no success.
Do this again with formatting /system then flash ROM again.
Haha I am totally at a loss as to what you are asking me to try.. my friend flashed the phone for me and can't get him to do it again. It's only my phone signal and player pro that seems to be not working are you sure I need to flash my phone again?
I got also the problem before..and the only thing that helps me is reflash..
Was yr ph on 2.2 or 2.3 b4 u flash cm7?
My phone was using 2.2 (Froyo) before I flashed it the first time.. now gonna try this rom - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324628 - need step by step instructions on how to do this, anyone?

Stock 2.3 means Gingerbread roms like 2.3.3 or 2.3.4. U will find d stock roms on samfirmware.com or sammobile.com. As u said u r using on cm7, u will have to flash a full package rom instead of one package. A full package means it should have 4 files in d .zip file.

Alright... Here's the scoop one more time see if i can make some progress outta this before i throw it out the door lol
Anyways. So Yesterday I went to flash a new Rom on my phone. And wiped everything i was suppose to. But when i went to wipe or whatever the Dekilv or whatever its called it said it couldn't find the file or whatever.. (kinda ignored it) So anyways i rebooted it and it got stuck on the lg.. So took out the battery and put it back in and booted it up into clockwork.. did a factory reset figured i wasn't gonna mess with this anymore b/c im newb lol well.. now when it restarted it goes into the lg screen then
(this is not clockwork btw its the android system recovery)
android system recovery
Formatting data
Formatting cache
Formatting
rebooting....
Then back to the lg screen and that's all it does..
Cannot get into CLOCKWORK or even emergency mode.. Any ideas before i throw it out the door
Also I have done the LGMDP and KDZ and i can't get it to see the phone.... am i missing somthing?
Before that, you install rom manager and install clockworkmod?
Edit: can you go download mode? Follow the kdz flash properly and slowly.

Use LGDMP with lg driver (you will later disable that driver[lg virtuial modem] after lgdmp sees phone but before you flash)leaving the lgdmp enabled! Wiping dalvik cashe is important its under ADVANCED menu..next time... new roms can take up to 10 mins to flash (be paitent)...Emergency mode=Pull & install batt\push BACK\VOL UP\POWER same time..good luck
