Ok, I know we just got root and recovery for this phone, but I'm kinda liking the way the photon 4G is looking. My question is, is there any way at the moment to return my 3VO to stock, so I can return it? I currently have 9 days to return my phone to sprint for a exchange...

After two weeks with this phone, im sad to say this was a let down on htc's part. I have never a had an htc phone have so many issues. For me the camera crashing so often that i misser ahots of my daughter this weekend, and that was using the normal 2d camera. Looks like im going to be checking the photon or just going to the nexus 4g

ive never had a problem returning a phone that was rooted.. the people at my local store are all idiots and dont pay attention.. But then again i am in detroit..
Fyi I've had the 3vo and now own the photon. Ill give some comparisons.
The phone feels good in hand and feels very good compared to 3vo. Speaker onphoton blows evo away. Games run super smooth on photon. For example n64oid goldeneye on 3vo lag made it unplayable, the photon had little lag but i was able to finish the first level no problem. Also i liked that u can hook up wiimote right out the box instead of waitng for root. As for video camera photon had 0 slutter while the 3vo had too much for my taste. Still pictures were about even even though its an 8mp camera.
As for ui. Sense is way better imo and blur is meh. Also the photon lags a little, but i installed launcher pro and now its good. Oh yea i forgot to mention reception, the main reason why i returned the 3vo! Photon is top notch in that department. Reception was excellent and call quality was great. With the 3vo i had terrible reception.

Photon will have much less dev support & will probably be a long time before it's unlocked. Motorola said they were going to start unlocking the bootloaders, but it has not started yet. The Photon is locked. I have to admit it does have nice specs and looks good too, but I personally will stick with my Evo 3D.

I don't understand your frustration with someone that refers to a PHONE as "3VO"? To tickle your fancy I'll refer to it as the "Shooter", or how about the "3D EVO", note the reversal of EVO and 3D. Sorry for being an a**, but come on, who really cares about a nickname. Go flame another thread. And that "sorry" is sincere, so don't reply, it'll just make you look like a troll.

Trust me, im no troll. Why post about returning it? Theres already 30,000 threads about everyone *****ing over the phone. The photon will not see as much Dev activity like the 3D will. Trust me on that one. Look at how strong the 4G is going. Imagine the "3VO"

Ok, thank you, and yes I hit the thanks button. Your second post had something that actually is pertaining to my original post. Honestly, I chose to stick with the 3VO anyway.
I'd just suck up the "3VO" and get used to it, it isn't going anywhere.
Oh, by the way, I don't refer to it as "three-vo", it just looks cooler (opinion), and I find it faster than typing "EVO 3D"
As an example.
My sms Sig is "Sent From My HTC EVO 3D"
I try to go there instead of the 14 n John r store they always trying to keep your phone for an hour just to do all if of nothing

Anytime yall. If my girlfriend knew i was doing nothing productive and waiting till 11pm for when she goes to bed to be flashing roms, kernals, and all the fun stuff she would beat me with my phone.
So when I upgraded to my 3Devo ok launch day I got my full $150 off, and I noticed the next day my account still said eligible for $150 off new phone. Figured it was just playing catch up, but today I looked and its still there! I guess come september I will be dual wielding my 3vo and my GS2

+1. You should use your upgrade on a phone that isn't slight better (or worse) than the EVO 3D. I know I would wait for the prime or possibly the quadcore phones of next year , if that's the way android is going lol. But you can do whatever you want with your upgrade.

I was a brand new customer in Feb. I got the white og evo. First time I logged in it told me I was upgrade eligible.
I figured they would catch it but they never did. When the 3d came out I figured id better snatch it up just in case they did eventually figure it out.
I wanted to try to hold off for the nexus prime, but figured I better jump on the 3d rather than possibly nothing. Then I sold my og on Ebay for 235 since it was rooted. Took my extra cash and got an otter box.
The guy @ my sprint store said he sees people who got lucky like that more often than you'd think.

I love my 3d and it is speedy and all. But to be honest, if i were upgrading now i would get something else. There are better phones out now as tech moves so quickly. Not a bad phone dont get me wrong, just better ones are out there now

I have an Epic 4G, was going with the Touch BUT! I just bought me an Evo 3D from ebay. I think the masses believe in HTC. They are just better built and from what I see here, have more support. Mines in the mail baby, I'll be joining you all here soon.

I really dig the Photon and the SGSII is nice as well. But for me, Sense is where it's at. Plus the Dev support is fantastic and exceeds that of the Sammy and MoPho in my opinion.
I had the opportunity to go Photon or Evo3D. Went Evo3D. No regrets. The community really ha made this phone a beast. Before root, I must admit I missed my Evo4G... Not anymore. 3D is neat, but ultimately a gimmick in my humble opinion. The dial cores are fast. I'm running Eternity on mine and it is buttery smooth. To the battery issue.... I chew through them. SIMPLE and CHEAP solution. Ebay up a set of 3 spare batteries and a battery charger for $20. Cha ching!

Sarcasm? lol Play w/ it for a good long while and choose from there. I'm still thinking of trading in my Evo 3D for an Epic Touch 4G... but I have heard nothing but problems from peeps on these forums regarding said device. LOS; cheap build quality; software issues after root, etc. BUT I have also heard nothing but good things about the screen/camera/phone's fluidity.
I've played w/ the ET a couple of times... I've never had any issues w/ it at all while handling it and the fact that the phone FEELS so much smoother than the Evo 3D really makes me want to make the switch.
Anyway, the Photon beats them both for phone stability and build quality but the interface is very bogged down/laggy and the dev support is pretty damn scarce.
Make the right decision. :3
I figure the battery is the same as epic touch which is bad so I would go have look for quality and I know the evo3d has some weight to it which is fine with me epic touch looks like its poor quality any thoughts

Really depends on what ur coming from. I mean its a bad ass phone for sure but I think I could have been just as happy sticking with my 4G EVO. I love my 3d don't get me wrong. It's fast and reliable for sure. The 3d feature is cool at first but i don't really find any real use for it. Definately love it but think about this too, LTE phones should be coming out one after another starting next year. Depending on what u got now maybe u should wait and see what's new in the first quarter.

If you've held out on upgrading this long, I'd go ahead and wait for Sprint to start releasing LTE devices next year. That would suck if you upgraded now, right before the end of the year and in 6 months LTE devices come out and Sprint's new LTE network starting to become operational, and you're stuck with a WiMAX phone for 2 years.

Yes!! 2 Evo 3D's here for almost 5 months. 100% satisfied. My wife upgraded from Hero to Evo Design 4G 2 weeks ago and that phone is awesome. Go play with all the phones and buy the one that blows your skirt up. Grandpa always said "never buy anything that doesn't excite you". Good luck!!
