I just got my new g2 yesterday.
And I wanted to root it. When I tried the visionary app I pressed on the temproot now and all I get is loading. After the loading screen I get a black screen for the app, but the notification bar is still visible. I don't get root permission from terminal, so I have no idea. I googled the problem, no one seems to have encounted my problem. If they have, they don't get help.
Hello i have the same prb with my device and after more than 5 houres of googling i found the right way to do it.
You must downgrade. it's work 1000% & you have to replace your rom after all.
follow the guide : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003

was using zedomax's root method and got a bunch of errors "too many devices, more than 1 emulator" and now it won't finish booting. Gets just to the point where the unlock ring should come up and then nothing...
I can pull down the status bar and thats about it ...please help. I have the insurance, but will they be able to see that i started rooting it...
I would try to install the RUU to get it back.
It's probably not Bricked.
You can also check out the more full unlocking procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690919
I believe one or both these procedures could be started while in the bootloader.
I'd try the RUU first though.
Look in the Sticky thread in Dev for the RUU (an EXE you run on the PC).

This happened to me as well. Then i realized i have both my old Epic4g AND my new EVOLTE plugged into my computer. I unplugged my epic and voila. it worked just fine. If it still doesnt work, try restarting your PC and redo the process.
Thanks guys for your answers. problem is resolved, but I will what happened in case anyone else has this problem.
I couldn't get the drivers to install on my laptop so I went to the desktop and ran the root. The error messages I got were like this: after the second reboot (supposed to reboot 3 times) it would say "device offline" and it filled the whole screen with that line. Then it said "error too many emulators" and then it would say it was done and that is as far as it would go. It did not boot a third time. I could reboot it, but it would only get as far as the screen JUST before the unlok ring comes up, and that's it.
After posting this thread I read another thread where someone suggested holding the volume down and power to bring up stock recovery and doing a factory reset from there (rookie mistake, I have had the Epic Touch for a while and forgot about the Evo's stock recovery). That got me back. THANK GOD! But still no root.
I didn't want to give up trying to I went back to my laptop and still without necessarily "installing" the drivers, went ahead and tried running the root and VIOLA! It worked flawlessly!
So I don't understand what was going on with the desktop though with the "device offline" and "too many emulators" thing, so if anyone could shed some light on that, I would appreciate it.
glad to hear you got it fixed but if you would have had to filed a claim then you can always say you lost it or something like that.
Hi all bit of a noob, Samsung Galaxy 5 gt 15500 Froyo 2.2 trying to upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread.
Anyway downloaded z4root using QR from this site V1.3.0, thread closed so could not post there. Tried to root but it did not root. Tried z4root again and just got a white screen , waited for a while nothing happened, just a white screen, pressed home and returned to home page OK. I tried to reboot and everything came back, still not rooted but z4root now worked. Tried this 3 times again with blue screen but did not work. Re-installed app a couple of times.
Any suggestions on any similar app that will safely root this phone as this one does not work on this phone also tried "super oneclick" did not work. This is getting frustrating. Tried many searches on google and youtube but none seemed to work on this phone
Thanks 2bretired.
UPDATE 9/16/12
Well after much searching I stumbled across a program called "Unlock root" which had our model number as working, but it only runs from a computer. Be carefull downloading as it tries to put Babylon tool bar on your computer even when you uncheck the install box's.
Downloaded, ran the program and at first it did not root but after a couple of try's it worked. So finally I have a rooted phone. Next step to use ROMmanager to backup existing firmware then upgrade to Gingerbread 2.3.
Hope this helps others out there. 2bretired

Use universal AndRoot as branimiller9 said and just be careful while using ROM manager, (It bricks if you are not careful enough!!). Instead you cab flash clockworkmod recovery from psyke83 and backup/flash anything from there.
I think i did something really really terrible with my NEXUS 7 Wifi+3G, maybe someone can help.
I recently was running i rooted my N7 via Youtube Tutorials and specifically using the "Nexus Root Toolkit" by "WugFresh". I was running 4.2.2 when i did the rooting and successfully do it. Today i received an update for the "4.3" so i updated it... (Stupid) so something went wrong in the "TWRP" program, i tried looking for the "zip" file found one but for some reason it didn't work and when i try to reboot, it only goes up far as the Google Android colorful X Logo and gets stuck there.
After i got home i remember having the option in the Root Toolkit "FLASH STOCK + UNROOT" and kinda googled the problem and somehow made sense, so when i did the unrooting i got to when i'm supposed to lock it "OEM LOCK", but now it's asking for the ADB DEVICE...
Now i can't boot my device it gets stuck in the GOOGLE Logo with the Unlocked lock icon below and on the top left corner it says "Booting Failed" and on the left is the green Start..
I just wan't my old android back... If someone could help me, i would really really appreciate it. Thanks so much!
FIXED
Thanks Guys, fixed it with the help of "NEXUS7ROOT.com" but now, it seems like iv'e lost my 3G and the the files like before won't show in windows explorer when i plug it in...
any help would be appreciated.

Rooted Fire hd 7 screen repeatedly turns black
Hey guys, so I had just rooted my fire hd7 and then I tried getting the google apps on it. In the process, I installed some google apps and then my fire hd started going to a black screen( I do believe I followed the instructions wrong ). As soon as I unlock my device, it shows the home page for a sec then the screen turns black and it repeats that process. I tried the factory resets and reboot and it did not work.
I hope I did not permanently damage my device. Is there anyway to fix it from my computer?

Does it do this after a reboot? Do you have ADB authorized?
How did you exactly try to install GAPPS, with JMZ tool ?
Potentially it's simple to disable various apps via ADB, if you are set up to do so (a great tool is "Debloater")

Hey im not sure why my title says goes black after "flashing gaps" i have no idea what that means lol
I didn't write the "flashing gaps" part. But what happens is that everytime i turn it on and slide left to unlock, it shows the "homepage" for about a second and turns black , and it repeats that process until i turn it off.
Yeah im sure there is some way to fix it through ADB but i have no idea how .
I had download 5 google apps, but I installed them wrong. i was in the Es File program trying to install one and it went wrong after that.
any videos on how to use "Debloater" and where to download it from.? I will definitely check that out. I just had this tablet for a month I would highly appreciate it if someone could help me fix it.

Can someone please help me with this?
I'm experiencing the same issue. Happened after running snap chat. Worked fine then stopped.
Well, I just got this phone this week. It was actually a gift in fact since I broke my last phone a week before this.
As soon as I got used to the new phone. I started playing with it's guts. I rooted it with Kingroot, since it has never failed me before. Installed Xposed Framework, and flashed the 5.1.1 stuff for it to run. I had to flash TWRP to flash the Xposed Framework stuff (for some reason I couldn't get the sideload to work). Got a few modules for it. Got all my usual apps such as Facebook, ES FM, Instagram, etc. Got a few games. Spent some hours playing the games. You know, all the stuff you do when you get a new phone.
Then, I decided it was time to switch from Kingroot to SuperSU, as I do with every phone I root with Kingroot (and there were a few). I did it the same way as I have before, using w0lfdroid's method (I can't post links yet). The Kingroot app didn't automatically uninstall, but SuperSU was working. So, I uninstalled Kingroot manually with ES FM. That caused a lot of "unfortunately, com.kingroot.kinguser has stopped" dialogs that never stopped coming, and I decided a reboot might fix it.
I was wrong, the reboot did NOT fix it. It turns on, goes to the LG logo screen, goes to the Metro PCS screen, dims the background, [all of that within a minute and then] vibrates once, and then no sign of anything else. However, the phone does seem to be alive. When I plug it into USB the MTP starts working. It's also listed in adb's devices list. I can even use adb. I used adb to boot it into bootloader/fastboot, and it's even listed in fastboot's devices. It does still charge.
That damned Kingroot, I'll never use it again to shortcut through rooting. It has always worked, and I've been able to swap it with SuperSU everytime before this one. I just don't want to risk this happening again.
I'm lost on what I should do about this. What would you fella's do?
_____________________
I do have a warranty on it, but I've obviously voided that above. I could lock the bootloader back with fastboot (using "fastboot oem lock") so they don't see anything significant right away, but they could always dig in to see that I've done a lot of changing. Hell, all they would have to do is boot into recovery and see TWRP... xD
Well, I just locked it back ("fastboot oem lock" ) and I think my phone is actually coming back on, it's currently on the "Android is starting" screen optimizing app 12 of 151.
I'm just hoping the lock command doesn't reset my device like the unlock command obviously does... I guess I'll edit this with my results in like an hour when this is done (not literally an hour)!
EDIT 1: 10 minutes later, it seems to be stuck on "Starting apps." after it finished optimizing.
EDIT 2: 10 more minutes later, I'm pretty sure it was indeed frozen on "Starting apps.", so I took the battery out. I turned it back on only to see it still freezing on the Metro PCS screen... Well damn.
EDIT 3: Yet another 10 minutes later, still stuck on the Metro PCS screen...
EDIT 4: I no longer have USB debugging access, since I re locked the bootloader (which seems to have reset it, again). So now I also do not have access to fastboot. I think I screwed myself...
unbricking
@ goatitalone can help you unbrick your device. I still have the files if he is OK with it I can help you too or if he can write a tutorial on here that would be great. @ goatitalone?

do you still have adb? if you do i can send a twrp backup
its been listed kingroot will brick you, currently the oneclick is compatible with our devices. you should have done some searchign before tinkering with your device in my opinion, if youre smart enough to unlock your bootloader .. you should be smarter in researching root methods.
youll have to reflash your device, contact goitalone - as noone that he's helped will help you with getting those files.
as for it being an ms3302 device.. i havent seen that device under our series.
