When using the MSM7227 phone must on and usb debugging is enabled. Don't forget to disable the antivirus in pc first.

Are you running stock rom? Output below from my phone re busybox rooted via flashtools, did my unlock / kernal / rom this morning but started by repairing back to stock rom.
Does flashtools get root when you click Ask root perms?? Maybe just try re-rooting in flashtools..

[SOLVED] Need Help In Rooting My Sony Xperia Tipo 11.0.A.4.25

Hey! Recently I tried rooting my Sony Xperia Tipo 11.0.A.4.25 (not dual sim) with one of the links which led to this website. But after the .bat file told me to click restore on the screen that appears on my phone, it just stops over there.
A couple of months back (before the update for my firmware had come out) my phone was rooted and was working perfectly fine. But it crashed when I tried installing CWM. I had sent. It for repairs (not to sony) where they restored my whole phone.
Please help me root my phone. Now I can't do many things without the root. Please help me.
Contact me on Twitter @NeelShenoy
Post software used..
The root program you are using most likely not compatible with your firmware... atleast send the link to the program so we can see what are you using and help you diagnose the problem...
Root Method
If you want a method to root , first downgrade your frimware 11.0.A.4.22 e=then use bin4ry's method for root....

4. Double click the RunMe.bat and follow instructions..
Use "Normal Mode"
Hit Thanks if i helped
Is There any other way without downgrading?
Isn't there any other way without downgrading?
And how to I flash the file? Is it like the way you installed CWM for me?
Nope. This one is much more safe. Use flashtool , put the .ftf in the flashtool/firmwares directory , install the drivers needed for your phone in the drivers directory if flashtool does not recognise your phone.. Make a backup first!! First use Sony's update service program(http://www.sonymobile.com/in/tools/update-service/)
and click update , when it says "you are on the latest firmware" click install which will re-load your firmware into your phone (follow instructions there) then go to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs folder (program files in case of 32 bit computer)
create a folder called "Source_files" in c:\
in C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony Mobile\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs you"ll find One large file (~400MB) and 2 smaller files (~14MB and ~64KB) .Copy those 3
files to "C:\Source_files"
then use flashtool >advanced >decrypt files , Select source folder : "C:\Source_files" , From Files, select all (Click & Ctrl + A) and click -> to move the 3 files to "Files to convert" click ok From Folder list, select all and click -> to move all files to Firmware content. If it is ICS, tick the Disable Final Verification Check , On Device write the model click ok and let it finish
When it finishes the .ftf file can be found on "C:\Flashtool\firmwares
Hit thanks if it helped

Yes, I installed drivers, when I go to import device it just says that there's no device to import.
Also, after trying one more time, when I press the confirm button (step 5 of the tutorial) it says that an error ocorred (it says something about memory and to try again),

For this you will need Flashtool and Xperia drivers intalled on your PC. (Installing Sony PC companion will do)
Well, what you need to do is download the kernel of previous version. I have attached a file but I am not sure if its the old version. (.10)
Flash FTF of your desired STOCK rom ICS via Flashtool.
Flash kernel of any version before 6.1.1.b.1.54 .
Root it using the file attached.
And you are done!
Make sure the USB tethering is ON in Settings >development !
I have attached the files on page 11 on this post:

NO, but don't worry.
Is your bootloader unlocked?
if not, this must be the reason.
if ýou have unlocked bootloader then,
Flash kernel again and root it using .10.
I am thinking you must have disconnected the phone in the middle.
Were you on administration when you tried to flash it ?
You must give administration rights to run the programme.
Were the drivers properly installed ?
A screen came and said to restore and then you didnot disconnect your phone till the programme asked you to ?
Have you followed instructions properly ?
IF all this doesnot work, Flash FTF of ICS of any ICS you like . Root it again !
I have rooted my phone so many times with the file i sent !
And you are using the option 1 when it asks you to root. You are rooting a mobile and not a tablet.
If anything you need to ask, I be writing you back!

As I suspected, your phone has come with locked bootloader. This means that Sony will not support your phone to be unlocked. The reason simply is they do not want to give out cheap phones so you can use any other sim on your phone. However, you can only run roms which support locked bootloader and you can not experiment much with your phone as it will brick your device. There are quite few roms which support locked bootloader. Further, the tutorial is simply from Sony and thus will not work for your phone!

OK, one last thing, I found this rom (it says that works with locked bootloader): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=194647
But in the instructions it says to flash it via CWM (I know that it's a custom recovery), I searched and the tutorials I found either ask for root or unlocked bootloader.
The text file attached in OP doesn't help much as I am not able to know which FW are you using.
I assume that the FW is greater than B.1.10 which Is why u are facing problems while rooting as the FW used in the guide in OP is B.1.10.
FYI, B.1.10 was directly rootable without much hassle just by following the guide but if you have a C.1.0 / B.1.89 / B.1.100 Stock Rom on your device then you will have to do some extra steps

You don't need to unlock your bootloader in case of flashing stock kernels.
Unlocking bootloader is necessary to flash custom built kernels.

Ok, that is good actually. Now go to this link and download Impactor please, unzip the file onto your PC then double click the Impactor application, then on box that pops up leave it on # drop Supersu su to /system/xbin/su and hit start. IF it says successful the go to Play Store and download Supersu, when it opens it will ask to update binary, choose continue then normal and you should have root! Use root checker to verify afterwards if you like. Good luck!
http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/
You might need to install drivers for your device so the root program can communicate with your device, Impactor has a button to help install drivers but if it fails let me know and I can give you some generic android drivers if nothing else
Hope this helps!
I've managed to install all the drivers, but in time will always fail to install the adb drivers
it say
cannot start this hardware
there was a problem installing this hardware
android composite adb interface (Qualcomm usb ID)
windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware
the driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39)

Try installing this on your PC, it will help find drivers for your device. If that don't work we will use the generic drivers:
http://www.snappea.com/
Also - Do you have USB debugging enabled? Go to Settings > Developer Options > and make sure USB debugging is checked otherwise the PC cant use ADB drivers even if correct ones are installed.

Ok, do you have SuperSU or Superuser on your device? First we will have to sort that out. Both apps do the same thing, but it is not good to have more than one installed at same time or you get conflicts on whether you are rooted because the apps cant decide who controls root access between them all. How many superuser apps do you have counting the chinese one Vroot installed/ Usually when I use Vroot, it installs the chinese superuser app then I instal SuperSU from play store, when you go to update binary in SuperSU the first time you open the app, make sure you hit the right button in the chinese pop up that should pop up. If you have alot of trouble figuring out this part, feel free to install Teamviewer on your PC and I can connect to you and help you get this sorted, I have tools that will let me see your phone on your PC's screen so it wont take long to fix I dont think.
No i dont have supersu apl in my phone.

I will send you everything you need.

Ok, first go install SuperSU from Play Store. Once installed open the app and it should pop up a message saying it needs to update binary. Choose continue then choose normal. You should then get a pop up box that from the chinese root app, make sure you tap the right hand button to allow the english SuperSU to install binary. Let me know if it fails after this, if it completes with no errors reboot phone once. Upon rebooting look to see if the other chinese root app is still there. If it is still there then I will need you to go back into SuperSU app and then choose setttings, within settings please choose "Install SuperSU into /system" This may reboot phone but that is ok, if it does not reboot then reboot it yourself. (If it reboots phone itself, it had to do that to clean up files first and you will need to go back into SuperSU and install SuperSU to /system again and reboot once more) Upon reboot chinese root app should now be gone and you should have root.
I do not need any info about your mobile, I got everything I need to help already. I was suggesting Teamviewer meaning if you cant get root yourself, I was offering to connect to your PC and do it for you. If you would feel more comfortable just doing it yourself that is fine but I was just making the offer in case you were to the point you just wanted it done and over!
Let me know how it goes.

[Q] adb shell access

Hi guys,
I'm new here and this is my first thread, so I hope I've chosen the correct section for my issue.
I have a sony ericsson xperia x10 mini pro and wanted to gain root access. I managed it so far and made some manipulations within the /system/ directory and due to some mental black-out I made a 'chmod 700 /system/' which now causes my device to fail on each boot. Also just connecting my phone with a computer gives the output of the white sony ericsson label followed by a rebooting, without showing the battary loading screen.
Using adb I have only a few seconds of access to the device and I wanted to change the rights of /system/ to some reasonable values. Unfortunately running 'adb shell' gives:
- exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: Permission denied (13) -
so I downloaded adb plus some other stuff following this description android.serverbox.ch/?p=1217. I replaced each and every occurance of /system/bin/sh to /bin/sh in order to call a different shell which I might have read access but still the same error as above occurs, also stating /system/bin/sh instead of /bin/sh.
Does somebody of you have an idea on how I can gain access and change the permissions or how I can completely reset the phone?
Thanks and cheers
I'm not familiar with Sony devices but most OEMS have some way of flashing stock firmware/software to the device such as with fastboot or a flash tool. If Sony has such method and has a package specific to your device this would probably be the best way.
Otherwise I assume you were rooted or you wouldn't have been able to change permissions to /system so can you boot to a custom recovery and then just flash a new ROM or fix permissions there

Go to the recovery then do a fix permissions in recovery. Or flash a new rom. Or use flash tools to install stock images again.

I tried to, but my mobile can not be found by fastboot. Even if I make adb reboot bootloader.

Thats nearly impossible.. Install your drivers.
Despite all this you can use flash tools to flash stock back again.
If you're using Linux type lsusb in the terminal and see if you see your device

I would recommend checking out this guide, specially step 8-15 of this guide which will instruct you how to properly setup fastboot and the required drivers on your Sony device. Also I would recommend taking a look at this guide on how to boot your device into fastboot mode through the button combination. Let me know if you still have questions.
I tried to flash my mobile, using flash tool (from here: chip.de/downloads/Xperia-Flash-Tool_65533558.html) and now my mobile does not do anything anymore. So I guess this thread can be closed, except anyone has an idea what I can do now.

Only a question so don't bash me please....
Is there something special about the device, or what you are limited to on your network that stops you from buying a rootable device?
It would be cheaper than the bounty you offer.
There you could always do a backup of internal storage and move it to new device
i can give u teamviwer in windows or kali and plug the device to the pc so u can root it
i will pay front only for trusted developer

I'm not a dev, just wondering why you don't save some $$ and get a device that can be rooted. I'm not familiar with your phone.

Please give me some files build.prop and boot.img, recovery.img i'll see what i can do.
Code:
adb pull /system/build.prop
adb shell
$ mount > /sdcard/mount.txt
$ exit
adb pull /sdcard/mount.txt
(and if it exists) adb pull /proc/config.gz
boot.img and recovery.img can be found in a update package from your manufacturer.
Also since you probably don't trust me I'll provide with the source if I succeed building a recovery for your device
I also think that buying a 2nd phone would be an more economical solution.
I mean, for USD 2000 you can buy an Galaxy Edge with 128gb storage or an Galaxy S6 with 128gb internal storage.
i need to root this device for very personal reasons.
if u can do it just let me know
