[Q] I screwed up - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Ok to start off I have recently got my Ace with a subscription from Vodafone.
But i did an update to Gingerbread today (not original), to find out that afterwards I lost all my apps contacts etc and some things were russian (i had changed language already) but also my mobile network settings wich I received in an MMS the first time I turned on my phone.
But it was 2.3.3 wich I think I already had now that I see that theres already a official 2.3.4
So to just get it all legal and standard and everything I did a factory reset but after it was done i found out it was just the same since (I thought of that later on) that the old firmware was erased.
So I tried connecting to kies but instead of the DU-DONG! sound my PC makes after connecting it made a weird noise as if it is blocking the input. Ive tried putting debug mode on-off etc with Sd card too but nothing worked.
I get it to connect for 1 second then it disconnects and starts like dismounting and mounting my SD card for no reason
I am really stressed right now and Im here with a phone without connection settings and a not official firmware with weird russian apps for like samsung app store and unable to connect to kies so PLEASE HELP ME!
I live in the Netherlands I dont know if firmware is related to region but if it does you know mine
I searched all over google and posted it on samfirmware.com but they dont reply
you can also mail me to [email protected] and [email protected] please also mail me if you posted the solution on this forum so that I know I can check since Ill forget it I guess

Not understand what you want
if language is prob then change language in setting
And for mms setting you have to write by your self as you install other regions firmware
and data only come back if you backed up by kies as by your post i think not rooted before
and you not screwed up your phone so cheers
try cynogenmod rom and ferl its awesomeness

What I actually want is just letting kies auto update my phone but I 1: have a non official firmware and 2: cant connect my Phone to kies/PC

Wow, I tought it was something bad.
Look , it seems that you dont read or search in the forum at all.
When you flash a phone, you'll have to put your apn settings manually (mms service and internet service).
The language is normal, since it's a russian firmware (I believed you installed kph maybe?).
Dont know why kies dont work, I dont use it anyways.
And of course it says is a non official firmware, you installed it. And I dont care either. I dont recommend using kies for updating at all. Y preffer odin.
Now, I just have to say that I dont use kies at all, in fact, the rom i'm using now doesnt connect me to kies either. But doesnt matter, i dont even use it.
Cya

You lost your apps due i thing to the fact you left your Sd card in when updating. Remember that in future.
Make sure the Custom version your updating is correct to your mobile, I feel the one you have is not & you should try other versions through the same safe route using Odin.
Hope this is helpful.

Im sorry for the title I know its fixable but I felt so F'ed up after I lost all my contacts (I know I had to back them up stupid me) my apps and internet settings
I see what you mean but I found kies pretty usefull and also I figured that I had to put in my PAN settings myself and I found them on the Vodafone website but i can choose like 4 types of APN I dont know wich to choose. Ok I can live with kies not working but it doesnt show up as a mass storage either.
I actually wanna connect to kies cause I think I still have an old backup there cause I updated once and I remember Itunes always made back-ups when updating your device

Yeh youre right I left it in, isn't there anyway to get it back

Can I actually just format my SD card and put it in again so it would configure my SD correctly?

Ok what I did is im actually installing/downloading Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 Official Gingerbread 2.3.4 Update with DDKQ5.
Then imma go to vodafone get those settings and see if i can get it to work and if kies doesnt work then imma format my SD card and then put it in install it see if kies works if it doesnt ill just put music on it via SD adapter?
Is that a good method?

[Q] Vibration stops working after update to latest Samsung Official Firmware

Recently just got my GS2 and I love it (coming from iPhone 4 and use to have HTC Magic). But I encountered a problem with my phone the same day I got it which is that the vibration stops working after I updated the phone to the latest firmware provided by Samsung through Kies.
I've tried going into the test mode *#0*# and just select vibration but the screen just turn black and the phone won't vibrate. I am trying to find the official firmware for my phone but I can't seem to find it anywhere. My phone CSC is different from the one on the Official Firmware thread. I can't remember of the top of my head what it is but if it helps, mine seems to be an import set and the CSC starts with J.
I've tried doing a hard reset through the OS but it also didn't help. What I am trying to do now is trying to find some way to reflash the OS but Kies don't allow me to do that and I am not sure where to get the official firmware as I am afraid that if I flash it with other firmware that is of a different CSC, my warranty may not be honoured.
So just wondering if anybody here got any tips and helps to solve this problem or do I have to send it back to the shop?
One try Kies emergency firmware recovery .
Two a factory reset .
Official firmware for your phone is only on Kies Samsung stock Samsungs not phone providers .
Two choices one service centre Samsung
two is the unofficial route of flashing via Odin stock firmware . Samsung will not refuse warrant but seller may .CSC may not be for your area enter APN settings yourself .

I also noticed a lack of vibration today. Could not get it to work whatever i did, but I did not update it... In fact I didn't do anything except trying out my new Samsung car holder with it.
I suggest you use this thread for further analysis.
I debranded mine last night but couldnt follow the final step. Now I`ve plugged my SGSII into the pc Kies can`t tell me what firmware version I`m
using. Even worse, as I`m a new user I can`t post on that thread to ask for assistance! LOL
I wish i`d left it well alone now, all I wanted to do was debrand it so I could update to KE7. Sigh

Debrand mean remove bloatware and does not give you an update path .
You can try a factory reset and wipe all data see if Kies picks up update .
Or use stock rom KE7 via Odin or the current update KF1 .
KIES will update original firmware when its available but may not pick up stock firmware .

Just flash KE7 without doing any debranding stuff and hard reset after the device starts for the first time.
Cheers jje, I`m assuming if I want to use stock rom that means I need to root the phone? I`ve never dabbled in that side of things before and was rather nervous just about debranding.
I almost wish I could undo what I`ve done and just wait for Three to send out the update. I`m assuming thats not so easy?
Eureka, suddenly i noticed that my phone's vibration ability was back when walking to a shop with my headphones in. It seems like the headphone jack somehow influences things. Maybe a bad connection between these components?
Maybe you should try this out to confirm this?

Im new here and have tons of questions from experienced people

Hello. I'm George. And I have loads of questions about my android I think I have samsung galaxy 5 but im not entirely sure. Searching for my phone on internet and android market it gave me Samsung GT-I5500. But Is it I5500 when it has a with google logo on the back of it?
so lets begin
1. I would like to update my phone Rom or how you call it, I have 2.2 froyo at the moment. Can I update it higher?
2. If i can then how much room do I need on my sd car cause at the moment I have only 1gb sd card. Would that work or i need biger?
3. If I would do it could anyone give me online help? over skype or msn?
4. what happens if i mess it all up? Is my phone warranty lost and I can throw the phone in lake?
5. The last time I kinda attempted to uptade it it gave me error when backing up original rom. It was something to do that it couldnt mount /system or something.
6. What does bricked mean? does it mean its broken forever?
I'm so nervous that I mess it all up so before i **** it up I thought I will contact you guys.

1. Yes, 2.3.7 is the highest (I think) except for ics (4.0) which is very unstable
2. Don't need much space on sdcard except for moving apps. 1gb is enough
3. I'm sure someone would. Id be willing to do it over msn if we arranged a time, if you needed.
4. It is very hard to mess up. If you follow instructions there is a 99.85691% chance of messing up (exact value ) there are ways to get it backbif by any chance you do mess up
5. I don't think you are able to back up stock roms at the moment, that's why. But there are other stock rom files that you can flash if you ever want to go back
6. Bricked, meaning your phone is as useful as a brick. Happens when you mess up big time.
I was the same as you on my first time. It went fine for me, now I'm flashing different stuff all the time

[Q] 19300XXBLFB has broken my S3

Hi all, I figured this was the best place to ask this question as you lot seem to know alot
On friday evening my UK GS3 was updated to 19300XXBLFB via kies since then 90% of the time i make a phone call i get a com.android.phone stopped working message, if i press ok the call hangs up if i dont then i can still talk.
I cant recieve any calls as my phone just freezes, I have tried a factory reset and even tried a firmware and initilisation thing through kies but the problem is still happening.
I dont know if i could *flash* my phone and if i could would it solve the problem and or affect my warranty?
Cheers:crying:

Backup data and factory reset first .
You can if not fixed try flashing the firmware for your phone or a stock Samsung rom from the stock rom threads ,
Ignore root and custom rom fix .

Stock firmware flash via Odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
Or as said return under warranty Kies failure .
jje
do a factory reset. see if that fixes it. if not reflash. if none of the above works, try another firmware. if still fail, exchange your phone.

For you, a simple fix would be to back up all your settings, information, etc through kies. And then factory reset your phone in the settings and have it delete "everything."
Then sync all your apps, settings, contacts, etc through kies. Give this a try.
Later on if you feel more comfortable with hacking and flashing after doing tons of research, and I recommend doing a lot of research by reading all the stickie topics here. Then go right ahead. It does void your warranty but you can undue the hacks.
Thanks guys, I've just found that there is a repair center about a hour away so will be popping in there as soon as I can and I will call Samsung tomorrow and see what they advise
Don't use kies, its rubbish, broke my sgs1, stick to odin, flash latest stock for your area after full wipe, will be fine
Sent via TCP/IP
If you've backed up your contacts and used Facebook contact sync app then simply don't restore your contacts after a factory reset. Worked for me

Please help - Hacker deleted my CM OS

So this guy online tried to make me send come cash via Western Union to China so that he can "buy my car and freight it over". I knew it was a scam so i kept msging on my Samsung Galaxy S3 with CM mod. In the end he got the ****s and next thing you know my whole OS is gone, i enter recovery mod there is nothing there, everything has been wiped out.
I can still go through all functions but i cannot mount anything. Is there any way to get my OS back?
I tried to use KIES to recover by default but it says i cannot update the device, i think its because i run CM?
Thanks
okay first 1.Why would you keep messaging with a guy who tries to scamm you ?
2. I don't think this is possibile for someone to "hack" into your phone just like that .
3. perhaps your phone died ,suddenly ?
4. flash the rescue firmware ,maybe it can help .
5. I still don't believe it

Yes i was like you, i believe it is not possible for him just to hack my phone so i kept messing with him. But the fact that after i lead him on for 5 days and right after the last email i sent him my phone just went dead. I cannot bypass the Samsung screen during startup, and it seems like it might have been bricked.
I don't see how i been using CM for last year and nothing happen and next thing this happened because then it would have happen to alot of other people using CM mod.
i have been using cm for almost 2 years ( alot of nigerians tried to scamm via email ,but i don't respond to emails ( unknown ) via phone because of data scripts)) , and i have to say ,happend to me once while playing a game ,phone suddenly turned off ,tried to turn on and ended in a bootloop .
Once you roooted your phone and changed the rom kies become unavailable for firmware upgrades . Try use odin and flash rescue firmware maybe it will help with something . Follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30087735&postcount=6

Galaxy S7 brick/bootloop data saving for dummies - need urgent help please

hey there im thomas from switzerland and im new here
i cant post the thread in the specific area due to my newbie status. im sorry
my englisch isnt that good; neither is my knowledge in software engineering. i dont know the specific terms like adbpush/pull, cwm, mount and so on. im not even sure what exactly the difference between rooting and flashing is lol and i have no clue about what a kernel is
so thats gonna be kinda funny. i hope
well my problem i quite easy to explain. my wifes galaxy s7 is bricked/has a boot loop whatever. it powers up, doestn vibrate and shows the samsung logo an stocks from that on. it doesnt reboot automatically. its stuck at this point until the battery dies or i enter the boot mode or bios or how u say to the mode (power, home, volup) and shut it down. when i shut it down manually im able to restart it again and enter the download mode (voldown). simple restarting or wiping cache didnt work.
so u see i already tried to fix it myself within my abilities. i postet my acutal problem in some other forums but i didnt really got helped out and mostly was told to contact the xda developers for professional and patient help.
i dont want to get the phone running again, its display is a little broken and i got a guarantee so i can swap the phone via my provier, so thats not the actual point. the only thing i want to have are the many many pictures which my wife didnt cloudshare or save otherwise.
so what can i exactly do to recover the pictures and videos. ive read as long as i can access the download mode im able to do something, but no one really knows how to.
the device is a standard s7 non rooted, i dont know exactly which android is running on it but i think my wife would have updated the version if the notification would have popped up. so i think its android 6.0 or 6.0.1 or something like that. im pretty sure she didnt enter the development settings to enable usb debugging or something else. its just a standard s7 from a german store. i do not know the exact model number of the phone like (gt-123456) hope these informations are neccessary if not sorry lol
ive read a lot of flashing instructions with lots of terms which ive never heard and cant explain to myself.
so is there probably anyone who would so nice to instruct for dummies how to get my pictures and videos from the phone please? just explain what to do in non-it-professional-words. if ure going to use a term just quickly explain in very few words what is meant by that.
ive read somewhere about an samsung usb driver to install first, but everywhere are only parlty described guides which i just dont understand.
i have downloaded odin3, have an usb cable, the device, a very slow win10 laptop, absolutely no clue of the complete matter but much patience haha
thank you very very very much
thomas
I am not sure that you may or may not get DATA from phone Back. But if you flash with stock rom for now you may able to open phone.
Allow me some time to get instruction and firmware and necessary files. Be patient.

hey there
thank you very much. ive found a video which declared what files i maybe need.
i already downloaded the 2.1 gb sized rom from sammobile.com for my model last night, i found the number on the case and i also downloaded and installed the samsung usb driver for the s7.
tonight im going to try out what to do. so what im about to do with that?
i also read that usb debugging must be enabled, which surely has not been done by my wife.
cheers

so the actual question is: what do i have to do now with all these data? try to "flash" with odin3 like in many other descriptions? if it works, does my phone boot as like as nothing ever happened and i can totally use the device again? or is just the bootloader menu extended so that i have to go further steps to get my pictures saved or what?
im sorry, as i said i dont know much about android things like that.
what am i supposed to do now and what exactly is my phone supposed to do afterwards?

Your problem's solution is simple...when u flash ur firmware file (2.1gb) through Odin, it will only clear ur system partition and some other partitions but won't touch ur data portion where ur pics are stored... So just flash ur firmware using Odin ..
well i just flashed the phone, odin worked with success but the s7 is still stuck at the same point. it doesnt boot up.
what else can i do to get to my data? is there any option?
