Confirmed. Yes, the Infuse MHL adapter works fine. I've been using an Infuse MHL adapter with mine since May with no issues. I have the international SGS2.
Got my MHL adapter for free even before MHL adapters could be purchased! Just went to my local AT&T store and asked the manager for the MHL adapter from one of the floor display Infuse's. Gave it to me without issue.

MHL adapters are supposed to be universal between all phones that support MHL, regardless of make or model.

[Q] HDMI to VGA Adapter

There is an official HDMI to VGA adapter from Asus
However, I was wondering if third party adapters could work. I found one from dealextreme that is male-mini-HDMI-to-male-VGA adapter.
If Transformer supports analogue VGA signal via HDMI port, then I think it should work. If the official adapter has some additional D/A converter built-in (which I think is unlikely), then only the official cable will work.
Has anyone tried?
Could you please give us a pointer of the official HDMI to VGA from Asus?

It's not released yet.
Generic ones should work fine. But be prepared for some long chains. e.g. mini to regular HDMI, HDMI to DVI, DVI to VGA.

it really depends on the tablet, since HDMI is digital and VGA and DVI is analog, so it depends if the tablet actually gives a analog signal or not
if it doesn't you're gonna need a DAC to use VGA =/
Tried it?
Has anyone tried a mini hdmi to vga cable? If so please can they confirm.

Second here...tried it...not working
Ya it doesn't work for me too.
I suspect ASUS mapped the pins differently from the HDMI pins to the VGA pins. If ASUS can make the HDMI-to-VGA adapter work, that means the Transformer can already support analogue signal output from the HDMI port. Or else they would need a bigger adapter to do D/A conversion outside the tablet. If so, then once someone got hold of the mapping, it would be easy to mass produce a HDMI-to-VGA cable for the tablet.
FOTA Update?
If you have had the FOTA ASUS update and have a mini HDMI to VGA adapter please can you test. Looks like this update added support for the new Asus accessories, of which is the Asus VGA adapter.
I use the HP HDMI->VGA adapter and it works just fine. I need to use an adapter to convert to MiniHDMI.

you have that working on your transformer?
could you post a link to the exact model?
Working too here.

But, the official one is about 25$, and need no adapter. Soo if you dont have hurry, you may wait for it.
Beware that normal cable adapters may not work, since a digital - analogical convertion is needed.

Yes! The offical asus conveter is very similar, but already have the mini hdmi, but the adapter is small. Noticed that it may not be easy to found this adapter ina a retail store, I forgot to buy it online when I buyed the hdmi to vga converter. (Note: I saw some converter, with external power adapters, but this is clean, small and works!)

What. Digital Visual Interface, what's analog about it? DVI-I does analog too, but it's still a digital connection that can do analog. If the video card supports HDMI encryption with a cheap adapter DVI can even send HDMI signals.

Monoprice sells mini HDMI to HDMI adapters for $2 + s/h. It'll work with the HP HDMI to VGA converter. If there's some distance between the monitor and the tablet, Monoprice also sells mini HDMI to HDMI cables, up to 15 feet long. The 15 ft cable is about $5 + s/h.

[Q] HDMI Out cable?

I've searched Amazon for the HDMI out cable (mini-usb to HDMI) and it came up with a lot of EVO 4G compatible ones, will that one work or not? I recall viewing a video review saying the hdmi cable for the EVO 4G isn't compatible with the 3D Evo, but I could be mistaken.
You NEED a micro-usb to hdmi cable. the ones for the evo 4g are JUST mini-HDMI to regular HDMI. Check the HTC website or wait until after the 3D comes out; there should be plenty coming out (it might even be included when you buy the phone?)

I have a Micro-HDMI for my EVO. I haven't read what size the port on the 3D is so I can't say for sure. From Monoprice you could buy both and still pay less than you would buying from Sprint or HTC.
Edit: Apparently according to this it doesn't have one, it uses some different method of USB to HDMI

It's a Micro USB to HDMI connection. The biggest benefit is that it charges your phone while connected. Biggest drawback, your TV has to have compatibility built into it.

All TVs that have HDMI input (basically all of them now) support it.
Actually, no tv's support mhl right now, but they will be able to do hdmi out with the cable, but just not charge at the same time, but htc also said they have an adapter to charge while doing hdmi out

Sorry, I should have clarified. You're right. I was just talking about video out from the phone to the TV. The charging stuff, I'm not sure about.
Your tv will support it, you will have a dongle that attaches to from the micro usb to the mini HDMI port that provides function to the TV. Its called MHL technology and its very exciting. Charging your phone while you watch movies on your phone on your LCD or LED television is awesome. There are many, many functions for this technology and they are just starting to test what it is we really need to get this working without the dongle that is required without the TV or monitor needing the technology. Youtube MHL Technology and you will find your answer.
Just read in one of the links in this post that mhl does not support 3d...so how do u output 3d video to a 3d tv?

Still learning about this myself but from what I've read with mhl v.1.0 you can't, it doesn't support it. I don't know if the port will eventually be able to support it with later versions of the standard. Also, if you buy a cable when they're first available it's possible they'll only support 1.0 and you might need a new cable when later revisions of the standard are finalized to support the new features (similar to HDMI).

Kind of disappointed that I'll have to buy an adapter for my phone to charge while using HDMI out, this technology is cool, but the downside is that no TVs support it (yet). And I just bought a 42" like two weeks ago.
Am I mistaken or will all the 3D pics/vids essentially will only be viewable on EVO 3Ds? Like you'll see them but they won't be in 3D, regardless of TV or monitor claiming 3D functionality.
So now that the phone is out, has anyone tried out a generic micro usb to HDMI on the EVO 3D?
I can't seem to find any tv-out cables specific to the EVO 3D, so I want to be sure any micro usb to HDMI cable will work.

Micro usb won't work. You need.an MHL adapter. Then a regular hdmi cable plugs into the MHL adapter, and you plug your charging cable into the MHL adapter so it charges while its mirroring hdmi.

Does anyone even make a micro USB to HDMI cable? I have the adapter dongle thingy, but I'm curious what would happen if it was just a cable instead of a dongle.
lol.....dongle
This is a real disapointment. I bought a micro Genie cable for my EVO 4G. Now it sits there wasting away. I can't understand why they couldn't keep the mini Genie port on the 3D. Now I got to spend another 40-50$ if i want to hook my 3D up to hdmi.

Interesting - does that adapter also give you a port to charge while you do TV Out? It's impossible to tell from the small picture on t-mobile site and for some reason the "details" link doesn't work.

Quick question: Does the GSII actually come w/ the MHL adapter like the Infuse does?

I've seen a few unboxings where it doesn't have it but one review said the Att version did so I was confused: Does the GSII come with the MHL adapter in the box like the Infuse does?
Didn't get one here

How cheap. No mhl adapter even. And atnt likes to play poor me when it comes to profits and acquiring other companies.

Nope, no MHL adapter.
MHL support is in the kernel - so hopefully it's in the stock ROM.
Up in Canada, the Rogers Infuse didn't have an MHL adapter - and MHL was completely removed from the firmware!

The LG G3 doesn't use MHL they use another adapter called slimport. I don't know the technical differences, but I know they are not inter-changeable.

Samsung's MHL adapters don't usually work for other devices. I bought what turned out to be a Samsung only cable a while back, when I plugged it into my HTC DNA it would not fit. I ended up grinding down the connector so I could get it plugged in and it still didn't work. Traded it to my boss for a regular MHL cable and that worked fine. I have not tried it in my G3 however, with the Chromecast and Miracast options I just haven't needed to.
that's ridiculous, there should be a universal mhl adapter. The reason I want one is so I could play emulators that are on the phone. If I did that wirelessly with miracast and chromecast, I get bad latency issues

I know it's definitely ridiculous, Samsung is getting just as bad as Apple about proprietary connections. If I get a chance when I get home I will try the adapter I have for my HTC and see if it works. I have a WD TV Live box that supports Miracast and it's terrible, but the Chromecast seems to work a lot better. I can see latency being and issue with games for sure though.
