What is the best app to backup
- app list (download and install from market)
- SMS/MMS
- phone book
- wifi settings
- alarms
- ringtones
- wallpaper
- bookmarks
- email accounts
or maybe more than one app ??
So far I used:
Backup Master
App List Backup
MyBackup Pro
Stock Backup and Restore
Or maybe
NanDroid Backup
Titanium Backup?
SE Xperia 8 - Rooted - Stock Rom
+1 titanium backup

Titanium Backup definetly.
TB is for apps; accounts and wifi data
You can back up contacts as vcf with the stock contacts app.
For everthing else, try BackupEverything or MyBackupPro.
Or just copy the whole /data folder with Root Explorer (-;
But if you backup app with TB it will backup app data and when you later for example restore contacts app you will have all your contacts preserved.

hi guys,
i just flashed my x10 to froyo from the original 2.1 rom. Before that i've backup my contacts with backup & restore application now i have the apk as well but i cannot install in on my froyo.. i need help if anyone can make the apk compatible with froyo or guide on how to install it using xrecovery.
Probably not so easily done.
I'd suggest flashing back to Stock and backing it up with another method.

thx for the help.... thumps up!!!
My backup pro restored my messages but failed to restore contacts
my contacts are always just backed up to my google account automatically so I've never worried about those.
And the SE Backup and Restore app will not work on any rom that isn't created by SE.
I have rooted my x10i and accidentally deleted my stock calendar app.
Though I have used the titanium backup to backup first, but I found I can't restore it. I think it is the system app.
How can I restore that app back?
thx
I uploaded the stock SE calendar apk, just copy it to \system\app, then set the permission(just check the permission of other apk on the \system\app, and it should be same like the other).

hi,
anyone know how to backup your sms so that when you flash new rom,
the sms can be restored ?
using go sms now, but the backup is stored in internal SD,
when i flash new rom, factory reset, the sms cannot be restored,
can anyone share what they are using
You can use a simple app called SMS Backup and Restore.
where do it backup your sms to ?
I prefer "SMS Backup +".
It creates a label in your GMail-account hnd stores all the Sms within.
On the plusside as compared to strictly local solutions:
- can be backed up/restored across device
- You can search/read Sms through GMail

Hello all,
I want to format my phone and install a new ROM. So I backup the apps I use with Titanium Backup. But how can I backup the stock messaging app on stock ROM? I've tried to backup the app itself (it's a system app) with Titanium Backup but it didn't work... My previous messages didn't show. How can I backup my messages?
Thanks in advance.
to backup the messaging app , go to TB and search messaging and then make a backup. if you want to backup your messages, search messages and there is an option to backup " messages (sms & mms) " press this and press backup. one thing to keep in mind is that it will ask you to change the default messaging app when you restore "messages" and you must accept it so as to restore all your messages. when done, it should tell you to change back the messaging app to stock , if not , go to settings -> more -> default messaging app
Install the backup & restore app from Z3, Z3+ or Z5; you can backup your messages, call log and more! obviosuly this needs root. A backup file can be created on the microSD card, internal or even an external USB stick via USB OTG and the Z3+ and Z5 allow you to backup "in the cloud", all you have to do is sign with your google account.
You can install app from Google Play Store: "SMS Backup & Restore"
