Hey guys, is there a way to update my rom without SD Card, since my 10.1 version does not have it ?!?!
Thank you !!

Your tab does too have a SD card, just not an external one.

Welcome to android. Your question sort of outed you as an android noob. That's alright, but you have a lot of reading to do before you mess with ROMs and the like. Good luck, and happy flashing!

Go to Dev section and read the sticky thread

Installing applications (newbie)

i was installing a few softwares form the market and i think it installed them on to the phone.
how to install the applications on to the memory card?
how can move the applications to the memory card?
Thanks in advance!
You need to be running a ROM with apps2sd enabled.
Im not sure if using it on a stock ROM is possible or not.

Follow BTDAG's guide like i said earlier. The instructions are bang on so not much could go wrong. It is a little risky,... but its a risk most people on this site are willing to take.
*JUST MAKE SURE YOU ARE PATIENT, ESPECIALLY WHEN UPDATING RADIO*
EDIT.......... LOTS of ROMS available in the development section.

With the 3DRoot5 does Titanium Backup work ???

Hey guys and gals, I was thinking about using the 3DRoot-5 temporary root script , so I can restore all my apps from my old SD card with Titanium Backup. Can anyone please share their experiences in detail?
Thanks.

In the Developement section there are multiple guides to getting Titanium Backup to work. I'd check them out and see what you think will work best for you. Probably shouldn't have started a whole new thread for this, but good luck getting it working.
Thanks.
I started a thread for my question, due to being banned for a day, posting a non thread related question/comment.... So i figuered a question here would be safe.

Haha....nothing's safe around here LOL....and I wasn't trying to be a d*ck either. Just saying everyone seems to have a different experience with different methods. You just need to find one you're comfortable trying and give it a go. Plenty of info is available, read, and make sure you understand what you're doing before you do it.
Yeah, I feel you.
I did find a script in that area with the busybox, SU, etc all in one. Thanks for the directional opinion
Here ya go!
I wrote this up to help noobs Follow it step by step and you should be able to use TB--it worked for me!

But also, if this is just for putting apps from your old SD card on your phone...can't you just throw on your old card and transfer apps to your internal memory? Or copy the apps onto your computer and then into your current SD card?
Good luck
Dude, if I could xfr my apps to my pc I would be straight!! And, then load them back to my 3D?? That would be sweet.
Edit..wrong quote..lol

Few questions about CM9.

Hello.
I have just got this phone few days ago.
I am intrested in installing CM9, but i have few questions. If i have understood correctly, I need to install leaked ics before installing cm9 (or any other ics rom). Can this be done with mobile odin, and if can, am I able to keep the root with it? (It has function to keep root)
Also, does cm9 support usb otg? There was no result when i tried to search.
Sorry if these are stupid questions.

if you are already rooted which i gather you are just flash the latest nightly. then flash the last google apps and that is it job done. you can flash all those from recovery.
Make sure you back up your current rom and apps and then go ahead and do full wipe. Data - cache - and dalvik and also format system in mount and storage. Flash the above two i mentioned and that should be it.
Regarding the usb - otg not sure but you can ask in the discussion thread
EDIT: i went from checkrom v6 straight to cm9 if that helps.
No. You don't need to install leaked ICS first. I tried CM9 over the weekend & flashed CM7 first. Follow the instructions on the first page of the CM9 discussion thread & you'll be fine.
If you use the files linked to in the first post in the CM9 thread, they're CWM flashable, so you'll need to have a kernel installed that has CWM in order to flash them. CFRoot kernel will do just fine if your phone isn't already rooted with a kernel that has CWM. There might be Odin flashable files around somewhere, you might have to search for them.
It is rooted, yes. Does it support USB OTG ? Good question. That's one thing I do use a bit on GB & forgot to test when I used CM9. Given USB file transfer doesn't work yet, I doubt it. But ask in the CM9 discussion thread or read the FAQS/Wiki.
So in summary, given you haven't done anything to your phone yet:-
1) Root it with a CFRoot kernel
2) Go to the CM9 discussion thread & follow the install instructions in the first post.

True but once you get the hang of things and how things work with the s2 it is a piece of cake..But i must admit sometimes i get scared on what to do specially if i have to unroot and root again as i have only done it a few times...Once i stayed rooted that is it...i do all my upgrading by flashing custom roms. anyway good luck with cm9 you will not regret using it..let me know how you get on
Haha ;-) You Sir are a noble man
OP - Yep, S is right. CM9 is a very nice piece of work given they've only had leaks & their own considerable hacking talents to work with. It's not quite a 'daily driver' for me at this point, but once sources come out I'll be switching back to it post haste. I'd be surprised if the CM team don't have a stable ICS release long before other devs.

Omega V13 noob question...sorry

I have been looking at the Omega V13 ROM and really fancy trying it out.
Do I simply place the download ZIP file onto my sd card and install from Recovery?
I had originally un-zipped the file and placed the folders in my phone, but Recovery didn't find any update files...
Am I being an idiot?
Thanks in advance.

Just a quick tip, you do need to be rooted and already flashed a custom kernel to get CWM to flash that zip in recovery. I suggest you do A LOT more reading before doing ANYTHING..... Sorry if you know all this already, from your post I would say make sure you read all you can and understand what you're before doing it.... GL

If I were you I would NOT do ANYTHING till you understand what you're doing.... There is so much to learn and it takes time to learn... If you do something wrong you can brick (make your phone not usable) it's not worth the risk till you have read LOTS to understand what you're doing..... Here is a link to get you started http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1384134
Just remember it's not cool to have a phone that doesn't work.... Once you get it all figured out flash your first custom kernel in Mobile Odin so you don't trip the flash counter... The free XDA v is in that link......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
GL PLEASE READ LOTS BEFORE DOING ANYTHING

Thanks for the reply mate, but despite my noob question regarding this particular ROM, I have flashed/modded my phone a number of times. I have tried the Resurrection ROM, plus a couple of others in the past. The confusion in me arose because every other ROM I'd tried used Odin, whereas this is my first through Recovery.
Thanks again.

And with that, GL enjoy your new ROM!!!
That's fair enough dude
Generally instructions on how to install are on the first page of the thread. In general you have to do:
Full Wipe/Factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Advanced -> Wipe dalvik cache
Install zip from SD (or internal memory)
WARNING: You will lost all your phone numbers, wifi passwords, SMS, game levels and data you dont back up. I recommend using Titanium backup for those matters & SMS backup app. Anyway just in case do a backup of anything important you wish to keep.
Well, I've tested a few ROM's this evening and have stuck with Resurrection Remix (4.0.4).
Have to say that I love it thus far!
Thanks for your responses guys.

Having problems moving apps to SD on my rooted Cricket SGS3

Hoping someone can help me figure out the easiest way to move my larger games (and save data, if applicable) from my internal memory to the 64gb external SD card I originally planned on using it all for.. I recently rooted my phone and the first thing I wanted to get done is this memory move. Been having nothing but problems so far.. I saw a video showing someone using a program called GL to SD and it looked easy but I keep getting 'insufficient storage space' errors when I try downloading it off the play store. I tried side loading it too but received another similar error only after successfully downloading it, then trying to install.. Something seems to be blocking this program from working, regardless..
Anyway, also tried Link2SD to no avail and I was just hoping someone here may be able to help me a bit, kinda new to the scene here.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Do you mean something like "directory bind" on xda?
What android version do you have? Is it a gt-i9300?

I actually have the Cricket version, so it's the SCH-R530C GS3... I'll go into a program like App2Sd or Link2SD and I keep getting the 'your device is not supported because your device has a primary external storage which is emulated form the internal storage' error.. Not sure about 'directory bind' or what that means, sorry, I'm pretty new to this..

OK this is the i9300 forum, so probably wrong place?
But by version, I meant Android. 4.0.4, 4.1.1, 4.1.2 etc? Because Directory bind works up to 4.1.2 but not 4.2.1
Anyway

Hmm... I was able to download the program but it again tells me 'out of space' when I try installing the program. I have over 2gb left on my internal memory.. any ideas why I keep having this problem?
Something you did with the other apps probably. Revert. But you may have to reset

Edit. Nevermind. Thanks again f or the suggestion..
Alright, I have a new dilemma it would seem.. I just used ROM manager to flash the newest cyanogenmod ROM to my phone. The first time I did it, it successfully backed up my system data, then errored out after trying attempting to backup user data. I went back in and made sure to back up everything via Titanium Backup, then retried flashing this time without selecting backup (still chose to wipe cache/dalvik. Everything seemed to be going fine after that, it installed the ROM successfully but after booting up again (with the new cyanogenmod logo and everything), I keep getting 2 errors that keep popping up... 1) Unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped. and then 2) Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped.. Anyone know what this could be or how to go about fixing this possibly? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Oh. Thanks, sorry about that. Could you be so kind as to point me to the correct forum here on XDA possibly? My phone is pretty much bricked right now and I need it for work tomorrow. This is the kind of thing I was worried about when I decided to ROOT this thing. I'm freakin out right now.. I've asked this same questing on the Cricket Users forum and noone has helped me just yet..
EDIT: without having to flash anything new, possibly you could tell me how to revert back to what I originally had without too much trouble? I searched these forums to find nothing at all for the Cricket version. I did my homework before flashing the rom and it was definetly okayed for my phone. Again, any help would be a life saver.. Would it be advisable to install the original root package from my sd card again? Could that hurt anything?
