[App]Show missed Reminders [Updated 2012/01/14] - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I had a problem with missing Reminders when the device was off.
If a reminder was supposed to go off, but the device was off (not stand-by), the reminder will not be shown (Da!) - and even when I turned the device back, it wouldnt pop-up reminders for events/appointments/tasks that occured when the device was off.
(Unlike my old WM2003 device, that would show reminders that were in the past, even if it was off, and without battery)
So - I after it was too much - I decided to write a small app that will show reminders that were supposed to be displayed when the device was off.
This app is composed of a service that writes the time every 1 minute, and a start-up application that scans for reminders that were supposed to be shown between the last time registered in that file, and the time the startup application is ran.
(And since I dont have a certificate for the service, a small startup exe that starts the service and quits).
The 2005 cab id for WM 5 and up
and the 2003 cab is for WM 2003 (although 2003 probably doesnt need this)
** Requires .NET V2 and higher.
****** All who downloaded this app before Oct-20-2011 05:00 (GMT+2), Please download it again, since the app was crashing in some scenarios.
This is now fixed (Hopefully all crashes were found).
Update 2012/01/14:
A bug was fixed where Recurring Appointments/Tasks were missed, and in some cases were not shown.

[APP]SendReceiveAll v.1 - Synchronize all email accounts in one click

Hey Fellows,
SendReceiveAll is just a small program that i created for my own use. In default Windows Mobile client, if you have multiple email accounts and they are set to manual download, like it is with me, While checking mail you need to go to each account and click send and receive. This is a bit tedious.
SO this program, which is a small, no-gui, .net cf app does so. It calls send and receive for all outlook email accounts. This way you can tap it once and then wait for your emails to finish loading at their own pace.
Its a very simple start and i haven't done anything profound with it. Its just an idea that clicked me.
Suggestions and Ideas are welcome from all of you
Thanks!
UPDATE : Here is the link to cab file for this utility. I haven't tested it so cant say about how reliable it is. Thanks to post&telecommunications to make and post it
SendRecieveAll v.1 Cab File
PS: It seems that this doesn't works if you have multiple IMAP accounts. The problem I think happens because IMAP accounts cannot be updated in "Background, Asynchronously". So If thats the case with you, I am sorry, I don't have any solutions right now. I will see if anything can be done about it
Thanks. Works like a charm
Glad to know that you found it useful
Yeah, I've found it a bit tricky to check all my accounts.
For further development, is it possible that you can implement a progressbar that shows, when an account is ready and maybe a dialog that shows how many emails are downloaded per account?
Yeah, I was also having these things in my mind right at the time of developing this version and i am working on these. Actually the method i use to call the sync facility of messaging application is not synchronous , ie. my app doesnt get to know when did the messaging app finished. It gets control back immediately. So i'll have to find a better way to do that. Thanks for the suggestion
Manilla sync data
Thanks for the progy! It would be nice to have this integrate with the Manila "Sync Data" button under settings, Currently this only works for syncing Activesync, but the description does say "and Internet data"
Is any software for Send only?
Is any application for Pocket Outlook, when I want only Send (not Send and Receive)?
Nice application - some suggestions
Great little application! I’ve been wanting something like this for ages – I didn’t want to set my mail accounts to send and receive every 10 or 30 minutes, I wanted them to sync when I picked up the phone and pressed a button – now I can do it without going to my gmail, yahoo, hotmail and Exchange Server pages separately!
As others have pointed out – having something that said mail account 1 of 4 synchronising would be good for progress – at the moment I don’t know whether I’ve got no emails or it hasn’t worked correctly.
If you are going to end up adding options to this, then auto disconnecting the data connection when all mail boxes are synchronised would save me another button press!
Making it work directly from send/receive in Manila is a great suggestion from ‘anothersmith’ – in the mean time I can’t get it to assign to the programs tab in Manila or via Hbutton – it doesn’t pick it up…..?
Good work.
Splelling errror!!
The reason I'm struggling to get the Hbutton to assign via the registry is that the .exe file is spelt incorrectly!
You've got it as SendRecieveAll.exe
Hbutton thread that shows registy values if anyone wants it for now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=306794&page=2
Usefull application...thanks lot..
By the way ...i got problem coz im use diferent network (3g ,home and wifi)..i should sett the smtp manually before clickthis
great effort
Hi Friends,
Sorry for delay in response i was out of town Thanks for all the great responses. So i guess these are the changes i should try to implement :
1. Visual Notification of the progress and optional data disconnection at the end.
2. Integration with Manilla Sync.
3. Option to send only.
@brandall: If you add a sound to "New Email" notification in Start>Settings>Sounds and Notifications applet, you will recieve a standard notification from the messaging app about the newly recieved emails automatically. I get it on my phone.
@all: Since i only have a HTC Gene at my disposal, i cannot experiment with TouchFlo 3D features. I guess you people are talking about the sync button on tf3d, right? So can anybody tell me the integration procedure for touchflo 3d, i mean the registry keys and all.
I have 3 IMAP accounts, but it only sends/receive the last one
By the way, your app is a great idea!
I have exactly the same. 6 IMAP and it sends / receives only the last one.
Idea is great. Please correct the problem.
Oh, i didn't test it on imap, and i just returned from a long tour. I will look into it asap.
I think that the solution is to make the application aware of the synchronization status on outlook, which apparently can't send and receive from different IMAP accounts at the same time..
But it's only a personal hypothesis since I don't have the foggiest idea of how to program.
it will be greate to make gui with send/recive all... sen all ... recive alll
Hi Great app
one question, can run background? or hiden whith screen off?
i use another app to trigger the send/recieve mail by sms.
thanks
Hey Krazy - any update on this?
The original version I have still gets used every day for me!
great work however I removed .net due to memory restrictions on my xv6700 is there anyway to get the source so we can try to get this recompiled in c that way all devices could use your wonderful program. thank u again for listening
thank you for this wonderful piece of work.

[POLL] which new app is most desired by YOU?

Please read these 5 ideas I have and then make a vote to the app you would love to use the most and would most likely donate towards serious (and opensource!) development. If you are unclear about anything, please ask before voting! Thanks.
1. Better FaceBook Sync - like BookSync, but instead of being restricted to Facebook's ToS it would use the html interface to additionally sync these infos:
* Sync all friends photos with captions tags and comments for offline browsing.
* Phone numbers
* Email addresses (yes, I am aware it's a .gif)
* Addresses
* Facebook Events (and Friends' events)
* as well as profile pics (high res), date of birth (for birthday reminders), name (girls who marry update on your phone instantly)
* option to only silently sync when using wifi (and of course, only updates get pulled down)
2. Better Lock - replace the default WM 6.x security lock feature where you enter a PIN every 24 hours or so, with a much more friendly AND more secure version:
* Incremental Challenge/Response: Have your PIN as 8 or so digits but every 12 hours or so (configurable) it will ask for just 1 digit ("Enter the 4th digit of your PIN"). Enter it wrong and it'll ask for 2 digits now. Wrong again.. 4 digits and so on. Additionally, every 24 hours or so, ask for extra digit.
* While locked, allow for basic functions such as wifi on/off, email/text/call anyone already in address book, turn device off, allow reading of texts that contain a magic password (so owner can communicate with "thief").
* Button to show owner info (incase it's lost) with sub-button to call owners emergency contact number
* 3 invalid attempts = phone texts and calls emergency number and/or integrates with RemoteTracker
3. Better Marketplace - like Microsoft Marketplace and AppToDate merged with improvements
* Microsoft Marketplace requires each dev to upload and maintain thier app (never gonna happen with 100% esp abandoned but still useful apps)
* AppToDate is abandoned? Last update 2008..
* Allow free software only!!!!
* Allow trusted mods to upload apps on behalf of devs, making this BetterMarketplace very comprehensive
* UC compatible & allowing user to record installed apps to our server so after hard reset you can enter user/pass and automagically get all your favourite apps installed
* Compatibility Matrix: only apps that work on your phone are displayed (eg, qvga/vga and wm5/wm6 and so on)
* Popularity Contest: rank apps based on usage in total minutes. This way, only the truly useful apps get to top of list
* Install via web.. using your user account, you can click to install from the Web interface... and your ppc will amazingly start to install it! ppc application interface will exist too ofc.
4. Mobile Proxy - a http proxy on your phone that modifies your web experience via plugins ideas such as:
* Google Maps Mobile - allow supercaching.. which means remember map segments forever on SD card. Perhaps even precaching your area.
* Windows Live Messenger - allow use of MSN when offline. I often turn my phone on/off often and drives friends insane as they see me go offline..online..offline..online. To solve this, this proxy plugin could re-route MSN protocol via our desktop computer so that a) we can sign into multiple locations, something the ppc app doesnt support yet and b) we can receive and view messages we missed while ppc was offline, same for sending msgs could be queued.
* Ad blocker, flash blocker, javascript blocker
* Send custom headers to custom http servers (to fake/force mobile or desktop view per site)
5. Email Redefined - not too sure about my competence to pull this one off though.
Instead of receiving a torrent of email to my device, half of which I don't care about, separate emails into 3 distinct channels:-
1. General crap. When received has no notification, not even a number next to the titanium email plugin.
2. From humans not in my address book. New senders get an instant reply asking them to complete a captcha if they want my mobile to buzz.
3. From friends who are in my address book. I would get a sound played, much like a 'new SMS' sound, and titanium would show "1" next to email.
* If possible with Mobile Outlook, treat facebook inbox-messages as emails.. so buzz, play a sound, and allow reply (via fb).
* If possible (might cost the user), add email push facility whereby the phone receives a hidden SMS text when you have a new email worthy of a beep/buzz, wakes up (but with screen still off and device locked), connects to data (wifi/3g, as configured), gets the email, then beeps/buzzes.
Better Facebook and Marketplace definitely! Those are a must!
Can't decide between Marketplace and Proxy. I LOVE your ideas for marketplace, but I've been wanting to sign into multiple locations since I've had IM on my phone. I hardly ever sign into my IM's because of it. I think I'm going with Marketplace with Proxy being a close second.
Bump (1 of 2).
It would be useful if some of you could post a reply like the above 2 people did too.. as it seems voting in a poll does not bump this thread.. (a forum bug imho). Also useful if anyone can point out competition (free or payware) to each and any of my ideas, unless already mentioned. Thanks!

Better FaceBook Sync all the way......

[APP][8-07-2010] GC Call Logger - CallTrack's features for Windows Mobile

Hello everybody
This is my first post so I'm stressed a bit
Some times ago I had the Android OS on my Kaiser. There was the simple app called CallTrack. This little app can send your call history to selected Google Calendar. I searched similar app for Windows Mobile and I didn't find any, so I decided to make my own solution. That was the beginning of Google Calendar Call Logger. This simple app does the same as CallTrack.
Main features:
- Storing Google login (email) and password (both encrypted with simple algorythm)
- Retrieving and storing calendars from Google account (links for calendars are encrypted too)
- Automatic loading call history to main screen
- Updating Google calendar with new call history's items
The last function is most interesting. GC Call Logger retrieves all your log items stored in phone and shows them on main screen. For each of them GC checks if it exists in destination calendar and sends them if it not, so there are no duplicates.
I use the Google API to communicate with Google servers. This API contains several libraries, that must be in the same folder with main exe file (libraries are included in CAB installer).
[Updates]
8-07-2010 - initial version (1.0)
[Bugs]
- Incompatible with landscape mode (it will be added in next version (I hope )
- no exe icon (I was to lazy to made some )
- probably compatible only with QVGA devices (of course that is no problem if somebody likes scrollers )
- strange selection of active calendar (don't set as active more calendars as once, app allow it but only first will be synchronized).
- too slow
My first contact with this API was 2 days ago, so there are more bugs, I think. Don't hestitate to tell me about them.
[System requirements]
- Windows Mobile 5.0 and more (compiled for 5.0 but tested on 6.5)
- .NET CF 3.5
- QVGA device
- about 330KB free storage space
- internet connection
App is free. It can be installed on Storage Card or in main memory.
Perfect, perfect idea! Im looking for this app for long time!

How do you file an official bug report?

There appears to be a design flaw with ICS (and possibly Android in general) which I need to report, I am unsure if old versions do this.
Long story short, when you set up a new Android device it will auto recover all your applications from previous / other devices.
You can cancel this operation half way through there's an X and it says "X Stop 23" for example (stop 23 remaining downloads for this recovery)
You can then un-install many applications which already had installed which you didn't want on this new device.
An unknown amount of time later the phone starts downloading ALL the applications again and forgets that you not only stopped but also specifically un-installed them.
The best analogy I can think of is the Outlook / Outlook Express POP3 issue, if a mail send receive / retreival is cancelled it starts all over again, causing duplicate mails, it never marks the mail as received (and deletes from server) until the process is finished entirely.
Same thing here.
This is causing me to be stuck in a complete loop activating an Android phone with a smaller partition than some of my other Android phones.

Pocket Outlook 2003 hast gone Kaputt !

I have a strange problem here, haven't seen it mentioned yet on the forums.
Calendar: creating and editing appointments gives "An unexpected error has occurred in this program".
Tasks: when I create a new task, it appears OK, but if I close and restart Tasks, the changes vanish! When I tick-off a task, I get the error "No program memory available".
Contacts: creating or editing contacts gives "No program memory available"
I am able to view entries without problems, but completely unable to create or edit...
There is plenty of memory available, 25MB storage + 50MB program. All other applications working ok, including Notes.
I have guessed that the problem might be in the Outlook databases.
I have tried:
1. Soft reset - no change
2. Restoring ROM backup - no change
3. Deleting the ActiveSync partnership and overwriting the device databases - no change
4. Hard reset - fixes the problem, But comes back as soon as I restore from ActiveSync backup. Sadly the only backups I kept were after the problem arose.
5. Deleting the Outlook databases using PHM PowerToys - but half of them I couldn't get rid of because "another application was using them", though apparently nothing else was running. Deleting the ones I could gave no change.
I DON'T want to do a hard reset and start again from scratch, because I lose a lot of data that will be hard to restore. E.g. a few very important progs that I haven't got the installers for, my SMS messages, the phone call history + timers, GPRS and network settings, and a huge number of program configurations, including photo contacts database, transcribe settings etc. (don't know of a way to back these things up).
I have an XDA2 (Himalaya/xscale/128MB) running PocketPC Windows Mobile 2003 Phone Edition. Please help! :x ผลบอลสด
