My girlfriend's phone was rooted with stock ROM and she allowed it to update. It bricked to the black screen. I fixed it by pushing Bionix 1.9 via adb and installing with clockwork recovery. The problem is now that when playing music (either through music player or pandora) it freezes to a black screen and reboots after several minutes. Any Ideas???
I am planning on restoring to stock with OLIN and putting a custom ROM on at some point to see if it resolves.
Is there anyway to rule out a hardware issue, or do you all think it is related to the update?
Is there anyway to install the old audio drivers, assuming that the update had new drivers (or what ever the Linux driver equivalent is)?
Thanks
Andrew
Can't say for sure that this will work, but might do the trick.....

Hi, I finally decided to post my question after many hours searching trough google and xda.
Two weeks ago like many of you I uptdated my x10 to pre-rooted 2.3.3 stock Rom. At this moment I successfully tested wifi hotspot and usb tethering built in fonctions.
But Recently I tried to use it again but any time I checked the option, Android activate it for a second, an then says me "error" under the option name. Usb tehter can't be reactived at all and wifi hotspot can be checked but always uncheck himslef with the error subtitle.
Anyone facing this issue or know where it can come from ? And maybe the fix of course ^^.
Hope I made my self clear because actually I'm french.

I use Baracle to solve the issue with wifi tethering
https://market.android.com/details?id=net.szym.barnacle&feature=search_result
Yeah this is the solution I used to adopte when was on 2.1. And it was the best until the update.
But as far as what I tested when built-in tether worked it's clearly better. Not just an Ah-hod network but a real hotspot. Basically it's easier for other devices to connect and remember the password without configuring everything especially on windows.
And the usb option was even better, nothing to configure, no password, battery charging during tethering.
Anyway thank for the advice, until I get the solution I'll probably continue to use this app.
When you say "solve the problem with wifi tethering", do you mean you have the same one ?

Please, no one else, am I the only one facing the issue ? Even on an other device maybe ?
Finally I used SEUS to repare and root it like azazu said. Everything is back. Didn't find any other solution

I have the same problem and it never has been working from the start ! but USB tethering has no problem. The only way to fix it is to re-flash ?
Well I guess this is the best until someone more expert than us find a solution. I made a reparation with SEUS (sony ericsson update service) and then restore all back with Titanium Backup. Remember to save your contacts and sms before (cause Titanium doesn't). It only took one hours to get it all back just like before (root, bravia, Xloud, fps uncap...)
Hotspot error UNSOLVED 2012-02-01
Here's what I've done so far. I've suffered from this issue on two different Samsung Galaxy TAB's 7" (1 generation), two different Samsung Galaxy S2, two different HTC Desire HD, one ZTE Blade.
This issue is NOT caused by:
*Manufacture of phone
*Internet Service Provider (ISP)
*Operator
*Bluetooth ON/OFF
*root ON/OFF
*Stock Kernel
*Mod Kernel
*Stock Rom
*Mod Rom
*Stock Modem
*Mod Modem
*Android version: 2.3+ has this issue. (I've experienced a different issue on 4.0+; the Hotspot is up running although no device can connect to it.)
The only solution I've found is:
(From Clockwork Recovery):
Wipe Data(system reset)
Wipe Cache
Wipe Dalvik
Format Cache
Format Data
Format System
-Install a Rom (try a different one from what you are using right now).
Reboot
RESULT:
Hotspot working fine....for a while..
When it stops working; you'll have to do the steps above again. Install a different ROM, now you probably can return to your previously ROM which had this issue first. It will probably work. If it doesn't, switch ROM till you find one that works. Sometimes, total randomly; you will be able to use ROMS which this issue has been present earlier.
Yet, this is NOT a permanent solution. You will, no exceptions, experience this issue, on whatever ROM, modem, kernel, stock, not stock, phone, whatever, whatever you choose.
Here's one scenario which I couldn't figure out:
Galaxy TAB 7" 1st generation.
Android 2.3.4

I've also noticed that USB tethering is affected by this issue aswell.
If you have it working, congratulations! Use it while it lasts, nothing stays forever.

Hi Guys,
I got a HM1000(Smaung) bluetooth headset. My galaxy S2 came with KF3(I am located in India).
After that i tried non wipe ROM like Litepro4.2 and it was working.
Then i decided to get brave and tried a host of other WIPE ROMS like Batista,MIUI,CheckROM but my bluetooth HS would not be recognized. Other bluetooth services are okay
Currently I have fallen back to LitePro in which it works again(Restored from backup in CWM). Am i missing something?what is the issue here?
PS: I tried to get back to KF3 (had to wipe otherwise bootloop) and it still does not work after wipe.
Hi
I have searched this forum and Google and not found any information that helps with this issue.
I would be grateful if anyone could help. I have XEU unbranded S2. I have put the official ICS on through Odin, then closed Odin and checked in Kies - It recognises the phone and the software as the correct versions - great. A screenshot of the version number is attached.
I have a LG network drive that has Twonky Server on it and music and videos. On Gingerbread I could watch them on my phone through AllShare built in app. Now when I try and watch them it states that all the files are unsupported formats. Nothing has changed except ICS update.
I had this problem before with a Gingerbread increment and had to 'roll back' to the earlier software version as I couldn't get it to work.
Anyone have a similar problem - or even better, a fix?
try factory reset.
Hi
I tried teh factory reset and it made no difference. Anyone any other ideas or solutions?
I have had a friend with a Galaxy S running 2.3.6 round. He is able to access the media and it plays through the built in AllShare app from my drive. Is amyone else having this problem on ICS?
Ok so I bought a second hand s2 on a stock firmware then I flashed it with cyanogenmod 9. I then bought a mhl to HDMI cable and upon further info found out that cyanogenmod don't support mhl and apparently I needed a touchwiz rom, so I flashed a rom called chameleon and Viola my cable worked. I then looked into the multiwindow feature and decided to move to a rom with mhl and multiwindow support so I chose a rom called alliance rom. Everything seemed fine and then my data wasn't working for some reason, so I contacted my carrier (giffgaff) and they said they have blocked my data as the IMIE I have has been used before on multiple accounts for data abuse, I explained I have not done this but they said they would not remove the bar. I thought something was odd about this and upon further inspection I realised since I flashed my s2 my IMIE has changed to a weird 0049 number, I looked this up on Google and it says that this IMIE is a generic one and is caused by flashing sometimes. A lot of property seemed to have the same problem. As a solution to try and get my normal IMIE back I tried flashing back to a stock rom via recovery which has ended up bricking my s2 and I can't access recovery, only download mode. As this was the case I thought I'm gonna have to use Odin on the laptop to install stock rom but now I'm faced with a new problem. My PC wont install the Samsung USB modem, I have tried installing kies mini, installing the Samsung device drivers, installing pdanet al just to get the Samsung USB modem to install but it just doesn't. I've spent all day installing, rebooting, uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling to no avail. So now I'm stuck with a laptop that can't read my s2 and forced to use my Samsung mini for internet and Downloading on a data plan (lucky its unilimited). Can anyone help me. Thanx in advance.
Honestly, to get this done as easily as possible, try another PC (and use paragraphs; attempting to read what you've posted was nightmarish & I almost didn't bother).
