hello all,
i have a problem, my xperia neo don't remember the icons layout, everytime i reboot a phone the icons will appear in disorder, not in my favourite sort, and is not a problem about sort preference.
what can i do' someone have my same problem?
i have doomkernel 9 and stock rom 2.3.4.
i think all is started after i've touched something with titanium back up, but i don freezed any process, only SE stock program...
thank you all
try using a different launcher ex : launcher pro
Backup sony Ericsson Home with Titanium Backup and restore Data Only after reboot.
This is not a solution, just a fix. Maybe someone else knows what the real problem is.
Mayby you moved your iconpack to sdcard?

Hi, I'm a noob, and I just saw the really easy way to install the black status bar. I really like it, and I'm going to install it. But, if I do it now. When 2.1 is released will it disapear, or will it wipe my phone or anything?
Easy answer is we don't know for certain but I expect when 2.1 is released it will factory reset the phone so you will prob lose it
P.s I haven't seen that thread, anyone point me in the right direction?

You'll loose everything on your phone ( excluding the SDcard data ) ... Its a major platform update and you'll get a fresh phone like when you got it in the first place!
All you have to do before the update is - Use your backup software ( i prefer the inbuilt backup and restore ) to backup all your data and settings..
Good Luck
ok i had a xperia x10 and it went for a swim. the sim and sd card are ok as they are now running in my galaxy s (couldnt get another x10). i did a backup using the sony ericsson backup and restore software. tried loading it on the galaxy (the apk file was on the memory card) but no joy. i have found the backup i made and all i am really after is the contacts. any help would be appreciated!
How big is the apk? Did it save the backup as an apk file or is the apk the software itself to restore the data? I suggest syncing contacts with google next time so this won't really be an issue but if you can give me some info (I'm unfamiliar with the backup tool you used) I might be able to help.
i used the sony ericsson backup utility when i went from 1.6 to 2.1 (the one you get from the sony ericsson update service). the backup file is a .sbf and i tried running the .apk file on the galaxy but it didnt load

it definately will NOT run on any phone other than a SE phone. your only hope is to find someone else with an x10, pop your sd card in their phone, restore the files to their phone and then sync with google. the joys of using proprietry software. another reason why se are jokes. sorry man, but its not looking too good.
luck one of the girls at work has a x10. i was hoping a developer might see it as a challange!
Before I start, I've been looking around the forums for the past 2 days and I couldn't find a definitive answer so I made and account and decided to post this
This is my first time trying to install a custom ROM. I'm trying to install the CM6 Froyo ROM and I'm a bit unsure of which version to download and how to install the hotfixes. I have xRecovery installed and a backup of the stock ROM and I'm not really sure where to go from there. If someone could give me a quick guide and explain which version to pick and how to install hotfixes I would be really grateful
I have the Mini Pro with 2.1.1.A.0.6 FW and the M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 baseband.
Thanks in advance.

This ROM is for the Mini Pro only
10. After you have your apps and data back make a new xrecovery backup and start checking overclocking, undervolting and optional fixes.
9. Reboot into xrecovery and make a backup of your new rom. Then you can start reinstalling your applications and restoring data.
8. Follow instructions in this post to adjust keyboard light and after you're done reboot again.
Keyboard Light and Automatic Display Info: Please see here
7. Reboot. First boot takes a long time. Be patient. When the new rom is up, i suggest you navigate to cm settings - performance settings - cpu settings and check max cpu frequency. If it is more than 600mhz, lower it to 600 until you finish setting up you phone. You can test higher values and undervolting later when everything is done. Reboot again.
6. Choose install custom zip, find folder with downloads and install this hotfix.
MiniCM v3.0 | [HOTFIX] Build.Prop fixed thanks to Kewie
5. Choose install custom zip, find folder with downloads and install this hotfix.
MiniCM v3.0 | [HOTFIX] Hacked Market thanks to shokmah and WLAN Hotfix thanks to bitmovel!!
4. Again choose install custom zip, find folder with downloads and install this hotfix.
MiniCM v3.0 | [HOTFIX] Incoming Call Slider fixed
3. Choose install custom zip and navigate to the folder with your downloaded zips. Install rom.
MiniCM v3.0 MD5: 670EBE1826A66645A08437F190466E2A
2. Boot into xrecovery and do a factory reset to wipe everything (data, cahce, etc)
1. Backup your apps and data with titanium bacup.
0. Download version 3 rom and hotfixes from links in the steps above. Write down the names of the files. Print out instructions from step 8.

Here is how i do it. Read from bottom up.
That was exactly what I needed thank you! I will let you know how I get on
EDIT: Also just before I begin, I have a backup of my sms + contacts etc from the stock SE Backup and Restore app. Will this work on this ROM or what are my options? (I reflashed my phone to stock FW using SEUS so everythings gone, I only have the .sbf backup on my PC)
I'll wait for a reply before I flash this ROM 'cos I don't want to have done it only to find out I have to revert to stock to get all my contacts and messages back :/ lol
EDIT: Anyone?
I don't remember if this rom has se backup&restore app installed, but i think you can download it from se website.
Edit: I haven't used it, because i always keep my contacts on sim card and i didn't need to keep messages.
If you make an xrecovery backup of your se rom before you start installing custom rom, and then find out that you can't get you contacts&messages back, you can always use that backup to come back to se rom and it will have those contacts and messages.

I read somewhere that the apk won't install since it's not an official SE ROM? :/ So I'm not sure what to do. Anyone able to confirm or disconfirm this? If not, is there any other way to back it up before I install it?

Backup contacts using the stock backup option in the 'contacts' then backup sms using the 'sms backup and restore app' from market. Then flash new rom and install the sms backup app again and hit restore. I don't know if wil work because I only have the mini not the mini pro
Sorry for bad english

Ok, so I've flashed the custom ROM about 10 times now trying to get backups and messages accross lol. I got it to work, but 4500 messages being imported at once was causing some serious issues so I've just decided to leave the messages and I used a vCard backup to save my contacts and import them again . I understand a lot of stuff now about various things with ROM's Thanks to both of you for your help, it has really helped me get started
Great you managed to install it! Enjoy it!
The process for new roms coming with CWMrecovery shouldn't be too different, if you ever want to try those.
Thanks! Right now I think I'll stick with this ROM for the time being I bought Launcher Pro Plus and Widget Locker as well so I'm going to have some fun customizing this Btw you wouldn't happen to know the name of a widget, it's like a digital clock drawn with like pencils or something. Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9300605&postcount=120
The clock widget?
I think that's beautiful widgets, but ask shivenjuneja, he might have customized it.
Yeah beautiful widgets checked a few screenshots and thats what it was! Also, I don't think shivenjuneja did customize it, I've seen it on a few screenshots looking like that, just no name D: lol Thanks Again!
Edit: Actually! It's weather widgets with the dirty paper skins! :O lol
Edit: Also, he must have edited or got it when it was for beautiful skins because the one now looks crap :/ bit of a waste, but thanks anyway :L
Here's what my phone looks like now
Nice! Great background! Slade has just released v4.0 of this rom that can be installed from xrecovery or cwmrecovery
I think i'll give it a try one of these days.
Thanks! I might give it a try maybe today or after these exams for the next two weeks D:

Push it to system/apps and change permissions to match the permissions of the other apps in there, reboot.
Give me thanks if I helped
Pushed all the widgets and home to system, set perm to 644 and nothing happened. I tried also with Uninstall XPERIA Home.zip option, but neither that helped. I've also experimented and made a nandroid backup, made full wipe, freshly installed minicm 2.2.0, tryed both options for installing, and nothing.

Hello,
I see this for ICS users today: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...+your+device+and+confirm+the+backup+operation
Anyone has tried it on Xperia S or Xperia 2012 phone?
I' d like to backup apps data before downgrading to Gingerbread and upgrading on a rooted ICS!
For me, when I try to backup it says: "Now unlock your device and confirm the backup operation", nothing appears on my Xperia S and the backup file is 0 octets...... ;-(.
Could some one help me?
Or, if someone has a great idea on how backup apps data without root, your welcome.
Thanks a lot.
Schlew
I found a way

where do I get this app for my AT&T Sony Xperia Ion ?
Well, I cant use the stock backup and restore app, since it always fails to backup, no matter what I choose to backup...
So, any solution to the adb problem?
If not, that's also fine; the main thing is that my settings are saved via PC Companion
