I tried to root my SGS2 which worked but now my phone is stuck in airplane mode and the home and left button don't work.
Have you tried installing a new rom?
Which would you suggest? Also, When phone reboots there is yellow triangle with an exclamation point
The exclamation mark means signifies missing recovery or the device didn't follow the correct path to recovery. I would recommended this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1095274 .

Well I think I am going to have to go to the Sprint store. Odin won't recognize the phone. The phone screen has an icon of a phone, the yellow triangle and icon of computer screeen and says Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
Kies does not recognize a phone is connected.

I tried to update my I9100 simply by checking for updates on phone. Everything was going fine but when i downloaded OS and it said that it will reboot now, it had frozen during rebooting. Now I can't enter recovery mode but download mode works proper. When I turn on It's just black screen of death and "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again" However Kies doesn't connect with it. It says that It has connection issues. I have rooted S2 with 4.1.1 OS and jeboo kernel 1.2.

Make sure you have correct drivers installed and usb debugging option is on, after widows loads all drivers when phone is connected disconnect phone using safely discoonect device and do a reboot and then after restart try again, also check your firewall and antivirus is not blocking the connection to phone.
Flash stock and go back to custom.
And please stop trying to update your device thru kies while you're actually on custom. Those two don't get along to well.

Okay, so yesterday I flashed a Gummy 4.4 rom nightly and went to boot into Recovery to flash a different ROM and this pop occurred "System software authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on you phone." I know I have to use Odin to return to stock but my phone isn't showing up in Odin. The yellow bar doesn't show up and I've installed the Samsung USB drivers for my phone but I can't for the life of me make my phone show up in Odin. Please help. I'm also on windows Vista if that's causing the problem.

What tar file are you trying to flash? If it ends in "gz" then you have to use Odin 3.07 or better ( gz files have to be uinzipped first). If the file ends in "md5" then an earlier version will work. You are putting your phone in Download Mode" correct? Hold the volume down button and power button at the same time. Don't release until you see the yellow triangle. Volume up then you should be ready to flash.
It's because you have to flash a 4.4 kernel with the ROM before you boot.

Hi,
my Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 wont turn on, its stuck on "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, use Kies...".
Recovery mode wont work, cant connect to Kies because phone wont turn on, only thing it works is Odin.
I can enter Download mode.
I have tried:
1) Installed new stock rom with Odin, it says PASS in Odin, no errors, but again i cant turn on the phone, only black screen and "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, use Kies...".
2) Installed new Kernel with CWM in ODIN, it says PASS, but still cant get to Recovery mode and problem still exist.
3) Installed new ROM after Kernel, and everything pass great in ODIN, and when i try to turn on phone or Recovery mode, it just vibrates once.
And when i connect with USB it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, use Kies...".
I have tried different Kernels for this phone, different ROMs, different Computer, different USB cable, and problem still apear.
I dont know what to do ?
Download mode working, Odin works fine, but still when i try to turn on Phone, it vibrates and black screen, and when connect to PC it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, use Kies...".
Still cant get Recovery mode to work.
Also tried to connect with adb, adb cant see phone. Only Odin can recognize phone on COM port.
Is there something else to do ?
Thank you.
I am new to rooting, today i tried my first root through Odin on my galaxy s2 I9100. I believe I downloaded the correct kernel after I checked it under 'about' on my phone etc, and I downloaded and installed the samsung drivers, as well as kies, however when I connected my phone to Odin after entering download mode, the 'ID:COM' was not yellow as it should be - (without knowing this was wrong) i continued with the root anyway and it eventually finished on 'reset'. Without really knowing what to do I disconnected my phone and tried resetting it, after which Odin displayed 'pass' however now when I try to reboot my phone it just displays the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark and will not boot at all. I can still enter download mode but simply cannot boot my phone.
If anyone knows where I have gone wrong and what I need to do to root my phone properly that would be of great help, if not please could someone suggest how I can completely restore the phone back to its previous settings (as it is not my phone!!!) I am not fussed about the root count or if it still displays the yellow triangle, i just want it to fully boot or even better be rooted.
What kernel did you use?
Do not worry. I have encounter same problem. what I have done is download original update from sammobile and by using odin 1.85 i have install it. so try it.
hey,
so i recently had my s7 edge fixed because of the green and purple stripes problem.
since i got it back i wasn't able to update it and the phone was pretty laggy i tried updating it with smart switch and when it completed the download i got a blue screen telling me "installing system updates" then suddenly a dead android appeared with an exclamation mark and i was booted into recovery mode.
no matter how many times i reset or reboot i get the same triangle and get booted into recovery mode and i can only access recovery mode and odin mode.
my device won't start up at all.
please help!?
ps:
i tried flashing the phone with odin many times with the latest software for my phone version from sammobile and the same thing happened over and over.
