[Q] problem with phone number in settings

hi i was wondering if anyone has had the same problem or if anyone knows what to do., in settings-about phone-status-my phone number my number appears as 00000000, when i go to my contacts it has myself at the very top with 00000000 as my number but it has the right email address, when i try to edit it theres nothing to edit, when i add a field and put the right number in it still shows 00000000 in the contacts and in the phone status.
thanks in advance

mine was like this i reflashed it and sorted the problem but i was coming for 62 on tmobile to world generic 67
You could try a fresh install of 67 that might cure it
how do i re-install the firmware?
all sorted thanks. iwent to pc companion and after trying to update it gave me an option to repair the software, it basically reset my phone back to factory but all is good. thanks for the replys.
I have fimiliar "issue". When I ordered phone, I had to take it with new number. Next day I have ported my old number from old contract and everything was fine, but I have noticed that in About phone section it still showing mobile number that came with phone. Same in phone book. Reflashed it, but still no joy. Like I said, no really an issue, but strange. I think it is due to SIM card.
That's correct, it is read from the sim card and then stored.

[Q] Problem with my Galaxy S3

Hey guys, hopefully someone here can tell me what is wrong with my phone
Basically i cannot make any calls or texts with my phone, when i try to make a call it comes up "not registered on network" this only started happening yday
I can use the internet, maps etc without wifi so it is just a calling/texting problem i have
Also my sim works in my brothers iphone 4 so no problem with the sim
I contacted o2 who have said that there is no problem at their end, my account is not barred, the IMEI of the galaxy is fine, so there are no restrictions
I have done a full reboot of the phone and also made sure airplane mode isnt on
I just dont know what is wrong with my Galaxy S3
Any ideas???
Try different SIM, see if it works.
Try to re-register to your network and select gsm/wcdma auto
Settings > settings / wireless & networks > more settings > mobile networks > network mode ...... AND network operators > select your carrier
Also, if you have no signal strength, re-check to make sure your Sim is properly inserted

I was using Go sms and tried sending from stock message app when Go sms wouldnt sed it
Le8 is a crappy firmware, wait for an update though kies..
Or if u KNOW how to flash, then change to lf2 that a good firmware.if u don't know how to flash then read on how-to,there are lots of guides here on xda and utube
I had the same issue and it is related somehow to the CSC not being detected/installed correctly after flashing a new ROM.
I have spent hours and after flashing the latest UK generic ROM from the stock O2 one I had the same messages issues and Kies would connect.
After pressing x#1234# I saw the CSC was unknown and so I flashed back the O2 CSC and everthing started to work correctly. Then I have reflashed the latest UK unbranded ROM and after pressing pressing x#1234# the CSC showed correctly.
DO NOT WIPE RIPARTITION/ DELETE ALL DATA otherwise it will somehow cause the phone to set the CSC as unknown and then the messages error will come back.
After reistalling Kies for a few times it fininally decided to work, or may be it like the CSC?? Kies however does not let me upgrade firmware for some reason but at least I can sync my contacts
I have then changed the CSC to the correct UK Generic BTU (UK):
1.Just type *#272*Device IMEI# at Phone dial pad.
2.Select the CSC that you want.
3.Click Install.
4.Phone will be rebooted by itself.
5.That’s all.
Afterword I have run a software update from the phone and it upgraded to the latest firmware, kies confirmed it too

Is there any method to do hard reset if the phone was locked? Because i'm not able to reach to the home screen as my phone is locked in a screensaver mode. It only said "Try again in xxxxx minutes" and I need to wait for the countdown to continue using my phone again.

I don't have any RSPL/HSPL installed yet. I'm using a stock ROM. I've just plan to installed the RSPL/HSPL, but since it is locked I can't do anything to my phone accept receiving a call.

[Q] Updated to stock 4.3 Then.....

Hi,
Idiot here, I was quite annoyed at the stock 4.3 update, I decided to root and install a Rom on my phone, how wrong I was, I subsequently stayed up late at night, without finding an answer to why the phone was not being able to register on my network.
I found out that the IMEI number issue, so my question is, if I re-install 4.3 and load up my phone via kies with my back up, will this work?
Or has anyone got any suggestions?
Much Appreciated
Nothing worked

Idiot 2 here
I did the same mistake.
I have upgraded the phone to the above mentioned firmware, still I am unable to make calls / send message. Whenever I try to make a call - receiving an error message "Not registered to Network". When I try to search for networks I was able to find the network and register to it, receive a message confirming the sim is registered to the network. But within a fraction of second I see emergency calls only popup.
Installed modem file from sd card - Didn't work
Downgraded to a stock firmware - Didn't work
Followed the sammobile thread - 14253
Nothing worked. I am using my phone now to play games now
Tried getting a new sim card from a different carried (go-phone) that didnt work too.

Problem with my phone (firmware)

Hello Guys. I have a SAMSUNG (WCDMA) galaxy S II GT i9100 (CMIIT ID: 2011CP2751)
Is from Koreea, original device. I rooted this phone using odin, i flashed a european firmware, because on his original firmware i had restrition on apps. Recently, i gave him hard reset (wipe data factory reset, wipe cache) and after rebooting,he shows me the steps for configuration (language, wifi, samsung account, etc) and at this time it rebooting and is stuck on samsung logo. Now i have to flash again but i don t know baseband version. I downloaded a firmware and shows me FAIL when i flashed with odin. I need this baseband version. Cand i find if i know the IMEI ? or can anybody help me?
I think you can find 'the best match' using chimera software which has sort of a firmware search for your phone's serial (11 characters long).
Your phone serial should be under your battery, somewhere near the IMEI.
If you want to use chimera, after you've registered, logged into the software and all that annoying stuff connect your phone, and after it gets recognized go to "Firmware Update" and complete the "serial number" field press "Autodetect latest" and it should give your some sort of a match. At least that worked for me.
Or PM me with the serial if you want to skip all the registering stuff because I already have a working account.
