[Q] Phone wont boot past Boot screen - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Had been using Cyanogen Mod and Siyah kernel. Decided to reboot and the phone got stuck at the ! Insecure kernel stage and woudln't go into rcovery.
Went into Download mode and flashed my O2 stock firmware via Odin. Boots part the intial stage and now its stuck at the animation of the S with SGS2 at the bottom and doesn't go any further than that.
Any suggestions would be great.

ur-root then re-root it

Did you see the sticky thread from pulser_g2 about bootloops where in he says "Dont post a new thread if you get bootloops"?

I second this.
Yes, that thread have helped me to get out of the boot loop situation.
If you did a backup before, you're good.
If not you will lose your data, but still, you get your phone to work again

[Q] Need Advice Please

I just installed pershoots kernal on my Tab 10.1 I/O with 3.1 touchwiz and as the device boots it gets past the "galaxy tab 10.1" screen then all random lines of color across the screen. The only thing I can do now is turn it off and watch the battery meter. Tried powering on again; same result. Did I brick it? Using the Clockworkmod from the Market is the only way I can boot into recovery to install .zip files. I hope someone out there has some good news for me? Yes, I'm a dumba**.

Reflash recovery using ODIN as if you were rooting your device for the first time and then flash Pershoot's other kernel. You flashed the wrong one (there are two).
The lines you saw are mentioned many times in his thread. Also, read the threads and find your answers there, rather than opening a question thread in the development section.
nobnut's right should be in general section
before your thread gets moved to there here's what you need
Recovery install thro odin http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1150732

Hello, noob. Wouldn't it be easier if you'd read the bolded, stickied thread instead of being an annoying noob?

If you have recovery then wipe everything and reboot then pull the battery for 20min. and try to flash an originall firmware.Otherwise go to the sticky threads and read the posts on as advised on how to unbrick. If you have recovery then you should beable to get it working again yourself. Also see if you can flash Lightning ROM to recover it.Works for a lot of people.
If you can access download mode then you only need to flash to unbrick it

Brick!

I flashed a new rom and a new kernel (XXLPQ) and it resulted in KERNEL PANIC.
There was no way to get to recovery even after flashing CF-Root.
I then flashed the latest official XXLPQ from sammobile but again I get a bootloop.
Should I have used re-partition?
Is my phone worthless now?
If it goes into Bootloader Mode, then it is not bricked.
There is a very informative thread at the top of this forum about bootloop - read there.

[Q] Help me I bricked my SGH-i717R

Hi I tried to root my phone using this method ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1504218 ) and it left my phone stuck on the reboot. I then tried to flash the stock kernel via odin, and when that didn't work I flashed cwm via odin and then a rogers kernel through cwm and it is still stuck on the rogers logo.......?
could someone help me......?

I see your post count and realize you cannot post in the development section yet. that should not however stop you from reading. maybe you have but you may not have read the whole thread. i know that may seem like a daunting task, it is for me. so what I o is go to the most recent post or last page and start reading backwards. that way I get the most up to date information even on an older thread as you are referring to.
if you did that you would have seen a post from AGOATTAMER.
http://rootgalaxynote.com/galaxy-note-i717-roms/how-to-root-att-galaxy-note-sgh-i717-icsgingerbreadeasiest-method/
this is also the method I used. believe me, if I can pull it off, anybody can.
more tips..............
make sure you have all the files you need
rehearse the process
I know it sounds crazy, but these phones aint cheap and if you mess it up, can be pretty screwed.
so what is more valuable???? your phone or acting crazy and talking to yourself for a few minutes.
if you can still get download mode, your good, no brick
good luck
You flashed an older incompatible kernel with a newer ROM, but I guess you know that now. Flash the stock ROM found here using odin.

Go into recovery after install and do a factory reset. Then start over. Many have used the link that captemo has mentioned. There are newer versions of recovery than the one listed on that site but it will get you rooted. Look at this thread also. Since you are installing the stock ROM via odin you will not have to deal with the script mentioned here.

Just flash twrp with Odin, don't reboot into android, not directly into recovery after the flash finishes...
In recovery wipe data/factory reset.
When you go to boot it'll see you're not rooted and ask if you want to.
The easiest method to root.
