So lately i changed my SD card in my device to a Samsung 32GB and when I transfered all my song, later I noticed on the music player that many of the artist are missing.
when I went to check what's going on, I found out many of the folders were been replaced by empty folders that their name starts with the letter "µ".
like for example, the folder "ACDC" became "µCDC".
I tried transferring everything back again facing the same problems with different folders.
I tried doing a factory reset and tried moving the song to the SD card through a card reader, and checked the files were OK before inserting the SD card back into the device and they seemed fined, but after I inserted the SD card I noticed the folders got curropted again.
also before I inserted the SD card there was like 500 MB of free space on the SD card, while after I inserted it suddenly the was like 15 GB of free space, caused by so many data that got deleted.
I don't believe the SD card is damaged, but that my device is messing my things up....
I also remember that I couldn't transfer any video files to the SD Card when it was in the device and could only transfer them into the device's internal memory.
what can I do?
Use the sd formatting tool on your pc to format the card, if still the same then throw it away. It sounds like a fake card, did all the files work while it was in the pc?

All the files have worked while it was on the PC.
I even tried transfering everything via a card reader and everything check allright.
only when I insert it in my device some of the folders get screwd.
I purchased the P780 a few weeks ago. Although I'm happy with the phone there are a few glitches that I cannot seem to find a solution to.
1. Any images or audio files put on the external memory card are not shown in the super gallery photo viewer or google music player.
2. I have selected the external memory card as the default write disk. All the data (Whatsapp downloaded images, videos, etc, documents downloaded from the web browser) are stored on the memory card, but they cannot be seen on the photo viewers or music players etc. If I default the writing disk to the internal memory card, none of my apps installed on the external card are shown in the menu.
Is there any solution to this problem? If not, just tell me. I'll stop looking for the solution and get on with using it as is.
Thank you.
I never have problem with this, I am using 32 GB external micro SD and no problem. Are U talking about storage which has phone only or included SD card?
Add 2. It s normal when U change external to internal storage (or conversely) as default storage, that phone doesnt see the app which was instaled before changing storage, but when when draped as it was originally, it will return back.
U can try use another viewer for image or music from playstore, if U see all images or music, ... If U are using SD card, it must be formated fat32 (not NTFS) or ext2/3/....
And place when U download files U can set in the internet browser properties.
Which ROM on your lenovo are U using?
Thank you. I shall try re formatting it and also look for other viewers/players.
BEFORE RE-FORMATING DO BACKUP of all !
Of course.
Hi I recently updated my xperia z2 phone from 4.4.2 KK to 5.0.2 (23.1.A.1.28) first did the installation without wiping the data but after that i made factory reset both from phone and from Recovery deleting all user data . Before that (i don`t know if that is with the problem) i installed Signature verification allways true patch from Lucky Patcher and after that removed it . Everything is perfect with the phone except the strange issue that happens when i restart or turn off and then turn it on again.
When i do it- first this happens -(the attached image) - it shows all the apps that i moved to the sd card like that with red circle with sd card symbol in the upper right corner and no app icons and after couple of seconds it loads them somethimes, all of them - but somethimes it shows only those which are on internal memory and after a restart it loads them all without a problem but it deletes all the data on the sd card except the app data ( of those which i moved to the sd card with the lolipop function and with Folder Mount). All the pictures, movies, music, e-books and more are deleted but the app data is not ... and the phone is doing that sometimes not all the time. When the Picures, music and so on are deleted i`m putting them back on the sd card again and couple of restarts there is no problem loading the apps or deleting the data on the sd card ... but after that it happens again and deletes my information ... but only pictures books music movies .. . I`m using TDK 32 GB micro sd Fat 32 formated - i tried ntfs but the z2 doesn`t recognises it .. the sd card is tested with H2Testw and its ok and i didnt had any problems, when i was using 4.4.2 KitKat .
Thanks in advance for the help )

When this happens check the SD card in a pc and are the pictures, music etc gone or is it merely a mounting issue? My first thought is that folder mount may be incompletely mounting resulting in the apparent loss of data? Personally I'd be inclined to use either the LP inbuilt move to SD or folder mount but not both as they may be causing conflicts.
Hi there, I have formatted my micro mini sd card a lot of times, a few quick formats and a few hard formats. I've tried to erase all data on sd card is well, still shows files on card. When I view my photos I've captured it comes up like a paint brush brushing over my entire photos grey. Then it says sd card unmounted. If I turn phone off and back on, I go into my gmail to save images and then my images come up corrupted once I view them in my gallery. Takes a while to load. I've tried the regedit stuff, disk management stuff, disk list stuff. Haven't found any of those to work. I have a 32gb mini micro sd card in a Sony Xperia Arc S LT18i. Please help.

Hello.
Seems like the floppy old school problem: the file system corrupted. Something is going bad on the sdcard, have you tried format that sdcard on another device, and try to save images from there? If it keeps doing that error, itˋs the sdcard which is corrupted. If not, the phone. But I wouldnˋt put in risk future files, I would throw away that sdcard. Can get problems in the future.
Saludos.
Hello XDA.
This is my first time to come here and register, i heared that XDA is the best android developers website so i came here to request your help.
Lately i bought Lenovo Vibe S1 that comes with 2 Nano-Sim slots but if i'm going to insert a SD Card then there are 1 Nano-Sim slot.
I have a 4GB SD Card. I inserted it to the phone. The problem here that when i copy/move files to the SD Card it doesn't show in the apps. Like, moving Photos from internal storage to SD Card it doesn't appear in gallery. Same as songs, when i move them from internal storage to SD Card they doesn't show up in 3rd music player apps. Unless i unmount the SD Card from the settings and remount it. But it is a pain to unmount and remount when i move anything to the SD Card.
So, any help to fix this?
PS: I don't want to root, flash or install ROMs to my device.
Thank you for taking your time by reading my thread.
I started a Thread before but it was in the wrong section.
Brother what Android OS has your phone? If it is higher than 5.0 backup your files on the Sd Card and then format your Card in your Phone. After that put the files back on the Sd card. This worked for me on Android 5.1.1.

It is 5.0. Anyways, i will try your method and inform you if it worked. Thank you.
I did the method. It worked in Gallery while moving the photos from Internal Storage to SD Card it appears in gallery. But in ****ing music app it doesn't appear.
Which music app are you using? There is sometimes an issue with apps that don't use the sd-card an option called ".nomedia" filter or something like that is checked. Try to find it in your app and uncheck it. I hope that will work.

I use MusiXMatch. And i check my music in Google Play Music to check that it is not MusiXMatch's problem but the same thing. My music aren't in .nomedia. When i unmount the SD Card and mount it again i see the songs.
