[TUT]Change carrier label in ICS - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Just navigate to;
Cynogenmod Settings > Interface > Status bar tweaks > Carrier label type, change it to "Custom text" > Just under Carrier label type there is "Custom carrier label", tap it change it to whatever you want!

This is only if you flashed Jusada's tweak.

What is jusda's tweak?
Sent from my GT-S5830

Ur right. That option is not there in Grif's Cyanogenmod.

Dont jus say thanks, use d 'THANKS' button. [XDA RULE]

Topic's name changed. I thought it worked in every CM7.

He means jusada's ROM, not tweak.

It is a tweak added to his rom
Anyone who flash the miui battery bar tweak will get this. It requires some lines in systemui and the cmparts.apk to enable that!

Lol nice one.

It's cool though, must to try!

Link?
This thread is a bit confusing, because it has made it sound like this is default in Jusada's ICS Final, however it isn't. The only Carrier Label option in this ROM is to make it Small, which is in every CM7 ROM.
This must be a tweak, and I just so happen to really need it, so does any have a link to a thread or a flashable zip I can use to get this feature? It would be a great help!
Sorry for the bump, but I need this.

Hang on is this cm7.1 themed ics or ics 4.0.3? Because this feature is standard in cm7.2
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium

This option is found in cm7.2 by FAT
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium

No.
No, I'm fairly certain that this option is NOT default in cm7.2 , or there wouldn't be hundreds of threads about issues with carrier labels... and it isn't in Ice Cream Sunday, which is a modified and themed version of cm7.
Oh and for the guy that asked, we are talking about cm7 themed not 4.0.

Flash zip at bottom through recovery like normal. Reboot will take about 5 minutes as this wipes the dalvik-cache. Anyways... enjoy!
Oh, and edits had to be made to the framework.jar for the launcher to work. Framework.jar still supports power menu so there is nothing to worry about as far as breaking other mods.

it means for everyone with a modded power menu, it wont change it.
like if you have a custom rom and hold the power button it has more options like "reboot", "download", etc.
so are we flashing this thru CWM or any other recovery?
EDIT: Oh wow I missed that line in the OP. haha my bad.
After flashing will you be able to switch back to a different launcher if you don't like it? Say using home switcher?
Trigger 3.2
of course you will

-An unknown themed framework that gives a minimalistic look...
-Camera.apk has changed...
-Minimalstic Gapps (Based by temasek)
-BlackICS Keyboard

right, phoenix-android have to be hardcoded because every theme used with
theme apps are slowing down the system:
i try to explain why:
Android have a standard builtin "theme" or "style", a different for Froyo, another for Gingerbread and another for ICS.
Every UI element looks for a "theme"-option other than the builtin, if another theme is found, the element have to
load the new theme resources on the fly when creating the element. this triggers a re-draw on the element and slows
the system because it must be done for every element in the activity, so loading gets slow and even when using the
app: all loaded resources arent cached because the themechooser app stays "on the top" on each application and isnt builtin.
@Dax
Why don't you complete your projects before you start new ones?
What happened to GBS,Sonygenmod?
Also, ICCS needs a stable patcher because their are so many features and apps which have colour overlap and also ADW FC's all over.
I appreciate you trying to start new projects which IMO have loads of potential and currently seems like an awesome idea.
However, i think you should consider finishing the older projects before starting new ones.
Don't take this as a personal hate message or something, but this is just some constructive criticism.

Notification TOP Menu/BAR/Popout

Hello I saw on a friend's phone (LG Optimus, Android 2.3.7 based rom) a special notification menu (the one you activate by sliding from top to bottom): it was white and composed of 2 parts, one for notifications and the other window/part for switches (like wifi, gps, sound...). Have you got any idea what was named and if there is a possibility to install on my ACE? (stock based 2.3.6 ROM) It was awesome and it will help me a lot
Thanks a lot!

Nope. Miui won't run on HTC Hero which has ARMv6 CPU. It's just really heavily themed CM7
I'm gonna try replacing some apks on CM 7.2 and/or 7.1 on my Ace tomorrow. ;-)

Edit 19:32 (GMT+1), 03.02.2012:
LiGux settings apk works fine when installed as normal apk (pushing it to /system/app/ should also work) but it just has links to Android's Settings.apk
Replacing SystemUI.apk/CMParts.apk/framework-res.apk/framework.jar (CM7.2 RC0 upd. 23.01) makes phone not bootable or breaks statusbar. I don't have any idea why (because I'm not into making android apps and porting them ). BUT if someone knows how it shouldn't be difficult to port since LiGux is also a CM7.2 build.
The better solution for ur question is UOT kitchen... U can check the status bar section and move to quick settings tab.. I never tested it.. Hope it might work...

Ottoman Rom Galaxy HD Rom

I've been on the ottoman Rom for a long time now and i really like it but its still buggy. The OP has not been around to update it with New features. The reason i like it is because it has the old settings menu (ie when you click on settings it is the old style not the New ics style).
I don't want to change but i need something up date Thats lagfree does anyone know of any roms that has the old style settings menu.
Thank you
