I've seen info about screen protectors...But no opinions really on if one is necessary.
If I were to get one, I think I'd look for a matte one that helped emulate the feel of writing on paper better. I hope it would be better than a normal glossy protector at least...
Anyway, do I need a screen protector? With the gorilla glass and all? A few days of usage and I see no scratches, so I don't know.
I did read the thread about someone chipping their glass which made me worry.
Thanks!
Compared to the cost of the flyer the cost of a screen protector is negligible. Why wouldn't you get one just for extra protection in case you drop the flyer face down or something like that?

not gorilla glass.
I don't think our flyer is a gorilla glass. just so you know it will scratch,it all depends on when and where. Mine was with the back on the scribe pen. I recommend the matte screen, save yourself the grief.
Do it, the sceen scratches, trust me I know.
I have a matte screen, and love it

I wouldn't worry too much about the scratching. On every device I've had since the original iphone I had no screen protector, and never got a (noticeable) scratch.
BUT
I went to the mall the other day and they had some scammy dudes "installing" screen protectors. Theyd idn't have an view/flyer screen shape, but they put a glaxy tab one on that fit pretty well, and promised me that when they did get the flyer/view screen size the would put that one for no extra charge.
Anyway, I'm in love. It fits on PERFECT because I think they are shrink wrapping it on or something, but it actually makes the stylus USEABLE. It offers a little resistance so it is not like writing on ICE anymore. I love it.
Also, it stays smooth even after I grease it up with my hands. On the bare screen I would always have to wipe it away with my shirt to get a smooth feel.
I'm really enamored wtih the process. The one caveate is I think it voids your warrantee because they get the whole device wet and it might look like you have water damage. This is what my friend was telling me.
I'm currently using zagg screen protector on my 3vo and it doesn't really feel smooth. I wanted to know which protector ya are using to see if I might change

Best one hands down.
I used Ghost Armor on my evo 4g and just put it on my 3d and love it, much better then zagg (smoother) and they send you 2 of them, and if those get messed up they will send you new ones (you pay shipping on new ones, thats it, but you have to send your used ones back w/ supplied delivery method)

Im using the Zaggs smudge finger print resistant version and i like it.
im using SGP antifingerprint/antiglare
I'm using seidio ultimate screen guard. I had it on my evo 4g and liked it. I had the zagg on my 3vo at first but it was too sticky for me. The seidio screen guard is a lot smoother and goes on easily with no bubbles. I recommend it.
Boxwave crystal screen protectors
And boom goes the Shooter...
I also have the seidio but my experience with the application was far different. I guess its possible I got a bad one but there were specs on the back which became air bubbles which I can't remove. I have installed many screen protectors like this one but never had this much trouble. Unfortunately Seidio doesn't stand behind these.
On my original Evo 3D device I had a Zagg Invisibleshield on it. But, after I got a new phone I tried a screen protector simlar to the one in the ebay ad above. Although the actual screen protector I'm using now covers the entire screen, is really smooth, and came with a plastic clamshell case (that I'm not using).
The screen protector and plastic clamshell case are made by Beyond Cell.
Goodluck with whatever you choose...
had zagg no smudge protector, then switched to zagg regular. Smudge proof protector made screen look a bit cloudy to me. good luck on your search!

SGP Ultra Crystal are my favorite.
I've tried 4 different brands now, each has had it's own drawback.
Cloudy, gritty feeling, not as clear, some were "rubbery", some peeled up on the edges, one even smudged more than the glass.
In the end, I went back to just the plain screen, none were as ever as nice as the plain glass was.
I'll just have to be careful with my screen.
Just don't use the Sprint's store stock screen protector. The regular (glare) one had WAYYY too much reflection that I couldn't see anything. The non-glare one was a lot easier to read however it def. took away the quality of the screen. White seems to have rainbow crystals in them.
I'm also looking for a new screen protector now.
Why use a screen protector? I never get scratches unless i drop it.
Every screen protector ruins the screen quality more then even some small scratches and the glass on the Evo 3d is even stronger than on my Desire witch still looks great after more than a year with no protection at all.
No screenprotect is the way to go. Best feeling and experience

I pulled the zagg off of my Evo 4G for 2 months, and never have had one on my pre launch 3D. Both still have perfect screens. Raw dog is the way to go. They have gorilla glass, its very tough.

Was gonna mention this, the EVO 3d officially has gorilla glass which has a hardness rating of 7 I believe so unless you are always around sand/quartz or anything with a hardness rating above 7 like crushed diamonds all the time then you are fine going naked

Just wondering if they are needed for the flyer or will they get in the way when you use the pen ?
Sent from my Flyer!
I just got zagg invisible shield and i love the way it feels with my pen. Now i get good fiction using it on the screen and i can use the other side of the pen as a stylus without worrying about scratching the screen because of the metallic stylus.
Whether to use a screen protector or not seems like a very personal decision, based on opinions I've read on XDA. But I recommend using one. The Flyer does not have Gorilla Glass, and several people on here have had problems with scratches. The difference in feel is pretty minimal with a good quality protector, even when using the pen. So I don't think it will bother you in this regard. Some people even like the feel of the pen with the protector better than without. Apparently, the matte protectors (which I don't have) provide a little more friction, so the pen slips less and feels a bit more like writing on paper.
I have a Skinomi protector, and happy with it. I've also used Bodyguardz on my phone, and very happy with it, as well. But at the time I bought my Flyer, Bodyguardz didn't make a screen protector for it yet. But now they do.
If you end up not liking the protector, you can always take it off. Then you are just out $15-20. Better than going without, and regretting it, as there is no easy way to remove the scratches once they are there.
This one is working well for me

Is there a screen protector that reduces glare? I have my flyer in the car and at night its a bit hard to see the screen given the reflective properties of my protector.

Do you notice any scratches from using the pen? The one I am currently using looked great until I started using the pen. Now I can see scratches everywhere the pen has touched.
Anti-glare screen protectors from Handheld are great. Also less fingerprints.

I agree with this here. Was afraid of the interaction with the pen, but it feels great. I've always been weary of the anti-glare protector's ability to really protect the screen.

I bought this and it's really cool for fingerprints
I just got my Invisible Shield @ Best Buy last night for $9.99.
I really like the way it feels on the screen. IMHO way better than just the glass.
I've really liked using DC Mugen's matte screen protectors on my Samsung phone. They're great at reducing glare and fingerprints, and I prefer the feel over just the glass. I was glad to find that they started making a screen protector for the Flyer / View. They ship from Hong Kong, so it takes a few weeks to get them here in the US. Mine just arrived, and I'm not missing the fingerprints and glare.
Here is the link to their eBay store: http://stores.ebay.com/dcmugen
To me, screen film is a must for Flyer. First the screen as some others indicated not Gorilla glass, and the bare glass is no good to use the pen due to too low friction. A good-quality antiglare film is good for i) the viewing experience with no light reflection ii) lowered friction for good handwriting with pen iii) of course to protect screen for any possible scratches. Better to have one than worrying later
So far I didn't put any screen protector on my flyer. I ordered one from amazon and also bought the sagged invisible shield from BB. However with the zagg protector I am somewhat scared that I might get some of the application solution into the device.
So how safe is it to apply these and then squeeze the water out?

People apply the Zagg films with solution all the time. Just don't use too much solution. I'm personally not a fan of the Zagg stuff it's too sticky.
Lately, I've been putting on screen protectors from Photodon. I use their HD anti-glare model. Easy install, good clarity, reduces glare and finger prints. One of the best I've used and I've gone through a ton of brands with my various iDevices.

I didn't notice that it was a 3-pack until after I placed the order, which is a nice bonus.
I use the 'Boxwave' screen protectors and it works great. On my VIEW is the clear, they sell anti-glare but haven't tried it.
Previously on my ipod touch 3g, milestone, defy and blackberries i have always wanted to use an anti glare screen protector i get off amazon. But with the evo 3d i have noticed that the colour seems to be washed out with an anti glare screen protector.
So heres what i want to know:
1)Do you guys think the anti glare screen protectors for about £4 off amazon are really anti glare
2)Is it the anti glare screen protector washing out the evo 3d colours or is the problem apparent with all screen protectors
3)whats the best screen protector you guys have used?
First thing I bought for this phone was an invisishield anti glare protector and it washed the colors out as well. I've also seen multiple posts in the accessories section saying the same thing. I've heard that the phantom skin normal works really well although I haven't tried it. I ended up just getting the 3 pack from Sprint and I'm still on my first one ant it works perfectly

I have the anti glare screens from bodyguardz. I really like them. I don't think the colors are washed out. Maybe a bit, but it really does cut down glare.
Be aware of the version you get from them. My first set had a halo effect. Which is where the very edges do not stick to the screen properly. But a quick call to them and they sent me a replacement free. This one was manufactured (I'm told) differently and works perfectly.

interesting. the one I got off Amazon was
4 quid so it should be ok.
But do you guys think the glare reduction is worth the colour reduction?

I think it's worth it. It doesn't bother me. I agree it is not the same and not screen protector or a clear one. The I don't get any glare or reflections. Since you already ordered one, you will have it soon and can let us know what you think.

Ive already got one on my evo 3d and for £4 it's pretty impressive. yes it does help reduce glare a lot and it feels quite nice but it does wash out the colours a little
I don't like the anti glare protectors at all! The 3D has such a beautiful screen and I refuse to take away from it with a screen protector. Zagg, horrible, don't even want to go there. Otterbox, makes nice protectors but i felt they degraded screen quality just very slightly. I am now using a FLSuperstore clear screen protector and absolutely love it. Fitment is 100% perfect, and you can't feel or see that it is even there. I was skeptical of them cause they were so cheap, but they have really proven to me that they are the best.

I understand and agree with you. I compared my EVO 3s to my mate's desire s and the difference is astonishing. His one has a budget £2 clear screen protector which whilst has a lot of glare the colours look Amazing

High-res screens are always CLEAR > Anti-Glare; why? Because the anti-glare make the screen look like a low-res screen... and then, what's the point?
I'm currently using the $1.50 cheapy and it's wonderful! Especially for the price.
I think sprint sells a pack of three screen protectors and it includes two clear and one anti glare. I use the anti glare and its been fine for me. Yeah you notice the grain/specs but I can live with that.
I'm looking for a different screen protector. The one I got for free is an anti-glare and smudge free protector from ATT. However, the color and saturation seems to be way off. And I could see little pixel-like dots in different colors. I know that for an anti-glare screen protector the colors will be washed out, I just didn't know that it was this bad. But I realize that I need the anti-glare because I'm outside all the time.
I was wondering if anybody has tried the Moshi iVisor screen protector. I heard some great reviews for it on iPhones and iPads. However, because the screen protector does not actually touch the screen, how's the sensitivity with the s-pen?
...I have it/had it, I does the job. It's bubble free and prevents those tiny scratches however there is a big difference between clarity w/ & w/o it works no doubt but u loose the super HD display I think.

Do you have a screen protector at all? or is it naked.
I put one on yesterday and it makes me second guess keeping it. Using it in daylight is abhorrent.
Just use SGP screen protector and be done
